I also feel if u don't know the spoilers, u will definitely enjoy this so much better than u know
I completely agree. It’s also not helpful to read analysis and reviews. I was just too excited. The one drama where I had no background was Joy of Life and that hit me like bang. LLTG deserves the same from me.🥰

Great decision!
I wasn’t able to enjoy the episodes this week because I was anticipating scenes from the novel. Looking back I realized I have a story in my head and wanted it confirmed visually. I regret reading parts of the novel and spoilers. 🥲

I’m comparing posts from twitter from those who have no idea about the novel and spoilers and their reaction is just perfection. For them the entire journey moved flawlessly and ended perfectly. I realized that reading parts of the novel in google translate affected my way of appreciating the drama. So I decided to take a rest after episode 48. I will cleanse my brain and go back to this after one week. I want to experience the story in its splendour.

I just wanted to add a cultural context to the scene where CSS was blaming LBY about not being here for her. That…
Perception is always influenced by our experiences. I saw it as a way of showing affection. Filipinos call it “lambing”. So I agree with you wholeheartedly.

Also, did you notice how she kinda blamed LBY when he found her in the burnt prison almost dead. She was like…
Maybe LBY is a better person, a hero. But I like CS because she’s not kind and considerate. She’s like a very real person to me. She’s not a heroine.

I normally fast forward to the ending when the tension starts, when the heartbreak begins, and then go back to it later on when my anxiety can handle it. But I’m so thankful for the way this drama was written and directed that it prepared me for what’s to come. I’m glad I watched every episode twice so I can understand (it’s hard to watch the emotions and read the subs) the psychology of the characters. For the first time, I’m actually looking forward for this to reach its boiling point. What happens needs to happen. I don’t care what’s right and wrong, the story is not a lesson in morality. It’s just pure story telling at it’s finest.

Some people just saw one side of story in my opinion, that is why when I watch this I didn’t focus only in 1…
Every episode we are shown a characters’s strength and weakness; that they will never be perfect. That’s what keeps me entertained. There’s not one perfect person. There’s not one who completely gets away with everything; everyone hurts; and they also hurt others. There’s no Prince Charming, no saint.

I would actually be more shocked if she suddenly sounded more mature. I guess we see the FL in different ways. Her imperfections are what makes me like the drama. I appreciate the ML’s struggles and his efforts to love and protect; but I also really like that the FL is consistent with her character. For me, it shows a realistic view of people. That sometimes we never truly change we just mellow and learn to adjust.

Can I add a cultural perspective here. I don’t think CSS was seriously “blaming” him because of her tone…
I was thinking about this but couldn’t find the words. For Filipinos we call it “lambing”. It’s not blaming but a way to show affection. There’s no exact English word for it.

The girl is about to lose her entire family. I would have a one track mind too. All she can think about is them…
I wasn’t talking about the future but his previous actions. You see it as pointing a finge and blaming; I see it differently. I believe we perceive things based on our own experiences, that’s why I’m making a comment about how I perceived it.

I see it more as someone who’s conveying what she truly feels —- that she needs him. She may try to be supportive of whatever he wants to do but she would really rather that he’s with her. I like this drama exactly because the FL didn’t just stumble into falling in love. She’s learning to love someone, and still being able to maintain her own identity.

NN still one track minded; only she can find her father even if LBY is there. Very glad tweedledum spoke up; like…
The girl is about to lose her entire family. I would have a one track mind too. All she can think about is them dying any minute. If I were in her place, I won’t have the wherewithal to think about other people’s concerns. I would be in a panic mode talking nonsense, mostly likely being hysterical. I’m sure LBY gets it - since he himself goes on a psycho rampage whenever he wants to avenge or protect someone. What is known as common sense doesn’t exist.

-ShaoShang’s behavior and emotions in these two episodes is justified. Idk why people are saying she’s acting…
Criticizing the FL and always justifying the ML. I cringe every time I see comments like that.

Very true! It makes me wonder how LBY (who has no interest in girls) learn how to be such a flirt but can't tell…
Hahaha! Must be a 21-year old male’s instinct.

I love what you pointed out about how the story is unfolding from the FL's eyes too. It's great since the story…
Thanks! My husband got so invested ao I ended up re watching again and again. I’m so used to binge watching but my husband wanted to savour every episode. If he slow unfolding felt like reading a novel.

Exactly. FL has been true to her character. She is adapting as she learns. One of the reason I love this drama…
I agree. It’s actually a disservice to the ML’s acting if all they see is his swoony romantic side. He is actually a lonely damaged soul who’s seeing brightness in his life for the first time and his need to love and be loved. He has his own darkness that will not be lit up by the FL.

Totally, totally agree with your take on FL. This drama is very in depth. In fact some of the people watching…
Nirvana in fire and joy of life are also the dramas I’ve watched the way I’m watching LLTG

In addition to my post below about the FL, I noticed the very methodical way the director is creating the scenes where the ML is showing his physical attraction to the female, the carefully crafted scenes of sexual tension… and the FL’s resulting awakening. After the ML kissed her and flirted with her, she suddenly wants to make sure she’s dressed and made up well (primping at the engagement party) and stares at him, his lips as if seeing him for the first time (at the birthday banquet). It was during this time that her eyes finally see him as a man —- in the eyes of a woman, not a girl’s.
