I understand the 2nd timeline and I totally agree with AngelaSaRang's explanation about the ending below, but somehow I can't wrap my head about the 1st timeline.
There's the voice recording which was taken when Mina threatened Saet Byul, but she only did that in the 2nd timeline. What was the voice in the 1st? Did she get kidnapped at once? Then how did Saet Byul end up with grandma? If not, how did she know to run away, when she was running to the nanny smiling?
Second, why did it have to be Saet Byul in the 1st timeline? The jewelry wasn't even found then - Dong Chan and Soo Hyun discovered it only in the 2nd timeline.
It's also a stretch for me to believe that 1st timeline Dong Chan would cover for his mom. 2nd timeline Dong Chan would totally do that, but in the 1st timeline the missunderstanding was never solved and he hated her.
Are there some details that slipped my mind?
Amazing drama. Tal Tal is the best... I wonder, will he ever confess his feelings for Nyang?
Let's see... The Emperor catches Nyang and Tal Tal, that's why he turns on Tal Tal (instead of assumed treason) but he can't quite bring himself to expell Nyang. Tal Tal escapes when in exile and Nyang can't bear being without him, so when she vanishes later on, she actually joins Tal Tal and they live somewhere quietly, happily?
I demand a fanservice special! xD Ah, but reality is cruel...
Definitely looking forward to the movie. I wonder how they'll end it though, as the manga is still ongoing.
All the cast seems to fit pretty well, especially Toma. Only Honda Tsubasa doesn't really match imo. But I like her so I hope it'll work well.
I really hope Ta Hwan finds out about Maha. If Nyang had chosen not to reveal Maha's identity, he'd probably be crown prince. But she chose Ta Hwan's son over Wang Yoo's son. Should be proof enough of her loyalty to the Emperor, no?
On a different note, I wish people would stop talking openly about stuff they all know just so somebody else who doesn't know can overhear it. Seriously, there must be better ways to expose info!
It finally started today and looks pretty good! The focus is a lot more on revenge than on the medical aspects, which is a relief.
Asumi's methods are questionable but it's really easy to root for her and the drama made sure we wouldn't be able to feel any sympathy for the bad guys. Yay for badass Juri!
People who harp on and on about second leads ultimately end up being suckers. That's why I NEVER, ever have any…
The last two dramas where I rooted for the 2nd leads were Oohlala spouses where the male lead was a horrible cheater and then just got a personality transplant without visible reason, which didn't save him for me, and To the beautiful you. The last case I blame majorly on the actors, because Min Ho was really stiff and I'm Lee Hyun Woo biased anyway - and I was team Sano in the Japanese version.
I think they did a pretty good job with the 2nd leads in EC because they never got annoying and I even actively liked Ji Hye.
My point is just that I don't think it's fair to say "you can't like 2nd leads because they are all stupid and unrealistic", because that's not true.
I agree that the 2nds are endlessly annoying here and in many other dramas as well, but I start each drama optimistic that it WON'T be that way.

I was fully on his side until recently. I loved how his dorky side shone through. But I've been rolling my eyes at his behavior a lot just now. Besides, she should first get a proper foothold and doesn't need a man for that.
If she's independent, wouldn't loving unconditionally be much easier then? I want her to stand on her own two feet and THEN have her romance - and I think that's what she wants, too.
But there are a few eps left and I'm pretty sure by the end she'll have things sorted out and I'll be on board the ship again^^

When you're rooting for the 2nd lead you know what will happen hence there is no real disappointment. It doesn't mean you enjoy the show any less.
I usually root for the main lead, but I'm not immune to 2nd lead syndrome because let's face it: sometimes the main leads are jerks and the writing fails to redeem them properly while the 2nd lead is perfect. Or it's just your preferance of certain actors.
2nd leads turning to bastards in the later part of shows is just a sign of poor writing, I agree. But a well-written love triangle can be pretty compelling and there are also 2nd leads who don't turn bad and are important for the story.
Here, I'm rooting for Ae Ra to be independent and ditch both the child and the man-child xD I know that won't happen. Just because that's not what will happen in the end doesn't mean you're stupid when you root for it anyway.
Oh man totally loved episode 15. I knew she was going to save him from killing himself. I was hoping she was going…
I'm glad she didn't blow the wistle. She has done that before, so the second time round would have had less impact. Calling his real name, though, was the first time =)
I laugh at the part one Min Woo aka Snake or Tae oh was arrested for drugs used. He doesn't look like he uses…
Wasn't he taking suspicious pills and looking majorly wasted when Saet Byul was in the car? I thought that's why his manager/friend was making such a fuss about her getting out and keeping her mouth shut.
They should consider wearing armors for protection instead of style. It's not the first time someone just gets shot through their armor! I thought they were supposed to be made of metal...

Very cute drama, but should have been shorter.
As far as I know there are no subs yet, but I'm sure there will be soon.
