I have to agree with you for this series. I am thinking that it is the script or the way the show was directed because both Li Man and Ren Jialun are good actors. I have seen them both in other shows prior to this one.
I hope that I am wrong, Ye Chong's brother may not be as faithful as he seems. And he may be the traitor of the Party. I am liking their relationship, so I hope this does not happen, but from today's episode it seems so. Also what secret agent divulges to his enemy that he knows that they are watching him!
I am annoyed with the entire situation of this series. Ren Jialun and Li Man does not have chemistry in this show, unlike The Little White Snake. Her character is wasted in this show. The advertising was way over the top for this one. Also, the series should be available simultaneously with and without subtitles (meaning equivalent episodes across the board). I am going to stop now.

Hmmm... I have so much I want to say at this moment, but I should probably just watch the show and say them at the end of the series. But I will say that, I am not sure how I am feeling about this series right now.
This was a very devastating time in history. Definitely sad and tragic times!!!! The first two episodes has already set the stage for this. Not sure where they are heading with this series though. Feel the suspicion of Li Man is too soon in the series.

Well, because I have become a C-Drama fan, I am VIP on iqiyi. So it seems that the video is load on iqiyi, but only in Chinese. It is not available for US users. I also saw Episode one on the youtube channel you posted, but only in Chinese. It is not on Viki either. This is crazy, we should be able to see dramas anywhere once it is released online.
Just read an update list of the top five drama airing in May and Autumn Cicada is on the list to start May 4, 2020. :) I am super excited. I have no idea when I became a C_drama or Ren Jialun fan, but I am loving it.
Just finished Season 1 and 2. I had a feeling while I was watching Season 1 that the end pair would be Xiao Fan and LuXueqi. But do not see how that will happen and after reading the synopsis of Season III, I am highly disappointed because they did not show in season 1 and 2 that Xiao Fan only cares about Bi Yao, they showed that he loves Bi Yao. Season III has me feeling some kinda way.
I want to watch this as well. I found it on YouTube, but no English Subtitles and not all parts. I also found it on Dailymotion, with English Subtitles, but all episodes are there. There are some episodes with no English Subtitles. There has to be an easier way to see C-Dramas and with English Subtitles.
