It's quite long and the translation isn't that good and it's mostly from Tingyun's pov. The drama adaptation is quite different.

No it wasn't like she threw him actively. The temple incident was there (though a bit different...) but from that moment on Mo Yi was the one who set his eyes on him. In the drama she actively is doing it after temple incident.

I think that's bc in the novel Mo Yi was like either you're with us or you shall be killed. Tingyun found out and in order to save him, made him accept Mo Yi's offer to join them.
He then succeded in his career and got promotions one after the other.

I like that actor. 👌 I've seen him in many dramas.
