Where did you watch it? Kisskh doesn’t have English subtitles.
Damn, seems like a lotta work just to watch it. Guess I'll just resort to the less legal sources 😉 but thanks anyway.

I dont really mind the fish-kiss in ULS because (a) they were a couple who had broken up on bad terms and JUST…
I agree about the ULS part. And, I'll be honest, as a member of the 'West' I will also side-eye people making out in the street. I'm all for displaying affection in public but eating each other is a bit too much. Having said that, most fish-kisses usually don't happen in the open, but as I said I don't really mind them.

where this is coming?
IQIYI in some regions only. I think we will have to resort to the infamous ill*gal sites.

Korea and Koreans are still far behind the west and even other Asian countries like for example Taiwan. Why do you think the social aspect is ignored in almost every KBL? Why are there barely any coming-out scenes, why is it almost never explicitly stated that the characters like men? Why do the characters always seem to be in their own little bubble? Because, Korea is still incredibly behind, and that is the truth. A painful one, but still the truth. Why do we have a Christian parade taking the place of Pride Parade. Why, even when the Pride Parade took place, universities sent people counter protesting and running booths 'educating' people on risks of being gay? Just because we have BLs isn't a sign of anything except that it's good business. LGBT representation is a minor concern of most directors and production companies. And when it comes to actors or idols, acting in a BL, in itself, is a very courageous thing to do. I think the fear of being attacked and losing audience is very legitimate. I want to believe that most actors do want to, at least in some way, bring attention to LGBT people and LGBT rights. So what, if they don't kiss? Does it mean LGBT people disgust them? No. Do you realize how little influence the actors have on what they do? Especially idols who need their agency's approval for pretty much anything they do. Like in the case of ULS, I'm pretty sure Gongchan wouldn't have minded kissing passionately his co-star, but in this case, the director decided against it. Why am I writing this you say? Cause some people here, are either delusional or blind, and I feel the need to open their eyes.

I believe in ASTCO it was more complicated as both mains are from the same group. The no kiss policy was implemented…
I admit, the pyjamas in pool did confuse me, but I think it was winter so that might be part of the reason. As to the idol part, I'm really not sure how you would determine which idols use their status not to be intimate. Take Gongchan from ULS as example. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't mind having a deep kiss with his co-star but the director decided against it. More importantly, I don't know to what extent idols have freedom in deciding such things. I'd argue that probably very little since it's their agencies that
usually make the call. And even if they were the ones behind the decisions I think the fear of losing audience is legitimate in a still conservative country that is Korea

I understand where all these "no more idols in BLs" sentiment is coming from. Recently, idols in BLs have been…
I believe in ASTCO it was more complicated as both mains are from the same group. The no kiss policy was implemented to prevent any awkwardness within the group, and also they did compensate with other forms of intimacy. In the webtoon, there were no or very few kisses too, so that's another reason. I also think that overgeneralizing and saying all idols act badly in BLs is quite far-fetched even though it is often true.

Title Step by Step
It started slow but it's getting better with each week. Episode 4 was by far the best one yet and I'm hoping they keep this upward trend. One thing I really dislike, though, is Jaab's acting. He is so artificial and emotionless which makes it looks like he just had the fattest whiff of some good weed and I just can't take him seriously 😂

Am I the only one scared they'll heavily censor it? It is quite a mainstream production with known actors so...

Upon finishing Our Dating Sim only one word comes to mind - perfect. It was perfect in every possible way, from the couple's chemistry which was fresh, endearing, playful, adorable, and so real that you just couldn't stop grinning, to the story which was so beautiful in its simplicity and perfectly executed in such a limited runtime. Some might even say that it was too short, and while I, too, wish it were longer, the charm and uniqueness that Our Dating Sim has, could disappear if the story was too stretched. Having said that, I am hoping for season 2 with a similar format, or a webtoon, which has been hinted towards the end of episode 8. But coming back to the story, as said above, it was really simple, maybe even banal and yet it felt so new and fresh. Partly, it is thanks to great acting and terrific overall execution, but more importantly I think, it is due to the fact that we really lack this kind of simple stories today, when every screenwriter and director try their hardest to be different while losing the authenticity, realism, and the natural feel that Our Dating Sim so flawlessly portrays. Moreover, it does really well in reaching vast audiences by incorporating the universal experiences of crushes, first loves, adolescence, but also death and fears, the latter being so clearly visible in the character of Ki Tae. I could go on and on about the outstanding performances of the leads, or the different themes, subplots and so on, but no one would be able to read all of it. One thing that I would like to point out, though, is the originality and uniqueness of the post-credit game scenes which really make the experience of watching Our Dating Sim so immersive and enjoyable.

Episode 1: two things stand out - great cinematography, and the tension between the leads is through the roof! If you're still making your mind up whether to start this, please do, It has potential to be great

From what other people are saying, I think it's just a matter of staying faithful to the original, in which apparently…
Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind a kiss either. My main point is(apart from sticking to the manhwa) that first, kisses aren't the only sign of intimacy, two, the lack of them should not be a deal breaker determining whether the story is good or not, and thirdly, after all, it's Korea and a relatively mainstream production so keep that in mind.
On Our Dating Sim Mar 29, 2023
If the last two episodes don't disappoint, it could actually become one of the best K-BLs ever. There is just something so endearing and fresh about the story, the leads, their acting and chemistry.

I honestly don't know what to think. Before today I was really into it but after the last two episodes I'm confused. We get a random time skip and a dodgy reconciliation, followed by yet ANOTHER time skip, with no visible development throughout. To me, it seemed very, maybe not rushed, but chaotic in the end. Moreover, I'm finding it really hard sympathizing with Tae Hyeon. I get that he has separation anxiety and is hurting inside, but calling someone nothing and a toy and just spitting on someone's feelings really pushes to what extent we can blame it on his trauma. But that's just my opinion. On the upside, the acting and chemistry were great, and I think that's the first ear kiss I've seen so that's a plus.
