Title Why R U?
Why did they put the necklace on Kim Ji Oh if they weren't gonna use it 😭. Like, I can't be the only one who was hoping they'd recreate the iconic kiss from the original. I really enjoyed it nonetheless, WAY more than the original(the only good part of which was the aforementioned kiss, imo) A solid 8.5 from me

I'm actually surprised by how well the plot is coming along. The characters are being developed very smoothly, and yet it doesn't feel like it's getting dragged out just to get more screentime. The stares of both Yai and Jom feel very natural and not like time fillers. The cinematography, setting, costumes, and attention to detail is amazing, too. Also, I'm very surprised at how quick Jom connected the dots regarding the pictures. In most series of this type it'd take at least 3 episodes for it to dawn on the main character πŸ˜‚ So far, this series is on track to being one of the best Thai BLs this year! Let's hope I don't have to eat my words later on!

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD CAN SOMEONE HELP ME IDENTIFY THE SONG FROM END CREDITS? Shazam really went 'oh, is this song WHICH DOESNT EVEN HAVE LYRICS the one you're looking for?'

Well, it's a very impopular opinion, but at this point I prefer this version much more than the original πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ
THIS! I actually dropped the original after 4 episodes(so it's not like I didn't give it a chance) but this version has me hooked! I am so in love with Ji-Oh's pouty face, and their ability to make me laugh hysterically

I don't care what anyone says, how bad the audio gets or how confusing the subtitles are, for some unexplainable reason I absolutely ADORE this. Whether it's their ability to make me laugh my ass off for literal minutes, whether it's Kim Ji Oh's cutest pouty face(and his face in general), or the ASTONISHING kiss, I do not know. All I know is I'm addicted and I can't even tell why πŸ˜‚

None of the songs are fully released yet sadly
Yeahhh, I thought that might be the case but figured I could ask anyway... Thanks

Does anyone know what's the song that plays when Wu Bi beats up the thugs in episode 3??? It's so catchy and Shazam's sadly not doing its job...

I feel like there is some kind of evil spirit that forces all Thai BL writers to make at least one episode which is just pure, totally unnecessary drama. There is literally no point in creating a problem which will last for half an episode and be solved in the other half. It's even worse than having a filler episode - those have some fluff, at least. Also, what actually IS the problem here? That Jeng pumped money into Pat's projects so they're more successful? It's not like he completely discarded his ideas and came up with his own in their place. Not telling him about it could be seen as an act of lack of trust, but even so, is it really reason enough for them to break up? Especially after all the shit Jeng had to put up with? Don't get me wrong, I still like the series - it's still going to get about an 8 from me. I just wish this episode didn't happen cause it's just a waste of screentime. But like I said, it's not enough for me to forget all the good things about the show, and there were plenty of them.

I feel bad for Phat. Like is it a bad thing to ask his boyfriend why he was kissing another guy? A guy who EVERYBODY knows has feelings for Tai? It wasn't until Tai didn't respond, that Phat got agitated and started the 'who do you choose' part, which truthfully, does bother me a bit, but definitely not as much as Tai lying to Phat about meeting up with a guy that, again, EVERYBODY knows has feelings for him. Also, the whole soulmate triangle is getting on my nerves. I'd take coupling Lomfon with Tien and having one of their annoying exes come back over this any day of the week. All this unnecessary drama towards the end. But it's Thai BL so I guess I shouldn't be surprised. I still like the series but ep 10 got on my nerves.

Pat hasn't grown in the slightest.
I think what many people fail to realize, is that Pat is really doing his best, even though he's had a lot of things going on. Parents' divorce, getting a new job and instantly facing homophobia, having a boss who puts him and others down(arguable, I know). All of these contribute to how emotional and sensitive Pat is, which is why his growth in other areas, and slight improvement in controlling his emotions(the whole Forge project) should not be overlooked. Yes, he's immature, yes, he cries a lot, but do you really think he hasn't grown enough to call it a 'change'? Ultimately, he's been through a lot and is doing quite well for himself, regardless.

Pat hasn't grown in the slightest.
Is it so wrong to be emotional? Sure, he could control it better, but does it really overshadow the fact that he did, indeed, grow as a person in other departments? Like I said, he did make some progress when it comes to his self-esteem and confidence. I don't think excessive crying is a sign of lack of growth.

Pat hasn't grown in the slightest.
These aren't any major changes but if people paid a bit more attention to Pat as a character, they would notice some changes in his demeanor. If you base your opinion just off the fact that he cries a lot, then yes, sure. But you seem to completely discard everything else I said about his growth. People don't change overnight, or even a month. It takes a lot of time to alter your personality, because ultimately, it IS his personality. I'd argue that him overcoming his low self-esteem is more impressive than being able to control one's emotions. On a side note, does he really cry that much? He cried like, what? 4-5 times? In a span of 10 episodes? If you think that's a lot it's y'all's problem.

Did I say he's suddenly become a perfectly composed, mature person? FUCK no. He's still childish and can't handle his emotions great BUT he is changing. The fact you can't see it is not my fault.

Pat hasn't grown in the slightest.
He has. Thanks to Chot, he managed to look past his low self-esteem, accept Jeng's feelings, and be truthful with himself. When it comes to being a whiny crybaby, he definitely improved too - not a lot, but it's hard not to burst out crying when people are accusing you of sleeping with your boss for benefits and judging your sexuality. I'm guessing you are a straight women so it's not like you'd understand πŸ˜‰

I honestly don't get the amount of hate this series gets. People keep complaining about the plot's progression and boring subplots. While I could agree with the second one - there is also a very thin line between making a boring sidestory/sidecouple and having it overshadow the main plot/couple, which is why I don't mind KanoonAe or JaabJen that much. But people complaining about the main plot itself are delusional - the series is literally called STEP BY STEP. It is a given that it will focus more on the character's feelings, growth, relationships, than the events, as in any damn melodrama. And it's not like nothing happens at all - we have the insight into office jobs, the backstage of BL production, Pat's growth as a person, a realistic example of a gay relationship in conservative Asia in Chot and Krit, and most importantly - the steady, realistic, STEP BY STEP development of a boss's and employee's relationship in Jeng and Pat. There are also many other positive aspects like the undeniable chemistry of main couple, Man's great acting, good side characters in Chot and Ying, and well-executed steamy scenes. For me, this series is a solid 8, if not a 9. If you think otherwise, maybe deeper, more emotion-driven plots and stories aren't for you. If you expect explosions and crazy plottwists in every BL, you don't have a lot to choose from anyway.

Man is such a good actor. That was probably the most realistic 'I just can't do it anymore' type of crying I've ever seen. The way he just crumbled - ugh, perfect. This episode was great, but also a bit chaotic - they tried to fit in a lot of things - parents, birthing, so they left Pat and Jeng with limited space. I just wish they cut out the 'giving birth on the side of the road's scene - it was totally unnecessary.

I absolutely LOVED the opening credits - they were beautifully done. But the series itself was just... not good. Plot - rushed and all over the place, acting - stiff and unconvincing, chemistry - simply nonexistent, despite Kim In Sung's attempts. The lack of any kind of affection - and I mean ANY. I honestly wouldn't have minded the fake kiss, but THEY NEVER EVEN HUGGED OR CONFESSED THEIR FEELINGS? Like what? It's not even a bromance, or a friendship, let alone a BL. It's more like BA - Boy Acquaintances.

I'll be honest. I'm half-expecting an incredible turn of events and a huge plot twist in 1626. Something like, "a 16 year old in a 26 year olds body," cause otherwise, how do you even think that it's okay to come up with a story like that in this day and age 😭

Title Step by Step
I really like it so far. The pacing, which so many people here shit on, is actually okay. There is definitely progress in Pat and Jeng's relationship. Y'all need to realize that people don't go from cruel boss and boss-hating employee to lovers in a matter of days. They steadily alleviated their relationship and now they're steadily, step by step😏, upgrading it. Yes, the acting could be better and Ben's facial expressions make me cringe sometimes, but the boy is a total newbie, plus, if the director thought his expressions to be over the top, or simply bad, he would have reacted. On a positive note, Saint's acting seems to have improved! Maybe it's because he couldn't really move his face with the mask on πŸ‘€(obviously, same thing applies - he's a newbie too so I let it slide) And, most importantly, we got to see daddy Jeng's flirting abilities - he really looked like he wanted to eat Pat right there and then in the kitchen scene. 🀀
