This is a very good period drama. Although it is a solid drama for content and performances, and the actors did a great job bringing these characters to life, the romance lacks energy. If you are looking for romance, this is not the drama that will satisfy that genre. The story is about Wei Yingluo and her journey from palace embroiderer to Imperial Noble Consort. The drama explores the dynamics within the Emperor’s harem and how everything is related to the never-ending schemes to gain the Emperor’s favor. Although Yingluo, through a series of unfortunate events, becomes one of the Emperor’s women and eventually falls in love with him, she buried her true love, Fuca Fuheng, in the most inner part of her heart to pursue justice for his sister, Empress Fuca Rongyin, whom she regarded and loved as her mentor and sister. This is a great law and entertainment industry mixed romcom! The lead couple has great chemistry and portrayed their characters very well. The drama instills all kind of emotions and the characters are fun to watch. Although it has some dramatic moments, this drama is a comedy that will become serious at moments. This drama is not to be compared with intensely developed dramas; it is a light romantic comedy that, although it offers many good lessons, it is really about emotions and a leading lady that, even though at sometimes seems aloof, has a strong heart and a loving personality that will really “Touch Your Heart”. The drama could’ve been done without the clichéd breakup and separation that, although it was short, it brought the “I am inspired” feeling down a notch. Episode 14 was the “icing on the cake” and it could’ve easily end there! Still, the drama is fun and entertaining. Enjoy it! Was this review helpful to you?

Good drama. SPOILER ALERT: Although is an open ending and the leading lady can be annoying here and there, it is a fairly good drama! The storyline is solid and there are some good twists. The lead actor could have been a little less stiff but he did well overall. The supporting actors did very well too, especially Fingal Fu as detective Li Yan Zhi and Aro Yang as Feng Dong Dong. The nine stars are only because of my personal dislike of open endings, if not, I would have given ten stars for entertaining. Watch the second season; it flows nicely from this one's ending. Enjoy it! Was this review helpful to you?

This is a good drama that missed the chance to be a great romantic story. Although it has too many episodes, the supporting cast stories are nice. The main lead couple has good chemistry but plot was full of depressive attitude from the female lead, even if her character was written like that, their dramatic life became frustrating and her indulgence and self sacrifice for everyone else was overly extended and it got tiring toward the end. Forgiveness for his mother and embracing her selfishness was ridiculous. Even then, the cast did a great job delivering their characters. It is really not a bad drama to watch while waiting for a better one. Was this review helpful to you?

Love After Love is a romantic miniseries that, although it has a nice premise and no major issues affect the leading couple’s relationship, the leadings couple’s romantic interactions were good but the leading lady's facial expressions were somber for most of the drama. The plot has a leading male that is overly considerate but fails to explain things in due time in order to avoid misunderstandings. Of course, these situations and characters are part of a poorly written story that could’ve been much better. There are too many things going on at once and the romance, once the lead couple gives in into their feelings for each other, although it is not lively, it is beautifully gentle and steadfast.
