I liked it but didn't love it
Things I liked:
1 I think this was one of those dramas you can't easily rate and that for several reasons. The FL was cute, but again not a great actress and not cute enough maybe. I truly don't know how to describe what was lacking but there was something lacking. I'm not sure I'll care to check her other series. That is the measure for me of how I liked an actor or an actress. After a while I made my list with dramas of actors I loved.
2 The story now. Not too much substance but I liked some aspects of it, so again difficult to rate. I liked the struggling to find her path and I wanted her to succeed.
3 There was no story per se, but it's okay. I like wasting time with a fluffy plot when the leads have chemistry and they make me laugh. That's all I want sometimes. That said, I'm not sure the chemistry was good here although sometimes it was. The main problem is the ML. He's handsome and I know he can act, but it's like he restrains himself from doing so and that happens in other series as well. I just don't get it. I watch him in a reality series and he's so much better. Funny, relatable, you can't help but rule for him. I don't see that side of him in his dramas.
4 The professor and the whole lab part. I'm a sucker for that kind of setting. College, competition, research, so that part worked for me. The issue is I liked many things but didn't love any.

1 I hated the disease thing, though. Yes, I'm one of those who don't like rom coms mixed with serious issues. It always bothers me. Go for fluffy or for serious. You can mix a few not so serious issues, but not things like here that are too dark. On the other hand it was well dealt. See? One thing worked, one didn't.
