I know they love calling us toxic, but from what I've seen, most of us only speak up when we're defending ZLH from misinformation or malicious narratives. We don't jump into every fandom fight involving other actors, yet somehow every piece of ZLH related news attracts people trying to twist a positive moment into something negative.What frustrates me the most is the pattern. First, they attack his looks, his popularity, or his achievements. When fans push back and defend him, they suddenly act like they're the victims. They conveniently ignore the comments that started the whole thing, take screenshots of the responses, and present them as if ZLH fans attacked unprovoked.

It's a dishonest tactic. If you're going to show receipts, show the entire conversation, not just the reactions. Leaving out the original insults and misinformation while highlighting only the defensive responses creates a completely false narrative.

The superiority complex is obvious when some people act as if their favorite is the center of the industry and everyone else should know their place.  If they r truly confident in their favorite's position, why be so concerned about every actor who's doing well?That's why a lot of these attacks don't come across as confidence to me,they come across as insecurity disguised as superiority.

Right? From what I've seen, some of his fans come across as very insecure and act like they have a superiority complex. At the same time, that superiority often seems to stem from an inferiority complex whenever a rising actor starts gaining popularity or topping charts. Instead of simply supporting their favorite, some people seem more focused on tearing others down to protect their perceived status.
I've seen this happen around several events—the Foundation general, the Gucci event, and now this TBT BTS clip.
One of the most bizarre comments I saw was:
"ZLH, you should show respect to your seniors with a good attitude. Don't try to stand in front or in the middle since Zhan Ge is there. So rude."
I was like... he was literally one of the hosts of the award show. Ironically, they constantly feeling threatened by every rising actor doesn't project confidence,its exposing their insecurity instead...

I'm here to rant about my frustration with those two insecure actors' fandoms who are allegedly posting shit about Zhang Linghe. I wish they suffer more than us in the future. It's frustrating because even the haters know there's nothing inappropriate in that scene, yet they're still acting like sleazoids. I want to smack all those idiots out there.

I'm waiting for the day their gege gets into a controversy—I will devour those moments. If God is there, I hope they face their karma soon. It's unbearable and such cheap behavior from them..

Most importantly, those Xiao Zhan insecure fans will do anything and stoop to another level of stupidity just to drag Zhang Linghe with full of jealousy,but  I'll wait for karma to beat the shit out of them soon.

You know, after reading the novel, I actually felt the drama should have a happy ending,but with each of them moving on separately, not ending up together. After everything they went through, especially Princess Wenyu's repeated coldness and the way she treated him, I just couldn't feel any genuine love or warmth from her. They don't deserve each other, in my opinion. Sorry to say it, but that's honestly how I felt after finishing the novel,it seems they've changed some scenes from the novel, and the trailers have given me high hopes. So, for now, I'm not giving up on the drama.

Exactly. I think they're waiting for the right momentum, and honestly, I feel it's better that they postponed it. There are a bunch of highly anticipated dramas coming out in early July, so releasing Overdo later could give it more room to shine instead of getting lost in the competition...

As a new Zhang Linghe fan, I quickly noticed how one particular fandom seems desperate to prove that their favorite is the only one ruling C-ent, while other actors are just “overhyped.” After the huge success of POJ, I saw a flood of negative comments from that fandom across Facebook, X, and Threads. I saw some bizarre comments from them like, “Zhang Linghe should respect that 2019 hit guy at the Magnolia Awards,” and “The cheers at the LA/New York event are for my favorite, not Zhang Linghe.”

I came across a lot of comments like these. It felt like they feared Zhang Linghe was becoming more popular than their favorite actor. Once I exposed @centgossip on X as a fan of that actor and for hating Zhang Linghe, the next moment I was targeted by a bunch of people harassing me. But I’m glad they are now being exposed on Weibo along with Twitter.

I pray they shut down their accounts and face consequences for their actions. I even wish the police would reveal if any agencies are paying for hate against Zhang Linghe. I don’t know, but I feel like it could be XZ’s agency for male actors...

Yeah, I read the novel, and I can already imagine that the antagonist and the female lead are going to dominate the story. I can see them being far more menacing, cunning, and expressive than the male lead.

As a Zhang Linghe fan, I don't see Citang offering anything particularly new for his acting skills, and I think it's likely to receive the common criticism that the female lead and the villain carried the drama while the male lead had a routine role.
My only hope is that Zhang Linghe's studio allows him to explore and showcase new layers of his character. He is at his best when playing emotionally vulnerable characters, especially in dramas with a retro vibe.
Frankly, I hated the Citang novel. The cunning and toxic minister role has already been done by Zhang Linghe in Story of Kunning Palace, and the overall essence of the character feels very similar. Even the eye-related illness aspect reminded me of Maiden Holmes.
I hope his studio doesn't spoil his momentum by continuing to choose repetitive "red male lead" stories. I wish he would focus on more male-lead-centric roles from now on. Since the director seems very attached to casting him, we can probably assume that Zhang Linghe wasn't in a position to easily turn down this project.

Wanted to ask, does this incident cause Zhang Linghe to face backlash in Taiwan? I hope the Chinese government won't drag him into politics for its own agenda. I don't know why these sensitive topics keep getting linked to him. The success of POJ alone seems like a weak reason to keep bringing him into such discussions. Taiwan often invites him to visit, so it's all a bit scary. On one hand, I'm worried that some people (CCP)might use him as a scapegoat for political agendas.
