finished watching. It was so incredibly unique, from the storyline to the way that it was filmed and directed. liu haocuns performance made me tear up as always and vickey chen was spectacular props to the dads actor for making my blood boil this was vague many times but i got the gist of what was happening and it had no business being so sad
with a main cast so fine i was expecting better they didn't even try to show in the LEAST how this relationship was wrong on so many levels, unlike falling highschool girl and irresponsible teacher. There was no legit reason for the fl to love the ml and vise versa, no genuine chemistry or compatibility bw the leads that could make me want to root for them instead i was uncomfortable throughout.
rewatched uhg its cuter then i rememberedddd lhc is always such a treat to watch, and the chemistry with swl <33 so adorable you can see so clearly how much they mean for eachother i only wished they told why niannian got a low-ish score in her exams and why she was so quick to cut off yang yi, i feel like there was a lot unsaid, but hey love the movie 10/10
finished finally. One major takeaway i got from this is that xianxias are NAWTT for me. i skipped the last three eps for the last one, the ending was cute. The drama was good too but like, not enough for me to write a review. would i recommend? if you're into xianxias then yes, its a very classic xianxia same as they all offer, plus the good chemistry. 7/10
unpopular opinion: but i quite enjoyed the hairdresser/makeup storyline/arc like it made for great world building…
what im trying to say is without it JZY wouldn't have found a purpose or a way to ground herself in her new permanent life, she evolved into a less bratty person and as she became a better make up artist we were introduced to jiang bo, since his mother was connected to the entire lighthouse thing, all the pieces fall into place perfectly. imo it only added to the watching experience but i get why ppl say otherwise.
unpopular opinion: but i quite enjoyed the hairdresser/makeup storyline/arc like it made for great world building and it also connected to the main villain of the plot without being too sudden but still keeping the air mystery surrounding it all, ykwim?
