her acting can def improve, i think everyone has room for improvement i liked mu dai's character, to me she wasn't spoiled at all, i mean she literally had a second personality to take care of her, her switching between the two and the last moments together? she portrayed them well, although i agree sometimes the watcher is confused but bright mu dai was more carefree and happy rather than spoiled and dark mu dai was cold and rude. Maybe ppl dont get her understanding of both of the character and that's totally valid.
her acting in derailment had such an impact on me, like it never left me. She WAS a spoiled brat, then when she came into the alternate world, she didn't start behaving differently bcz from all she knew was a life of privilege and ease, seeing her struggle and be stubborn was very fitting for her character. when she found out the truth her whole shattered and she couldn't diffnernate what was real and what wasn't, lhc portrayed that perfectly. Jiang xiaoyuan was a super complex character and it was bcz of lhc acting i understood her.
and in PBIL, she is supposed to be emotionless bcz thats her character's whole trauma with her mother, the problem was that they tackled that issue too late in the story, and the leads had little EMOTIONAL development which made the chemistry lackluster at the start.
i think the main issue is that in between shots/acting she seems to pan/zone out and it takes away the impact of the scene and the watcher is left confused. she has all the time to fix that though in my opinion
all in all, shes def not a perfect actress but she has got the potential, she is amazing with complex characters, she just needs newer scripts and better directioning.

to be fair, ML didn't really explain himself either, to the FL all she knew was this was his childhood friend who he was previously engaged with and she sees him in her arms, yes she was ill but even to the female guard it looked bad for a prince consort. Both were wrong in that situation, the FL jumped to conclusions and the ML didn't care enough to stand up for himself. but if it helps, they don't gloss over her behavior in the later eps, the ml calls her out on her constantly wanting more power and influence in court and they have a good conversation. I'm so glad i stuck around bcz their chemistry is to die for.
i also hated how much they pushed the 2ml towards her, and the nostalgic music the in the bg, but i skipped all of their scenes they were very easy to ignore.
And the FL gets good development, she's as down bad for the ml as he is for her, plus i think what she feels for the 2ml despite what he did to her was always just sympathy, her father was the reason his family got annihilated so she felt some sort duty towards him which she mistook for the love/understanding she wanted from the ML. you'll get what i mean when u watch more eps loll 🤭

If she doesn't change how she was in the past, which is obviously so hard bcz old habits die hard, their relationship will end like the first time.
