@taemoon: I don't think that you conceiving the plot as confusing is because you're slow. It's because the reasoning for stuff is mostly vague and often doesn't make sense.
This drama is like a parody not of one specific show but dramas and movies in general and sometimes even the whole entertainment industry. Just don't take it seriously, then it's pretty funny with some genius scenes. Kudos to Hikaru for taking on the role of such a not-a-hero and committing wholeheartedly!
I never thought I could be this happy that the male lead of a romance drama ended up alone xD
I'm mostly just really glad Elena decided she deserved better treatment.
Well, pregnancy doesn't show for a while and you can kinda calculate about when you got pregnant. If she is, like, 5 weeks pregnant and stayed with Sota for about 2 weeks it won't show at all and she can be sure its not his. Don't know how long she actually stayed, but it seemed to be along those lines because she just discovered the pregnancy.
The lovey-dovey husband and wife is convenient tying of story threads though...
I think the drama took a lot of damage from the controversy... It seems like they wanted it to be a serious, heartwarming drama that adresses some sensitive issues. Then they got huge amounts of critics and just changed it to a fairytale instead. As a result they failed to make any point.
They complained about it being too unrealistic? Yeah, it sure got totally super realistic after that.
I don't mean to bash the criticism in general - I wouldn't want censoring. But that applies to both sides.
I like the 'no secret' thing, but it probably would have been difficult to portray on a character motivation and reasoning level. So yeah, I couldn't think of anything better either ;) They did handle that really well though. I can't remember another show where it wasn't abvious.
It's not actually true that you can't dye your hair and have to wear a uniform in highschool in general. The rules really depend on the school you go to and there also are ones that don't require uniforms. Usually better schools have stricter rules than less good schools. Strict schools may even ban make-up in general or earings.
The study hell depends on the year the students are in. 3rd year is study hell, but 1st years usually play quite a lot to relax after high school/middle school entrance exams. I don't remember what year they were in in Nobuta, but if they were 1st or 2nd years, then its not that far off from reality.
The club activities are definitely fun! Again, 1st and 2nd years do that freely, but 3rd years often have to quit to concentrate on studying.
I really hate how they use this song in the drama that goes something like "Pitiful, you're pitiful, really, because you cry when someone is nice to you". The lyrics are so inappropriate!! They actually even made a point in the drama how the kids don't want to be pitied and shouldn't be looked upon with pity only...
The promotional material for this movie is kinda totally missleading. I thought he would be the smart detective trying to catch the cat burglar, but that's not the case.
His 'smarts' and the police action are more along the lines of Level 7 civil servant (the drama), which is by any means not a good association in my book (and I'm not just connecting them cause of Joo Won).
Reverse, if you liked Level 7 you'll probably like this movie, too.

Haha, you'll enjoy that for sure! He's been lead in quite a few great shows.

Looking forward to Alice and long Goodbye the most, but I'll check out a few more for sure. Let's hope they are good!
