Takes a strong feminist stance.

If you got a room full of people, and asked anyone to sit down if their life has been touched in some way by suicide, you would find only a few people left standing. The reality is, most of us have been impacted by the suicide of a loved one , friend, colleague or neighbor.

It is the nature of human existence that at times it is very painful. But as it has been said, suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. How to tell the stories of the people, the hardships, the loss and at the same time, encourage people that life is still worth living, despite all these challenges?

What is more, this production goes further, by tackling head on the crisis of violence against women. It showcases in particular how throughout history, and to this day, women are blamed and shamed for the violence directed towards them, as if somehow they invited their abuse. In this respect, the series has a strong feminist message, something that takes courage in a country like South Korea where such messages are even harder to make palatable.

Kudos to everyone involved in this project. It takes courage to take a stand and confront these painful kinds of conversations that need to be had, and yet at the same time, the series has to be watchable and enjoyable enough to keep people entertained, because first and foremost, a series has to be watched to make an impact.

The fashion in this series is really top notch, I think the wardrobe department got to have fun dressing the grim reapers. I also enjoyed the soundtrack a lot. Attention to details - the whole production is really professional, all the way though.

Overall, this is a really great production. It has to provide of enough of a story line. enough light moments, enough humor, enough warmth to keep you engaged and motivated to keep watching when the central theme is something most people would rather not think about: suicide. Yet at the same time it has to be serious enough to respect the gravity of scenario. It's a delicate balance and I think they stayed on the right side of respectful but watchable.
