Such an exhaustive review for something that's not worthing it! I appreciate the effort, are you into writing? Thanks,…
Thank you for reading .Constructive-criticism is something I hold dear into all my reviews in order to perceive an objective break down for readers. In all honesty I appreciate to some that my critiques may seem pointless. However regardless of how “ good” or “ bad” shows are perceived, I like to try to give a lowdown on where shows succeeded and possibly fell victim to dilemmas also. I’m a literary student so I must admit that I do like to waffle ! : D
I definitely agree with you. Its worth the watch as it was interesting and the young stars had amazing chemistry…
Thanks for reading and sharing your thoughts . I definitely agree with your point about episode duration - the series could’ve easily been fleshed out more with longer episodes :).
I’ve definitely not heard of this one before. ( I’ll have to check it out for myself!)
Thanks for reading! If you’re interested in older Korean movies similar to this one then I would also recommend checking out ‘ Sympathy For Mr Vengeance ’ (2002) by Park Chan Wook. It is darker and more graphic than ‘ A Cut Runs Deep’ but Wook covers the basis for some sardonic and satirical social critiques as well as some unexpected twists also.
Thanks for reading. I’ll appreciate that perhaps you haven’t read through some of my reviews before this one but I don’t base my critiques of dramas on subjectivity or personal bias. I mostly make my judgments based upon objectivity. ( One of the reasons why I used speech marks- “ sad” .) I mentioned this as a “ sad ending” mainly due to a wider shared view by the audience demographic that the finale is often perceived as upsetting.
My biggest problem was that the series tried to reimburse a lot of old and rebranded cliches from the 2000s without them necessarily making sense or fitting in with the character image.
This was recommended by NF but I dropped it early, too boring and tbh did not like the FL at all.
That’s fair enough. In all honesty I’m not normally one to speak subjectively but it did take me a few attempts to get past the first episode and even after that point I was at the crossroads whether to continue with it or not. I decided to do so in order to find out how the drama ends but I’ll admit that if the acting hadn’t been as good, I’d probably have dropped this one before the halfway point.
