In China, it is better not to assume any actor sexuality. They will be cancelled if they come out as gay. It could be personal choice to staying in the closet too. It happen everywhere. In China, at level of general population LGBTQ+ communities co existent without problem, yet, in mainstream media they suffer invisibility because government guidelines.
ShuHe and ZiAng - who was right, who was wrong While the series was airing and now more recently, there have been polarising views on who was right and who was wrong. I read below the reply from @Jasprin to another post with a detailed account of the relationship between ShuHe and ZiAng that it is a must read. So I would like to add that ShuHe and ZiAng are multi layer characters that love each other deeply from their own shortcomings. Regarding ShuHe from the beginning, he told ZiAng who he was and the weight he felt for being the 6th Prince. Yet, until then, Shu He had been negotiating carefully to be relieved from his royal duties. (e.g. discussion with the abbot at the beginning). That was his dream and when ZiAng arrives he was including him in those plans, but then ZiAng got into trouble and ShuHe in order to protect him had to submit to royal duties. So it is quite unfair that ZiAng does not get ShuHe since at this point he is sacrificing his own dreams for ZiAng sake. Episode 8 clearly separates our two viewers' experiences in this series. It is unforgettable and piercing. ShuHe finally accepted the truth about ZiAng and he expressed it like this: "You not only wanted the fall of the South Kingdom you have to fill it with my heart and my body". By that time, they had been lovers for 3 months and at no point ZiAng attempted to tell the truth except in the moments before the events in the bridge - too little, too late. ZiAng went even further committing murder and not even sparing ShuHe of the great deal of satisfaction he felt of finally avenging his family, disregarding the complex and painful emotions ShuHe was feeling at this moment. The argument that ZiAng wanted to protect ShuHe by committing murder is not entirely truth. ZiAng was an expert swordman and he could only injure and take ShuHe away, but his mission and his aim was to kill. So he did. I love both characters but ZiAng was a bit of a handful. He only knew how to resolve problems by the sword, trained as he was as an assassin. We will see this until the end of the series.

Season's greetings everybody! I am taking the work holidays to re-watch this series, which is always a good idea. I did not realise that YSL was taken by FX sex appeal since the first second he opened his car window after YSL smashed FX car. Really important element here as what it will unfold is not YSL being a silly man, but a man that is being pulled by attraction. With that subconscious desire in him then he was destined to have a clouded view of FX's actions
They have a good storyline, but they decided for idols that are cute, sweet and really beautiful, with lots of chemistry but I am afraid they are lousy actors. So at moments was painful to see them go through the motions and not really feeling their characters. We have had idols turned actors that have delivered sound performances like Rei Sawamura in Happy of the End. It helps he was partner with Beppu who is a very good actor. Even Keito Keimura and Jyutaro, both idols, did a better job in Ameiro Paradox. I wish for everybody to pass from watching idols BL JP to those performed by seasoned actors like My Journey to Killing You and of course the recent 10 Dance. What a difference, doesn't it?

YSL does feel pleasure but also he feels even worse after this. In ep 12 YSL is even clearer: you are a piece of my bedding he tells FX. FX has a role in YSL bed. This is a dark story of desire in extreme circumstances. For both FX and YSL sex is a language in which both express their different levels of emotions, from dark to light. It is a" fighting demons" ground.

They look absolutely gorgeous in ancient costumes. I think they can pull both. Regarding modern Chinese dramas they are notoriously not very good and they even have been criticised by the government for promoting false values (poor getting rich, poor girl married CEO etc). So it is all depends if they find a good modern script and good characters to play. I like some of those that are not romantic like Sword Rose about the rescuing of trafficking children, or We Love in Spring, it is romantic but the characters are really multilayer. They have to be characters quite differently from their "real self" as they tend to come across as a bit goofy (though sometimes very sexy/flirty too)π

For most of us here in the forum, particularly for those fantastic friends that have stayed from the very beginning trying to keep this forum "alive" (@Yerisina, Jasprin, River 11, Boho, Kacce_Otis, AlexCruzdeMalta, and many more, apologies if I am missing names) , Kill to Love have been a revelation and a source of joy and tears. A series to rave about, a production team to be so grateful to and two leading actors that have moved us to the core with their performances, dedication and loving personalities: ZheXu and Mi Jin. Some time ago there was this ridiculous gossip about the "compromising" bts of the series. It was nothing like that. Just the usual social media hype to boost some accounts. Xu and Jin are blessed with an emphatic relationship inside and outside the set that create that chemistry that we appreciate so much, but they were professionals through and through; so nothing that come from it was "compromising". They were just two novice actors in their first full romantic leading roles, and onscreen kissing.
