I hate first episodes that spend the entire runtime getting to what the drama will actually be like, rushing us…
I feel relieved reading your comment. I am afraid I had to stop halfway through ep 2, it was more of the same, and as well the comedy very flat. A pity as I think the CP actors are great, they deserve a better script and a more original plot.
No, it does not happen everywhere Jenny, I am sorry I have to disagree with you. I have moved between countries and work in different sectors and this not just happen. Management in most of the world is aware they cannot just assault an employee. Those cases are marginal nowadays in many countries. Gender discrimination yes, and other types of discrimination as well are still a problem, but not physical assault.
Ep 2 - Please anybody reassure me that in Korea your bosses do not physically assault you!, OMG how many dramas do we have with a terrible portrayal of physically abusive bosses? My cousin works in the pharmaceutical sector and had to work in Korea. She said at the beginning his male counterparts were unpleasant because of gender discrimination but she had a good talk with higher management and things improved, then she said it was good enough to work there. So many issues in this drama are so exaggerated: the high achievers' behaviour, the malpractice case, and now the medical employment sector. I wanted desperately to like it because I follow ML career I have watched his previous dramas and I really like his work. FL is great too but I cannot cope with the script. They are creating easy melodrama. Even if it is fiction, is it too much to keep it sensible? I think I stop here. I don't want to come here to rant, so let this be my last post on this.
This person is not alone on this, look at the posts below, other people are making the same comment. I think the chemistry is fine, I like the ML actor very much and he is good at matching with his CPs in all his dramas, but the villain couple is superior here.
Ive already commented this so many times, but theyre not enough to express how much i ABSOLUTELY LOVE LOVE LOVEE…
I am so glad too because if you are in MDL for a while you find there is such unnecessary hate thrown at either actors or a drama itself in other forums. There is no need. One can legit express a critical view of a drama but without nastiness and hate, and if I don't like an actor I simply don't watch his/her dramas, I don't come here to rant about them!
Ep 6 - Those epilogues continue to be a total treat. It was so rewarding to see that the lovers survived and were able to escape to their new life together. Madam Merchant whispered in the ear of our FL how the lovers heat the inn in their first night together and our FL asked naively if there was a need to put a heater in that weather. So hilarious. We only saw a glimpse of the romance of this couple but it brought a lot of spice to the narrative. The widow lover and the servant lover were very well matched so I could really visualised what Madam Merchant was telling our FL about it ππ (On another note, is it not ML/Jong Won facial features amazing? he looks like a walking-painted portrait! π)
It is not so obvious and anyway, it's not like the courtroom already condemned him. The debts he had to pay were…
Yes, sponsorships are lost very quickly after an event that affects the reputation of the brand ambassador, I was referring to the branches of his clinic he opened around the world. There is even an image they show about it at the beginning. I imagine those centers with their local doctors and personnel. In real life, these function differently and are ruled by the national laws.

It looks in Korea this is the case, still, he has franchised all over the world. As we know these work independently from headquarters so the fact that everything has to be closed is exaggerated to create this instant melodrama in my opinion. Look at the cases around the world. Something that comes to my mind quickly, is the scandal of phone hacking in the British Press, one of the newspapers belonging to R Murdock closed but not all the rest of his magazines and media business. I am sure there are better examples in real life, of course, this is fiction, so they are bending the whole narrative to create the storyline. For me, this is lazy writing to jump quickly into the next stage and explain the obvious plot: nemesis becoming lovers. Not very original either but K dramas are really repeating themselves lately so let's just enjoy what it is to come.
Ep 1 - I reserved judgment on this one. Started alright, with Hyung Sik showing his usual charm, engaging, sweet expressions, lovely as a student, but the script really went downhill when he was accused. It was so obvious that he was framed, that the anesthesiologist was on it. Why K dramas insist on portraying their police force and prosecution in such insulting way? These are the easiest resources to create the obvious melodrama. OK I know this is going to be over soon, and we will be jumping into one of those villages kind of dramas that we have seen a bunch lately but that could be a nice ride. I have my hope for the 2nd ep.
Ep 4 and Haruta and Maki keep bringing the sweetest and funniest interaction ever. Their shopping dating was a treat! and Haruta trying to pack himself in Maki suitcase, adorable. They are both such green flags, they trust and love each other unconditionally. Kudos to the great acting of Tai Tanaka and Kento Hayashi in the roles of Haruta and Maki . It is their third collaboration together in this "franchise" and they look like a couple of great friends having so much fun in the behind-the-scenes videos. For those fans of Thai BLs, we have a very popular Thai CP as guests in this episode.
I cannot wait for Episode 6!!!! The epilogue for Ep 5 was my highlight, with the evil mother in law scolding our FL that she has to behave like the other widow and Fl knowing/seeing clearly how the other widow truly behave with her servant lover, FL then asked "just like her?" Oh well, that evil mother-in-law is putting the right thoughts in our FL! ππ (I cannot wait for our super FL to get together with the gorgeous ML!)
