If it follows the novel then they'll come to capital too. Madam Wang was kinda a bestie with FTY. Madam Mo is a special character in the drama though. I don't remember her much. Mo Yi had such a presense in the novel. He would drag ZL anywhere. I hope we get to see this dynamic in the drama too.
any novel readers ? I am planning to read the novel π but before I just want to ask , is there many misunderstandings…
No misunderstandings. They were very loving and always confided with each other. There were some moments but Zhao Ling really would get uncomfortable when she was upset or angry and he always tried to comfort her so that she would become happy again... But the translation is not good and if you have some Chinese knowledge would be better to understand the errors in translation. It's machine translated. The novel is very long and for 2/3 of the novel you see Zhao Ling only occasionally. He's mostly at the frontier. The story is a slice of life of FTY actually and how she fares in the capital dealing with other bigshot officials' women. The couple would mainly communicate through letter though. You see, they weren't actually together much (though married) to have the time to even misunderstand... ππ€£ That's why I like the drama better. We see more of ZL here. I'm so glad.
I will be completely honest - Iβm not sure if I can keep my hopes up for this Capital arc since itβs probably…
This follows the original novel and I expected it. I loved their pre-capital arcs more too even in the novel I loved them more. All that building up was so to get them to the capital though. At least here I can see more of Zhao Ling unlike the novel.
Zhao Ling and his team never killed anyone. Why did Zhao Ling lie about the merits. I guess that Yu bastard is…
That scene when he was crying over what to do with what Yang Yucheng did was utterly heartbreaking... He still made the wrong choice and it must've been so hard on him to make such choice... I was bawling the entire ep 17... π
It's definitely not a typical idol drama. The locations are real and camera angles and direction are very good.…
Have you read the novel? I think it pretty much has the same scaffold (though they differ a lot) but ZL's pov is mostly written by the screenwriter because in the novel we didn't have much of his pov. So what interests me the most in the drama is ZL's story and so far I'm happy about it. I was afraid they would skip it just like how the author did. I actually think the screenwriter has done a pretty good job regarding the script so far.
I had such high hopes for this show but it's become a generic idol drama after all π
It's definitely not a typical idol drama. The locations are real and camera angles and direction are very good. The storyline is also unique. And the cast deliver what they're supposed to deliver; actually they're brilliant.
Madam Wang was kinda a bestie with FTY.
Madam Mo is a special character in the drama though. I don't remember her much.
Mo Yi had such a presense in the novel. He would drag ZL anywhere. I hope we get to see this dynamic in the drama too.
All humans have their own prettiness... it's extremely subjective...
Odd...

That scene gave me a lot of emotions. It's hard to describe.
He'll reach his goal to become a respectable man and that's enough already.
I loved their pre-capital arcs more too even in the novel I loved them more.
All that building up was so to get them to the capital though.

Damn politics...
