I was like - wow, that's such a good setup for season 2, and then BOOM! I'm not complaining tho - second seasons are always hit or miss, so I don't feel like taking the chance. Yes, the last episode felt a bit rushed but I got everything I hoped for and the last scene - well, let's just say it was comedy(and not only) gold π€£ Really loved this BL but it's so much more than just that - complex plot and characters, and much more, that's a 9/10 for me.
i will assume it's gemini, right? considering his father is a producer in the industry (love sick remake and other…
Don't get me wrong - I like Gem. I think he has a great voice, he's handsome, and his acting is okay for how old he is so he has time to improve. But when it comes to chemistry you won't convince me otherwise. Yes, chemistry requires both parties to cooperate but like, it's quite obvious who puts more effort into it, no? Be it fan events, bts content, or the series itself, where Fourth is way more convincing when it comes to portraying Atom's feelings for Kongthap, as compared to the other way around. It could be partly to the script, directing, or the character of Kongthap himself but I just don't feel that he feels anything for Atom. Also, something that just crossed my mind is their kiss scenes here and/or in MSP - maybe it's just me but Fourth seems way more passionate - maybe Gem just isn't as good a kisser as Fourth and it's completely fine if that's the case but I think it makes sense when you connect it with Gem's overall reservedness in terms of skinship.

Yup, I meant Gem. It honestly seems like at one point he either started feeling uncomfortable with the whole BL thing(which is weird? like you knew what you were getting into since the start and didn't seem to have a problem with it during MSP) or, maybe something shifted in his relationship with Fourth? I won't be playing detective but maybe, just maybe, Fourth being SO comfortable and SO seemingly unfazed by BL, fanservice, and alike... creeped?(if that's the right word) Gem out. Or maybe(and here it's just my imagination going wild so you might as well ignore it π€£), what some people(the delulu individuals) have been saying is true and Fourth like-liked Gem and he told him and that's what made him behave in this sort-of reserved, path of least resistance, way? Either way, something went wrong at one point and it's really a shame since after MSP I was so enamoured by their pairing that I even bought my first piece of BL merch. Well, I hope the same fate does not await my recent obsession - SeaKeen β€οΈ
In regards to the 'no chemistry' accusations - I don't want to point fingers or blame anyone in particular, BUT it is quite obvious which one of the boys is less comfortable with skinship with his co-star. It shows up in the series, but also in behind-the-scenes, events. I think it could be very discouraging for the one who, since the beginning of their pairing, has been very comfortable with the whole BL background and managed to act out positive emotions this whole time. Chemistry, however, requires both people to work together - I don't know what happened since MSP but GF, not only lost their initial charm(which is a given considering recency bias and how 'fresh' they felt back then), they somehow became just like all those mediocre BL couples who do the bare minimum in terms of chemistry, acting, and other. As for the writing of the series itself, I don't really see that big of a problem, maybe I'm just not attentive enough but I think they do justice for the original. The ads are obviously a problem but it's GMMTV y'all so you should be used to it - yes it's more extensive here, but really its like 10-20 extra seconds. Music is nice as well and the supposedly annoying sound effects are unnoticeable unless you really look for them. Overall, I'm still enjoying the series but it's nowhere near MLC or MSP.
I'm with you on this one. I thought we were way past that since most recent Japanese BL's have already normalized…
Yeah, I hope we get some proper(although we all know how Japan is about those sorts of things) kiss in the upcoming episodes π Let's keep our fingers crossed π€
I found the kiss to be completely fineβ¦the manga literally angles it like that. It looked the exact same as…
Oh damn, I didn't know that. That changes a lot although let me ask you this since you read the manga - are there more kiss scenes to come and if so, are they also angled like the one from this episode?

Of the top of my head, the last BL which had that kind of kiss was a KBL called Starstruck. And here, they at least had SOME kind of reason(albeit not very convincing - idol status of one of the leads) for choosing to portray the kiss like that. I really cannot think of a reason for such action in Hidamari, especially since the preview hints at more kissing coming our way(and if they choose to "fake" all of them, oh boy, will I be mad - I can bear 1 of those, but more than that?)
As much as I'm in love with this drama so far, the camera-angle kiss really left a bad taste in my mouth. I sincerely thought we were past this in BLs - let's hope they make up for it in the next episode because the preview looked promising!
Offroad's smile is to-die-for - this boy is honestly so unbelievably cute, handsome, and beautiful all at the same time... damn, I'm so jealous of Daou π€
I think that must have been my favorite episode so far. So much happening, really not even a moment of dullness. One thing I would like to see improve tho, is Meen and Ping's acting - they're not rookie actors anymore having been main leads together in two(albeit, not very good) BLs, so they should have had plenty of acting classes and time to get better. We got a glimpse of Meen's potential in the scene with Q, where he really delivered, however in other scenes, he seems quite strained, not letting his emotions to show up as freely. As for Ping, I really think he's cute but his default expression being that of slight disgust(which remains in most scenes) is not a very good look π Still loving the series tho β€οΈ
Oh my god, ChainPun really delivered in the last episode. It honestly makes up for having to live off of their crumbs throughout the whole show. That kiss was SPICY π₯΅
The premise is interesting, the acting and overall execution are good, but oh my god, are some of those characters absolutely insufferable. This series really is an exercise in self-control. I must have wanted to scream at my phone AT LEAST 5 times this episode. The only one not getting on my nerves is Pah - and it says a lot when you consider how simple-minded and unserious he can be π
This series is a slowburn-enthusiast's wet dream - we literally got handholding by episode 6 π I'm not complaining tho - I like me some slowburn especially when it's GemFot π
Judging just from the trailers, I was afraid this series would be filled with over-the-top acting, unbearable cliches, terrible CGI and fight scenes, accompanied by an array of noisy sound effects and while some of those things are true π, luckily it isn't to the extent I expected it to be. It's really so much more than that - great comedy, quite enjoyable historical aspects, very funny characters, some subtle social commentary and other things...(yes I'm talking about that last scene, get off me π₯±). I have to say I really enjoyed the first episode. Also, Daou's acting is absolutely phenomenal π
