Why was the ML in a 'battle' with Prince Ning? It was not as if they were fighting over the throne or 'heir of family' inheritance. (actions of concubine's son notwithstanding). I get that the ML lead was investigating Ning, but why did that necessitate the ML pretending to be a playboy and not previously taking the imperial exams etc., because of it? He could have become a scholar / military man like those around him and still investigated Ning in secret.

I think that the 'investigating Ning for his father's death bit' was not explained very well at all. That or it was so quick, that I missed it.

Oh. Ha ha. It's not that bad. I thought it much better in the beginning - but they are spending too much time in the camp or at her mansion. Things need to move on a piece. Try giving it another go. I shall probably wait for it to finish so that I can fast forward the slow bits.

Is it me, or is this drama so slow? I am on ep 23 and getting bored with it. I love the drama but need something to happen - more often than it does.

I half hope that the old empress will turn up! Anyway, I would like to see the face of the FL when / if she discovers that her own father had the empress killed and that it was not the emperor. I will feel quite cheated if I don't get to see that.

I thought the same as you! But now we know that he has been poisoned - whether she did it or not or not. There is only one episode left to wrap this up - so we'll probably have to guess some of it.

I have just finished ep. 12. I haven't seen her since ep. 5. So I don't know whether she is relevant or not.

Thanks. I'll give it a look - unless it is manhua / webtoon. Not that I dislike them, per se, but I have too many 'real' dramas to watch.

The script isn't stupid - it just follows a certain style. It has comic book vibes where the main character is larger than life, having almost superhuman qualities. You say that the FL was not capable - or at least that is that is how it read, but the FL, within the confines of the drama, was extremely capable. Perhaps you meant that it was not realistic - but that is a different argument not to be collated with your original comments. Having said that, it doesn't matter if you don't like this particular style / or didn't like this particular drama (whichever applies). We all have our likes and dislikes. A thought occurs. If it is because you felt that she / the script was unbelievable, how do you feel about Xianxia?

Are you saying that the FL in LOFG was dishonest? How so? And how was it (the drama) stupid? Why do you think that the character was incapable? I shall give LBTP a watch (if I am able)and see what you are talking about.
