Title The Road to Splendor Spoiler
I didn't expect this development so soon in the series but I am all for it!
I donโ€™t understand why you all say you didn't expect this. (Though I blame the screenwriter for this. She never showed his brutal side till now).
He's been outlaw for most of his life and has been fighting bloody fights. Jianghu is brutal. I had been waiting for this side of him to be shown in the drama.
But the important part that this drama was trying to show us from the beginning is that even an outlaw can have a set of morals and a chivalrous heart.

Everybody knows she is engagned to him. It's not a hush hush matter.
In those days, when someone becomes betrothed, it becomes legally binding.
Breaking an engagement, was a rather huge thing too. Causing damage to a girl's reputation.
Cohabititing was not normal but under special circumstances it's fine because he's mostly at the army and their rooms are seperate, it's okay.

I'm confused!!!The real Pervert was Madam Zhou's second husband right? Lord Li? She was protecting him? Why protect…
Because catching her brother causes less damage to her reputation than catching her with an unrelated man.

I'm thinking about starting this drama because it seems interesting. Do you guys recommend? Can you maybe tell…
The drama peaks around ep 4 and it has a lovely story.
The story is about growth and bonds.
In terms of story, I haven't watched sth similar to this story but in terms of vibe, it's similar to Blossom, and A Splendid Match.

Red flag? You see a military man killing a murderer as red flag? Also, he's been a criminal all his life. He always…
He was utterly furious.
He was furious in ep 13 too. Too furious that even his eyes became teary.
He couldn't accept the injustice that Lu inflicted upon innocent people. And he lost control there too but couldn't kill him yet. Lu had more people and Zhao Ling had no chips to bargain later.
But in ep 14, he had the chips to bargain! :)

Wow I felt literal goosebumps watching ep 14 who knew Zhao Ling could be such a red flag when it comes to people…
Red flag? You see a military man killing a murderer as red flag?
Also, he's been a criminal all his life. He always has had this side to his enemies.

He is still jiuweijiao. That hasn't changed. Specially after that ep that he declared he's the real jiuweijiao…
Yes. He came clean in front of the Crown Prince but it doesn't change the fact he has declared to Jianghu that he is the real deal.

I think YJX will focus on this in upcoming episodes.

WHAT ZHAO LING KILLED LE DAHU WHAT WHAT WHAT. I'm so shocked that actually happened. I'm in so disbelief, why…
Why wouldn't he do that? The man was a trash and a murderer.
In the novel, he wasn't the yandere type but he was definitely vindictive when it came to his family.

Title The Road to Splendor Spoiler
I am on Ep 11 and why are they still calling him Jiu ye?? (9th master)...Everyone knows now he wasnโ€™t Jiuweijiao,…
He is still jiuweijiao. That hasn't changed.
Specially after that ep that he declared he's the real jiuweijiao and everyone should remember him by his face not the token, then he officially became jiuweijiao.

Also, in the novel, we didnโ€™t have this jiuweijiao. He was called Jiu Ye because he was the ninth child in his family.
It seems in the drama they have omitted his past so they needed another reason for him being called Jiu Ye.

Which one? A Journey To Love?
Its ending wasn't good but "the Journey" was quite heartwarming and enjoyable. :)

For a historical one... A Journey To Love. Starring Liu Yuning and Liu Shishi. A very beautiful show with a beautiful couple and brotherhood bonds.
I would recommend a modern drama too: Moonlight starring Ding Yuxi and Esther Yu. I loved their relationship and its progression and how the ML was so clueless about showing his love and always consulting his best friend.

I was interested because I thought this was going through crisis together type of drama but previews are worrying…
Those are previews... (though I haven't watched because well previews are tricky).

So it means that the drama is doing okay in China?
Such a pity.
But somehow I understand why.
