I’ve been binging the part two since I woke up thank god I’m on my summer break holiday cause I might have chosen the show over my exams🫣. This show definitely renews my love for Chinese xianxas seeing as there hasn’t been a lot releasing this year and the ones they do release are well..lackluster but anyways I really wish they didn’t slack on the subs I miss discussing the episodes with spoiler tags now after every episode I come down to the page and scroll looking for a past discussion…sigh. Anyways back to my binging🏃🏽‍♀️

you have a point but that's exactly why it's so damaging when they represent Africa like that on tv just like the west generalizes all Asians as Chinese even though Asia is a continent with different countries, the furthering of that stereotype proved to be dangerous during C-19 because if you were Asian even though you weren't from China you still got attacked that's why it's extremely stupid and dangerous especially when this airs on television that most people will watch just put out that type of scene.

I don't believe that he doesn't know because taejun said it in the 1st or 2nd episode that he has been watching and supporting taeyang in her career even if he cut off his sister they still work in the same career I don't believe he hasn't run/heard about them even once.

Not the person you @ but I believe that is different "Asian" is a race but "Africans" unless your african american is not a race just a continent but people aren't mad because they called us "African's" their mad because not only did they generalize the continent they made the whole continent look poor and not have "clean water" furthering stereotypes and then they had the male lead come "dig a well and give them clean water" furthering the white savior which is actually very damaging also the music, filter etc. Also this has been a running joke that Africans don't have clean water from the west to now the east it's tiring in general especially because this type of take being shown on tv is harmful to Africans irl this coming from an Africans myself the jokes I've heard in my lifetime is enough for me to see a therapist lol.

I believe this isn't a "right/wrong" situation when it comes to what shooting stars portrayed. It was wrong, ignorant and honestly I understand the hate and disgust people have for that drama but it is your opinion to continue it but you can't expect when a drama wrongfully insulted a whole race/nation for people to laugh it off and continue the drama like nothing is wrong.

except the fact that this isn't a "simple issue" and revolves around a whole nation of people of color and how they feel about their continent is being represented on national tv

this comment section is acc the height of disgust I have reached in 7 years of consuming kmedia I tend and try not to generalize ppl but this comment section really put it into stone The people putting African comments about our uncomfortable feelings and the ignorance that was shown and referring to it as "negative comments" is literally so funny I'm seriously speechless. Anytime an African/black issue is brought up we're quick to be silenced but let it be any religion/race yall will def put your fighting boots up you all showed your asses today and I am so glad for it. The fact that this drama is not that good but you're quick to insult people and go down the deepest darkest hole for it and put you're human decency/morals all for some fucking laughs and stupid jokes in a show shows that your not defending the show its just your inner racism and ignorant ideals coming out to make a joke out of yourselves. I really hope it was worth it😘.

your basically saying "don't watch it and let them continue in their racist/ignorant ways" No I will continue to comment/watch and interfere everything a disrespectful comment is made against any other poc country change will not happen overnight we know this but that doesn't mean to look the other way and let it continue when has looking the other way when injustice occurs ever helped in history?

I'm honestly holding on to this because the chemistry the leads have is just amazing but whew for a 24 episode drama the CONFLICTS ARE TOO MUCH even a 50 episode palace drama doesn't have this much conflict it's like 30 minutes lovey-dovey and the rest scheming against the main cp and it doesn't help that sometimes the second couples get screentime than the main cp. it's stressing me out so bad I think I'll just wait till it's finished and binge-watch

I meant the crown prince in a way I was saying that I wouldn't put it past the crown prince to agree to assault the FL or try to do it

Now for me to rant after ep 12 all I have to say is the father is disgusting, for lightweight drama, there are so many evil characters in it, the queen is crazy to even trust a man like that around her if he's setting up the daughter he raised from a baby to a grown woman to get sexually assaulted what type of loyalty do you think he will give you?

The crown prince....what can I say he's a dub and he truly is an example of a man(i mean it in the worst way) he totally ignores her feelings even though she expressed she doesn't want a relationship like that with him. Says he "knows her" and she "means a lot to him" but completely ignores that she's has a free spirit and trying to make her crown princess would destroy her whole life, then in ep 12 he had the audacity to challenge ml to a fight so that she could "know him better"???? and honestly I believe I saw the attempted sexual assault coming from a mile away when she repeatedly told him she was okay with living and practicing in the bamboo forest and he kept talking anyway he's a piece of trash until maybe the new episodes come out and convince me otherwise.

the sister and the maid...not much to say about them the sister is a pushover who gets thrown from one corner to another and lets her maid do whatever she wants while correcting her like the supposed good girl she is yeah right LMFAO. The maid I've learned to visually ignore the girl when she comes on screen if you've watched a lot of historical hair pulling Chinese dramas you know at the end the worst the maid will end up with is banishment as the heaviest or a slap(yes u heard me) no point wasting energy on her.

okay I know there's a lot of mixed reviews but coming from someone who just binged the 12 episodes in like 1 and a half days I have to say it's pretty good some things will definitely have you raising an eyebrow here and there or rolling your eyes at the must-have cliches but doesn't every drama have those. Anyways, it's 24 episodes lightweight story and an easy watch yes from ep 1-4 the editing kinda sucks but it doesn't make it completely unwatchable trust me I've seen worse. If I had to give anybody advice I would say don't go into this with expectations I started this drama on a whim because I was trying to procrastinate from doing my final essay and went into the drama with no expectations of it being good(I mean come on look at the CGI) but then again like I said I've seen worse long story short just try it out if you're trying to relax or you're coming from a stressful loaded drama.

honestly in a way she was definitely more firmer than xuanji she said multiple times she didn't want to be crown princess to her father, the queen and her sister but nobody is listening to her which is obvious in this time period she's a women she can't out rightly reject a crown prince or be rude to him in that type of way. To me she did way more than many other fls couldn't and won't have done in her shoes even in the way she clearly rejected the crown prince while being polite.
