they will def change many things: for example in ep 4 , also the elementary kid was killed in her home and discovered…
she looked like a child to me , and had the baby bear doll next to her too , her hand like a baby's hand so young ... idk what i know about the 8th murder is that it was thed murder who they wrongfully convicted someone for and he served 20 years in person ... and they said it was a copy cat killer and not the real killer so it was not even included in the 10 original hwaseong serial killings until the killer chun jae confessed with detail only a killer would know and they apologized to the wrongfully convicted ( as if that's enough for wasting his life and ruining the family's reputation which took the life of his brother a few month later)...... i mean i don't think they're sticking to details that much and that's fine ... maybe the one you're talkin about is the 8th victim of the original hwaseong muders which would be the 9th murder he actually commited if we add the one they excluded and framed someone else for
Affair with his dad so he thought they could be brothers and resented that
yeah i saw .. explains his behaviors but also damn he was so harsh .. must've regretted it .. but also i think he's not his brother's real brother either .. the commissioner .. so something is also going on ... his brother tells him to know his place .. . when he and his mom moved there she told him that he will now have a brother or something .. they're not on good terms
i see many people saying it could cha si yeong or the young detective ,, but they wouldn't go as far to make the killer from the force tbh ... it's messed up enough already .. the thing is that also the real killer was a youngster who started killing after his coming back from his military service , ik they changed many things .. would they not follow that either ??? also tae ju looks like he's holding back talking to the killer , like maybe he knows him , but he is too calm .. he is there like someone who has lost the fight and is not even trying to corner the guy or anything like profilers do , not trying to analyze or anything... just going with the killer's flow .. he even got emotional saying that he lost everything .. crazy enough if he killed more people close to him and if he lost it all in the process , the calm is so unsettling to me .. it's more like helplessness , the guy is unable to get angry or even feel disgust looking at the killer
the killer has long hair , is on the fair side , looks young after the many details of ep 4 everyone we have seen so far is a red herring ... none is the suspect ... just a feelings but can be wrong , i still don't trust some
Brace ourselves! Kang Taejoo said he lost everything. So everyone gonna die?
assuming the reporter dies then , his sister even, and maybe detective friends, cha si yeong ... dae ho's mom can be in danger too... his credibility as a police man, his own self even
I really think the killer is just a random guy because this is so heavily based off of the hwaseong serial murders…
they will def change many things: for example in ep 4 , also the elementary kid was killed in her home and discovered immediately it seems as we saw in the ep5 preview,
HOWEVER, the real case goes like this, horrific btw : the murder of an elementary girl was a significant part of the cases attributed to Lee chun jae, though it was not initially included in the original 10 Hwaseong Serial Murders In July 1989, the 8 year old second grader, went missing while returning home from school . For 30 years, her case was officially classified as a "simple runaway" or disappearance. During the 2019 reinvestigation, Lee chun jae confessed to her murder, stating he encountered her impulsively on a mountain while he was feeling suicidal. He used a jump rope from her shoe bag to tie her wrists before committing the crime.
Investigations in 2019 revealed that police at the time had actually found some of the girl's remains (including bones and clothing) just 5 months after she went missing but concealed this from her family and the public to avoid further scrutiny during the serial murder investigation.
So far, this is shapping up to become my most favourite kdrama this year. I love the direction, the acting, the…
i just have to agree .. i didn't even know about it because there was not enough marketing for it and yet so it is at the same league at the other popular ones .. man i just love k-thrillers
There's a serial killer, they know he targets young women at knight along a certain area but the only precaution…
lol no one know yet they didn't publicly warn anyone ... and yet according to the sources this is not even half as bad as what the real police did back then .... :( .. sad cases indeed
It sucks that so many victims are women. I know these are based on real cases but maybe having women detectives…
gotta be a super woman to beat this kind of serial killer and back in the day unheard of , besides they're following the true events .. there are many serial killer modern dramas with females catching serial killers as profilers or detective that i can think of like: tell me what you saw , the memorist, voice , many more check those out instead ... but not suitable in this one tho
at the beginning of ep 4 , i think if cha si yeong and tae ju were friends first and he resented his mom then it must mean he saw the mom with someone whom he knew , it could be that she had an affair with an uncle or even his father ... i think he's a grey character .. regretful towards tae ju but so used to using bad means to get what he wants ... like i'd say he will now be more consistent towards tae ju nonetheless his character will remain grey because like i said he is the Machiavellian " the end justifies the means " type and honestly another attempt to kill should happen in this ep and if i'm right , this is the right moment we'll make sure that gi beom is red herring if not suspect also it's besides the bag at the shop only indicates that one of them is it .. and i have a feeling that it's a retaliation kill ( min ji ) so either her or the brother or the killer near by heard talk to the detective and bribe him with the candy secretly and as revenge he put the candy to send a msg ... so things will get clearer for sure after this ep4 they won't stall focus on one person past 4 eps for sure ..i say one person cause i never suspected cha si yeong, he's another red herring ..
They might have changed from true events because when the drama starts it says 'purely fictional, any resemblance…
yes because in the real events back then he wasn't caught by the police in was only revealed in 2019 , that's why the main lead later look in the camera as if to send the killer a msg ... now this now instead korea now has the real killer who confessed to 14 murders and 30 r*pes and some attempted r*pe too because he was caught in 1994 after murdering his sister in law and had his dna match the hwaseong serial killer in 2019 ... so yes the drama will be different only terms of the killer identity being known but the crimes and police mistake won't
They might have changed from true events because when the drama starts it says 'purely fictional, any resemblance…
yes memories of murder ... i especially love the ending scene back then a d when i watched , lee chun jae the real serial killer wasn't caught just yet
They might have changed from true events because when the drama starts it says 'purely fictional, any resemblance…
yes it is based on the hwaseong murders ... i have been a fan since the movie and i read all about it ... what i was saying is that they can alter everything ..the scarecrow was something the villagers put up to curse the killer but in the drama ,as you saw they twisted it chillinglyy
it's honestly been very clear who he is ... and even if not ... this is not the intended point anyway .... also…
but y'all i had a nightmare about min ji ... i guess because yesterday i didn't react much after finishing the ep , i was numb because i had a bad feeling about her giving the candy to the detective and just her being a witness and her nonchalant behavior and i was too annoyed to even think of it ... but i guess it unconsciously made me so sad for her and detective collapsing that i dreamed of it.... and it is highly accurate how they depicted it and had him say the start of this whole life work was probably the day they discovered her body .... I'd say i'm lying if i didn't know she was next , they had to off someone who the detective personally knows to deliver the desired intense effect but .... given all the signs i should've known but i didn't know it would be so soon
maybe the one you're talkin about is the 8th victim of the original hwaseong muders which would be the 9th murder he actually commited if we add the one they excluded and framed someone else for

i think he's a grey character .. regretful towards tae ju but so used to using bad means to get what he wants ... like i'd say he will now be more consistent towards tae ju nonetheless his character will remain grey because like i said he is the Machiavellian " the end justifies the means " type
and honestly another attempt to kill should happen in this ep and if i'm right , this is the right moment we'll make sure that gi beom is red herring if not suspect also it's besides the bag at the shop only indicates that one of them is it .. and i have a feeling that it's a retaliation kill ( min ji ) so either her or the brother or the killer near by heard talk to the detective and bribe him with the candy secretly and as revenge he put the candy to send a msg ... so things will get clearer for sure after this ep4 they won't stall focus on one person past 4 eps for sure ..i say one person cause i never suspected cha si yeong, he's another red herring ..
