Tbh I have no faith in the script writer. His past works have been subpar, lacked character continuity and felt flat, relying on tropes to drive the overall narrative.
Were these her parting words? Lovely. I think playing this role has deeply impacted her.
Same, I truly feel the emotional attachment she has to TLB.
I believe this is the one role that she truly got to choose for herself. The character is also unlike other roles she played as much of Changge's demeanour and delivery harpers on being someone of great restraint - restraint of her fears, healing, and past.
I hope she gets to choose more challenging roles for herself. She's developing as an actress at such a great speed.
Just wanted to share a translation of Reba's parting words, courtesy of Tanguerlia:
Changge has come to an end, I'm very happy that everyone witnessed Changge's growth along with me. In my heart, Changge is an extraordinary girl. She's strong, unyielding, passionate, courageous, and skilled. Her fate never made her weak, instead she was stronger after each fall, and gave her a better sense of direction.
Li Changge, Li Shisi, Fourteenth Youth, Ah Li, they are all me, but they're not all of me. I hope I can be true to my heart and bravely go forward like they did.
I'm very honoured to have played Li Changge, thank you to all members of "The Long Ballad" crew for their immensely hard efforts!
Thank you to everyone for supporting The Long Ballad and giving Li Changge so much love and support. Changge and I wish you all the best, and hope you all find your paths ❤️
Finally, to Changge: After you go to the grassland I hope you won't be busy running around, eat a warm meal [hugs] eat some more lamb legs.
I had to come back to the forum after a little encounter on YouTube. Someone referred to Reba as only a "pretty face who wears revealing dresses" just to praise another actress. Nothing irks me more than when people pit actresses against each other.
I will give that a try because I love a good investigation story. Detective L was underrated but had an excellent storyline, breath-taking cinematography and wonderfully cast. Severely under appreciated.
Lol ... it's an awesome drama. HeGe is so good and Leo is so darn cute.Do also watch "Joy of life" ... another…
Same I adore Lin Qin. But I am fine even if the series continues to focus Fan Xian and his investigation into his mother's past and identity. I love roles that focus on individual character development and uses romance as an outskirt focus. Keeps my mind focused on the overall picture rather than just the one element.

This is why I Stan!
I had to rewatch the first episode only to see that smile Changge gives her mum and uncle. Because we get to see that smile very few times after that.
