Gave it one last try. My final opinion is that its not for me and the targeted audience is without a doubt japanese…
Quite a few of us who love the drama are not Japanese teenage girls! but international grow up audience. I hope your intention was not to be offensive, though in MDL people are insulted for far less 😂
Can people stop wishing for characters to die? Fist it's a tv show.. and secondly do you think is normal to wish…
It is a slasher!, we knew what it was about before starting the series. It is like watching a rom com and not wanted to watch a couple falling in love in funny situations. In this series people are going to die!
I hate BOC deaply but i'm really fascinated by the way they make people talk about very serious issues.
Thank you, I thought I was the only one who had a bad opinion of BOC! when I suggested that I may not have the best opinion about BOC (not as bold as you) a couple of people here went bananas. Good news is that this series is great because the scriptwriters are high quality.
This is exhausting, I know! - For all of you still dilly dally about the appalling behaviour of the teacher, this is what the Thai law stipulates: "Thailand statutory rape law is violated when an individual has consensual sexual intercourse with a person under age 15. However, sex with a minor under age 18 is a compoundable offense, regardless of consent." So if Non was one hour short of 16 and he may be in this category, it was statutory rape. If he was over 16 but younger than 18, that he was for sure, still was an offense. In this case, the aggravating factor is that the offender was his teacher - this case of scenarios are classified as sexual misconduct even in cases of 18+

(somebody have just insulted me here under your post for adding an example from another country, it was just a legal text. So I deleted that post and blocked that person. So here you are this is the legal situation in Thailand. Even if you disagree with me it is unacceptable to insult anybody for quoting a legal text!?. In my previous reply, I was also talking specifically about the offense that teachers commit when having sexual intercourse with a student even if he was not a minor - it is included in the category of sexual misconduct. A teacher is in a position of power and exercises an undue influence over his/her students. It is considered that there is not a proper consent in these cases.
You said in your post above that he was "almost" 16. My answer was following what you wrote, if he was one day short of 16 still is statutory rape. Now you are writing he was 16+, that's completely different from what you were claiming just a moment ago. Abduction is the forcible retention/removal of somebody against his own will! - so in the series, the official version was that Non even if he was not a minor was being held against his will. The same series is giving you a cue about the lack of consent in both situations.
This is a great series!!! (well a bit draggy and repetitive half way through, but we know this with K Dramas that last more than 12 eps!) I only arrived here because I wanted to watch another series by Jong Hyeop that I like very much in Eye love you. To add, what a surprise that Ju Hyun was also here!!! She is fab, so funny, her comedy timing is impeccable but she also can move me to tears too. She was excellent in Forbidden Marriage. She and Jong Hyeop make a lovely CP. I hope they work together again. I also like the coach's daughter, she is such a forceful woman and can control that egotistic national player very well. They also look great together. So another strong CP in this series.
This is what the script writers saidhttps://x.com/porchayhive/status/1761737904207114420?s=46&t=w1_gbLmT3E_SkqouqLYbYQBad…
and this is precisely what makes this BL so interesting!!! Thank you for sharing, this is very insightful from the screenwriter and very bold to say it. Bravo.
Some of you really need to chill u can hate characters all u want but hating the actors? They r just doing their…
Unfortunately, it is quite a common behaviour hating on actors for a role whether the production is from Europe, US or Asia. Many viewers cannot separate fiction from reality. Jin is not a positive character but Copper is a lovely young actor, with talent and potential to grow more. I hope we can stay on those spaces.
(unsolicited comment warning!) I would like to say I deeply dislike BL CPs fan service culture because of the toxic fans and this forum has proved to me many times why. I am a LGBTQ+ supporter since my early teens but unfortunately, I have found the most hateful crowds among BL shipping fans, expressed in their double standards and trying to force their ships in real life. BL actors are that actors, most of them are straight and they say so. Still, these people throw tantrums of all sorts: plots of previously written material have to be changed to please the fans, actors are forced to sign contracts of non-disclosure of hetero relationships, among others. If any of them is discovered having a hetero romance the cancelling crowds start with their shameless hate campaigns. We are here because we like the BL/Yaoi genre and most of us enjoy seeing e.g. K Pop boys flirting among themselves (often a showbiz trick encouraged by companies). I enjoy V and JK interaction (BTS), Woo and San (Ateez), etc I love a super Chinese bromance fell in love with the characters, with the actors, enjoy their BL fan art (many created by amazing professional artists around the world) but I am loyal to them by supporting their individual efforts. Shipping is alright as long as we separate fictional stories from real life and above all, respecting the actors personal space and choices in life. 🙏
This was so refreshing to see from an hetero-Japanese production: a strong woman, with strong opinions, lots of physical force, and not quirky sexual habits!!! yes!!! I like the series. I watched it because Fumi Nikaido (FL) in between the release of the episodes of Eye love you. In this series the female actors were the winners, really good performances I was not very keen in the male actors except for the bartender. The only aspect I did not like was the brush under the carpet the fact that second ML, the boss at the inn, was in an intimate relationship with the geisha, taking advantage of her feelings for him, and he knew that she was scheming causing the divorce of the FL and he did say anything. The series of course only condemned the geisha and exonerated him from his behaviour. Japanese patriarchal values had to appear somewhere!
For all those saying that this gang of bullies did not intend to cause harm/commit murder/kill anybody, are we watching the same series? They handed Non over to the gangsters who tortured and murdered people for less than what allegedly Non did. they condemned their parents to despair with their lies, causing the broken heart of Non's mum and inducing his dad to commit suicide. In the real world and the law, people who cause other people suicide or severe mental suffering are offenders. This is fiction and revenge is the centre of the series, so why are you watching if you don't like the centre plot? So if you are going "to play"/mix with the real moral/legal standards of the real world with this piece of fiction, let's be decent, well informed, and consistent!
