HMM IDK what you point out as LY strength and why he is the best for her is actually his weakness, he has no spine. Which is why the mom is so wary, he won't only listen to his wife, we have seen he is a pushover and how easily YS bullied him. I am not sure what episode you are on but LBY has def shown CSS is so important to him. During the bandit attack after he was injured he had no reason to go save her at that abandoned house he could have sent his men but he went himself. Even the Emperor mentioned it in E16 a criminal escaped and he was hot on their trail but he noted CSS and her family in the line and knew they would be waiting for long so he actually turns his WHOLE crew back to escort her into the city. Leaving the criminal! More than the words he said, that act was so shocking to her parents that it made them question his relationship with her.


If I am to describe it, with LY she will be content, nothing will ever really be that bad maybe occasionally he will hurt her feelings for not being able to stand up for her in front of his family, but over all they will be okay. But something will always be missing, she will never be happy

I totally agree with your comment. She is very obviously scared by whatever it is she feels for the general. You can see in the scenes together she is always so nervous and breathless around him, it makes her uncomfortable but she doesn't realize that is a sign of feelings. LBY is a General who has seen so much of the realities of life unlike LY and CSS; so it's almost like he overwhelms her with his presence and she is going to have to learn to trust him and jump out of her comfort zone into that nervous shaky feeling he gives her.

Seems like a very interesting drama/ opening. We see a girl who has felt abandoned and unloved her whole life suddenly thrown into the real world where 3 very different men are in love with her. It has the makings of a classic hit i.e. strong, manly male lead and a sweet sheltered FL but it's been taken a step further because she is not the average girl; she can formulate battle plans and cauterize open wounds, but she likes pulling pranks and free-spirited. There is such a balance in her character that as she grows and the story unfolds you begin to understand why 2 of the three men are absolutely wrong for her.

I had just finished Long Ballad a couple days ago (After waiting for a whole year cause I was sad Leo Wu wouldn't be doing Fight Break Sphere season 2), and was wondering what to watch next on viki. I clicked Lusi's page and saw a thumbnail of her and Leo and I lost it (they were my two fave characters in Long Ballad).

The first episode blew me away already just because it was the actor's actual voices (something about this just makes me happy).

She refers to it in episode 16 though she mentions her mom and dad and her third aunt and uncle as a match made in heaven and they are lucky to find each other. But she is unlucky and if she misses out on A'yao no other man may want her

He has been mean to her from the start. Maybe because she returned his silk ball. he is being such a Tsundere but in a very not cute way at all.

Basically, she is bullied by a lot of the princesses, her character gets her in trouble because of the rigid rules of the palace e.g. things like concubines, eventually, they have to call off their engagement, and they are separated for 5 years during which she gets engaged to someone else.

I agree and disagree at the same time. The General had only met CSS a handful of times. LY proposed after spending months by her side rebuilding Hua County. When LBY and CSS were JUST getting to a point of seeing each other more/ familiarity i.e. when he rushed to Hua county to give the decree, she was basically already engaged to LY. So TBH like her mom said he barely even had time to recover from his injuries. So while you say LY was courageous, I agree because he definitely put effort into pursuing her, I don't think it's a standard to judge by. From what we have seen of CSS character she likes adventure and a challenge, something I am not sure if LY can give. As of now they seem very much like friends
