Can someone who has read ChongQi please tell me the differences between drama and novel? Like when Wu Xie found out about his illness? Incidents in warehouse 11? Who is Huo Daofu? Liu Sang? Bai HaoTian?

He clearly wanted revenge and he knew that only WWX could solve it (He knew how clever he was since school days in Gusu.). He loved his brother so much and was the dearest to him.
The thing that was buried inside the temple was JGY's mother. NHS wanted to dismember the corpse of someone who is the dearest to JGY in order to exact his revenge.
I first read the novel then watched the show. In pilot episode when he clearly longed for Lan Zhan after rebirth, I was truely shocked! Because in the novel WWX was afraid of him and didn't want to run into him bc in his previous life he thought LWJ will always be on the opposite side and scold him... He didn't want to go to Gusu at all and when LWJ took him back, WWX wanted to cause trouble in order to be kicked out! ... LMAO... They altered the story a lot... I don't like it... WWX was the founder of diabolism but in the drama he was clearly not the founder and he was not scary at all. In the novel he called walking corpses to kill for him. He made the corpses of just-killed Wen soldiers to fierce corpses to kill their own people. The weaker walking corpses were afraid of him and they would run away from him! He could turn paper puppets (in Yi City) into very strong soldiers to kill for him. And that dismembered corpse... Why they turned it into those ridiculous swords??? The drama had many technical problems too... Anyway... the only things that kept me watching this drama was WWX's actor (it was like he himself came out of the novel) , Yunmeng trio and WangXian moments. This is a heart-wrenching story and if I want to rate just the emotional part of story, I would give it 10/10.
I'm at episode 41 and since it is a whole episode with Meng Yao, I wish I could skip it. Really. I've been watching…
He IS a clever charismatic villain in the novel. I loved him so much in the novel. He always smiles in the novel bc he wants to please everyone and at the same time trick them all. But his smile is very natural and pleasing to others in the novel but in the drama he doesn't have natural-innocent-smiling looking character... I was really disappointed... He was so natural that he fooled almost everyone including Lan XiChen. That's why Xue Yang said that "I have a friend that his acting is way better than me". Lan XiChen is the most innocent character in the story and he is too nice and forgiving and Meng Yao was good to him genuinely bc of his kind character. Lan XiChen was the only person who treated Yao like a normal person not a "Son of a whore".

The story is interesting. Acting is good. But some don't like YSY's acting. Because they think it's overacting. But I personally like it and laugh a lot bc of that. That's his character. He's supposed to be a gangster-bad-funny guy who's pure in heart. So I think the overacting thing is intentional. You should see it for yourself. You'll like or hate it! XD
