Chen Qi is rapidly becoming my fave character right now. The actor is doing a amazing job at portraying this layered relationship with Amai. I want to know why he murders his foster parents but protects her. He clearly cares for her deeply. Maybe he kept her alive so that the Duke's line doesn't die out.

Now I wonder if the Duke and Duchess were killed by the unkept Emperor for political or military power.

I hope Reba gets a good rest before shooting her next drama. Idk but these last few years prior to her latest hiatus, I felt like the light had left her eyes a bit. I could see it in her red carpet appearances, photoshoots etc I feel for the pressure she's under with antis, media, agency which is immense, especially from the government who have painted her to be the poster child for Uyghur both nationally and internationally. We can all see it. All that gets heavy and with the peak international intrigue, it's only going to amp up. It's no wonder she is guarded with her time and private life. There's only so much she can have to herself that the world hasn't already stripped from her.

This complex relationship between Chen Qi and Amai needs to be explored.

I need both Amai and Yizhi to listen well to Mr Xu's advice. She can't be reckless nor use the lives of her fellow soldiers as a cushion for her revenge. She has a good natural instincts, agile thinker, adaptable, and just like Xu said, she can honed to be a Tiger. I don't have high hopes for the ML, only to stay alive I guess.

Also, as we get deeper into the story, I hope they balance out the comedic tone because its only getter darker from this point forward.

Nah they would never have her play supporting role to any younger actor. It would have to be someone like Yang Mi, Tong Liya, or Sun Li or someone in that bracket of influence. Even Zhao Liying played a villain next to Zhou Dongyu. It will likely be an ensemble cast and if that happens, I will be thrilled for her.

Playing second lead isn't going backward. Sure antis will say that but what's the difference between her playing the lead or the second? They are gonna hate regardless. Reba knows, companies, fans know, Reba has carried majority of her dramas. Validation from naysayers isn't needed. She wants development and playing a supporting character is not bad. I would love her to play in an ensemble cast alongside veterans because its an indication she is playing serious and layered characters like she wants to.

Even if the second lead isn't likeable, her acting will be better because of it. I envy actors who get to play villains because their character capacity is limitless as opposed to an archetype hero. They are usually unpredictable, mysterious, multi-dimensional, and overall the most memorable in a plot. She has said before that she would like to play a villain, this might be her chance.

I like that idea but it's because these characters have the most character growth or are challenging to play. It's better to play second lead to someone who is far more experienced veteran so she can learn from them like Sun Li or Tong Liya or Liu Tao. Long gone are the days where we would see the likes of Hu Ge and Wang Kai in one drama or Hu Ge and Eddie Peng in one drama. I guess because they are all the same generation, but the toxic fan service demands weren't as prevalent as they are now so these big names did not care about playing lead or second.
