This lacks all the sensitivity Hirugao had. Don't try to find social commentary here! Situations are increasingly contrieved and absurd and nobody is likeable. It gets pretty ridiculous, but that's also why it stays entertaining enough, though I'm not sure if for the intended reasons. Chemistry is good as well, though Kuriyama Chiaki hardly contributes anything to it.

This is great in concept but the execution sadly falls short, both in the writing and in the directing department =( The story goes a few interesting places, but overall leaves most of its potential untapped and the ending is disappointing. I didn't manage to care for any character, not even the cute kid. The directing feels really dated.

Yes, doubt can destroy relationships, but Do Kyung didn't plant doubt. He caused a financial instability, which snowballed way beyond what he intended. I don't mean to justify his petty revenge, but what makes me be lenient on him on this is that he knows it was wrong and regrets it. In contrast, he sure didn't have qualms listening to the house recordings even after Hae Young made clear she didn't want to be spy-listened on, which I find very problematic.

I agree that the trend of bashing female characters is worrying! Sure, some of it can be attributed to the fact that female characters are more likely to be written superficially (which has slightly improved recently imo), but that doesn't cover it.
I don't think OHY#2 is deliberately being malicious or belittling our Hae Young either. To me it rather seemed like she doesn't notice how her actions affect Hae Young or other people around her negatively. So far we know her mainly based on two sources, both of which have had unpleasant experiences with her. So our knowledge of her is hardly unbiased or complete. I think we should give her the benefit of the doubt, especially since it seems like there is something more between the girls as well, which our Hae Young isn't aware of. Until we know the full situation she's not yet off the hook, but I certainly felt some sympathy for her. Though as long as she doesn't explain herself my sympathy is limited.
So far this show has done well in creating compelling characters so I'm optimistic they won't make OHY#2 a super cliched stock second female lead.
Of course I agree that the ways both weddings were called off suck and Do Kyung's revenge was plain wrong. But I don't think it's him alone who destroyed the marriage. Tae Jin didn't lean on his partner in a hard time and Hae Yong readily let him go, more concerned with her pride than keeping him. So their relationship was lacking to begin with, otherwise it wouldn't have been that affected by Do Kyung's action. I appreciate his conscience is giving him a hard time because of it though.
