This is true, he is definitely not the only one, but he keeps being trusted with big projects involving a huge cast so when he makes these errors, back to back they’re so obvious for everyone to see. Maybe they need to scale down his work or start trusting him with smaller series until he improves his skills
I’m starting to think that someone needs to have a serious sit down with New Siwaj. Not sure if it’s because he’s incompetent or what, but he keeps making questionable choice after a questionable choice, especially in his last 3 series We are, Fourever You & P10L. The only thing that saving his shows is the acting and chemistry of the actors; we saw that with Maxky & Bas and now with Perth & Santa who are doing the best they can with poor direction and poor scripts.
These are where he dropped the ball in my opinion: - Incapable of properly managing the separate arcs between couples. - Constant blasting of music, especially during intimate moments. - Excessive use of unnecessary sound effects every single moment. I understand using them to highlight key actions, but not every single time they blink or turn their head. - Completely ignoring the source material from the books and just doing whatever with the script. - Letting obvious and easy fixable errors ruin the viewers immersion such as heavy make up on the artists, constant changing hairstyles, makeup left on characters clothing etc - Butchering the storyline by wasting time on irrelevant plot points while rushing at the end through important parts of the ML‘s story and character development. - I’m sure there were things that could have been fixed with the script writers and the production team, but you’re the Director it’s your job to see the overall picture and take control of these things.
And this is just the few things I noticed as a non-expert. Honestly, I thought people had been exaggerating when they talked about New’s directing, but after the fiasco of the last two episodes, I am in full agreement. Something needs to happen. I’m already dreading how he’s going to butcher ReVamp and Forever you P2.
