It ends happy in the novel. The novel is purely daily life with slice of supernatural in between. No conflict, no misunderstand, reacted well find out who she and even helping her keep order. So the adaptation changed a lot in that sense so who knows. They better give us a happy ending with all the angst they put us through.

If you want you watch it, just watch it. I’m new to Chinese drama and it’s interesting to see people swayed by ratings and public opinions on whether to watch something or not.

Yes she has innate strength. The only skill she has from being a butcher putting brute force hence why shorter knives worked better for her. The only fighting skill she had was some technique her dad taught her. Which later on in camp her father’s old colleague noticed in sparring with her and told her to expand on it cause he easily counter her moves and she didn’t really know anything else. She spars with the ML to practice.

In an interview she mentioned she changed her voice by two octave. So that’s why she sounds different

I am enjoying this drama! The coloring, costume, makeup, the world created and all the gorgeous actors. The whole thing is a visual feast. I like the pace but yet still seeing the leads slowly fall for each other… at least really understanding each other.

In the novel no conflict but not sure about the adaptation. Just gonna have to watch and find out. I’m excited though, the changes they made has been good in breaking up the monotonous of the daily life that was in the novel.

Me too! I thought with the rich color scheme they’d do overt filter.The entire cast are good looking and the director makes uses of it with all the face close ups

I remember ppl saying the FL fighting isn’t seamless. Well, that’s the point. She isn’t trained let along grew up in a Generals household to be exposed. Her fighting is raw and imperfect. Unrefined natural talent. So I hope that’s expressed well in the beginning to understand. Heck I saw someone saying FL jumping down from the roof was rough. Well, it’s not something she does normally so of course it’ll be unbalanced and graceful lol I hate the dramas wheee the character has no experience but yet their movements are so clean

If rumored date is 18th will we get announcement on the 11th. Assuming they follow legend of female general whose announcement was done a week before release date.

I love this drama and an easy rewatch for me. It’s also a drama I recommend to people who are getting into Chinese drama. It’s a fairly easy watch especially when winding down after a long day.
