man where do i even begin? this drama was everything i was expecting and more!
story follows a ''cold'' general and the daughter of an enemy, the way they gain each others trust, their love and their happiness.

things i liked:
-chemistry:
LYN and SZ did NOT come to play man, their chemistry is on fireeee, their sparkly eyes, the safe hugs, uhg they're perfect!.
as for the characters, i love that just for the sake of their romance, they didnt make the ML fall for FL too quickly and vice versa, its a perfect kinda slow burn, i liked that they overcame their mistrust and suspicions before allowing themselves to fall for eachother.

-the FL:
manman is the best! i personally dislike when they make characters soooo smart or cunning to the point it looks like no force in the world can stop them. With manman, they showed you can be smart and clever but still make mistakes, what matters is how you overcome them. I honestly felt for her this entire drama, how unsafe she must've felt staying in an enemies house, until she made it her own and won everyone's heart, not with her schemes or a facade but with her genuine love and care.

-the ML:
for the first half of the show he is so dense oml, like never has a ml made my blood boil sm and then also made me love him so much. His trust for manman despite what her clan did to him was amazing, he wasn't quick to let down his guard but manman really showed him shes worthy of his trust. I love how they communicate the second something goes wrong, it really helped them see each others true colors and sincere hearts.

-the story/plot:
politics may not be the main focus but i felt like it was. It doesn't only show how corrupt just some court people can be for their own gain it also shows how war is a tragedy for everyone, especially the innocent, the aftermath and the duration or wars is cruel and almost always something loved is lost, people are forced to leave their homes and there is chaos everywhere, i think them showing that was great.
moreover, the pacing of this was just perfect, i usually find politics so boring in dramas, but this was the first time i was seated and fully enjoying everything, from the little villains to the ''final bosses'', it was so enjoyable for me and great''

-the comedy:
dont remember the last time i laughed so much while watching a drama! the comedic timing are great!! every characters has so much more to their personality which makes them soo likable! wei liang, the three others generals and xiaotao in particular!

-The OSTs:
its so catchy, the lyrics make me blush and cry they're so cute. LYN the man that you areee 🤭🤭

weak point/things i didn't like:

-THAT one very unnecessary character death, two actually. taking away a whole point for this.
-her pregnancy was really fast lmfao, i couldn't keep count bcz one episode she was preggo,next she was already showing and the next boom the babies here?? haha didn't take away anything from the show, jst wished they did that better.

THE best coming of age drama ever, my favorite cdrama of 2025 so far! 1000000/10!!!

Starts with a group of kids living by a canal, follows their stories into adulthood, overcoming challenges, deal with love and life. This left a deep impression on my heart, something i can never forget.
i dont like the slice of life or coming of age genre a whole lot, but this? changed my mind , surprised me and blew me AWAYY

What I Loved:

* Chemistry between leads
-bro?!? anyone saying wange and fenghua had no chemistry is either lying or blind. I used to think childhood friends to lovers was a boring trope, this? PERFECTIONNNN. the scene in episode 36 still makes me sob, oh how i wish that was me.

* Emotional moments
-this drama made me laugh and smile more then it made me cry, the emotional moments are so well done the cinematography just added to it and every moment was raw, realistic and so real.

* Character growth
-portrayed the change of youthful energy to adulthood so well, i felt like i was growing up and finding myself with them.

* Dialogue and writing
-extraordinaryyyy!, no awkward moment or dialogue everything felt natural and beautiful.

* Unique premise and worldbuilding
-i got attached to the leads so quick!!! cried with em, laughed with em, felt for them, amazing world building not ONE boring episode

Characters & Acting:
i loved how this story wasn't just surrounding one character, every. single. character, even their parents!, had a chance to shine and display their good and bad sides.
the acting from everyone was phenomenal,
i've only seen bailu here and chen ruis mom before, both blew me away again, i didnt know i could see bai lu like this she proved she is so deserving of her fame shes talented af.
and ohu hao? man ate and left zero crumbs, HIS EYES SPARKLEE, he speaks with them!! how is that possible?!?
and everyone else? again, jaw-dropping performance.

weak(?) points: (not really)
i have NOTHING bad to say about this drama in terms of anything but if i HAD to well,
-the episodes got very depressing at a certain point, but still with it they kept the warm atmosphere and feel in every episode like its insane to me.


Final Thoughts:
Best if you are in the mood to really invest your time into some GOOD QUALITY drama.
really made me rethink and ponder on a lot of things, i could relate to the MCS, too want to help my family when they are having a hard time, but im just a kid. It gave me some hope for my future but also taught me nothing in life is going to be easy but as long as i know my worth ill make it out.
i would recommend this to everyone, dont overthink anything WATCH THIS RIGHT TF NOWWWWW
i am so going to rewatch this a million times now, its just the best ever!

adorable second chance romance with a girlboss FL and princess ML

truth to be told i went in expecting pure fluff and nothing else, i was surprised with the angst but i still ate it up tbh
this drama is so much more than a romance and i loved it

what i liked:
-the fl is easily one of the best written ever. My girls is smart, courageous, strong willed and knows what she wants. I know some may view her as obsessive or weird which is crazy to me bcz all i see is a girl who has a heart of gold and a lot of love to share. Her love for qiaoxi is one of the purest ever, we got girl competing with sang yan (TFF) in the yearning game.
truth is, although the way she cares for qiaoxi is very special obviously, we see she is like that to everyone she loves, for example when we see her with yeyun, the way she does everything in her zpower to win her friend back over, its beautiful, we really see her values there.
i believe there is nothing embarrassing over fighting for someone you truly love.

-the ml is really one of the good-er complex male leads. zlh is a great actor so he really brought him to life, it is to be understood that bro has been through serious trauma, imagine growing up in the shadow of someone who died.
his indecisiveness, cold frontier, all made sense.
His actions and feelings were valid, and his genuine effort to make up for them was nice.

-i liked that this drama wasn't ONLY a romance, in the start they focused on her friend group and the other members in the Qunshan squad, i found that adorable. in particular yeyun's character, her relationship with her dad was heartwarming and it made me cry.

-the cinematography was beautiful, really made every shot feel alive.

-another thing that i loved, yingtao's ''behavior'' wasn't glossed over in the drama,
everyone around showed concern over her with the qioaxi thing, some warned her, other discouraged her, almost the same as the negative reviews here, despite that her actions were true to the character that she is
the letters, the pining during the school years, it wasn't cringe at all imo. That was typical teenage girl behavior, the random bickering and helping her friend, thats what teenage girls are like and they portrayed that in yingtao perfectly.
If she wasn't the way she was, qiaoxi would've never gathered the strength to break free of his mothers hold, she really is his hero.

what i didnt like:
-the pacing was a little off at times,
a lot of things did not make sense to me and at the end i felt there were somethings missing. The main leads got good closure BUT the side characters that were significant to the plot at the start kinda jst disappeared at the end.
the pacing was either too slow or too fast at times, when it was too slow i got bored during the middle, and when it was too fast i felt nothing was being explained in the way that i hoped.
we didnt get to see more into the other squad members life/professions when at the start it felt like they would.

overall:
its a great nonetheless,
watch if you're in the mood for a angst second chance romance where the fl chases the ml.
if u can ignore the choppy pacing and enjoy the drama for what it is, it's for you.

not perfect but super enjoyable and adorableee

i had super low expectations but this actually turned out to be much better than i wished it would be.

i know the actress as a comedian but she NAILED this role, her acting? so expressive, so real, she made this movie so enjoyable to watch.
this goes without saying, but i LOVED and ADORED their height difference. Them in general too like they're wayy too cute, so different yet also jst perfect for eachother, their chemistry was amazing too, wished there was more of it.
the cinematography is nothing extraordinary but was surprisingly wonderful, no whitening beauty filter, awkward shots or anything, quite the opposite of it actually.
i loved the scene where she is playing basketball with her younger and teen version, so beautiful.
the fashion show she put up for him and her speech about the dress he made and how she was also subconsciously describing their dynamic? cherry on top.
and the comedy? i was not expecting it to be so funny, but given the fl and her comedy partner, they served.

i jst wished we had more of the ml, we saw how fl struggled with her height, her tomboyishness how she learned to accept it and move on bcz of mls help, we could've seen more of the ml too bcz ik its prolly not easy being a ''not short, just not that tall'' guy whos a fashion designer, loved him regardless though hes so baby girl.
its a 10/10 in my book, but gotta give it a 9 simply bcz its too short and i wanted more, i see myself rewatching it

classic romcom, funny as hell, amazing first half, rather okay-ish second half.

this took me back to when i used to binge shoujo animes, that's how good of a MANGA adaptation this is, really offers that anime humour and cozy japan vibes while keeping the charm cdramas have.

i knew what i was getting myself into and i don't regret it, its everything you'd expect of a romcom, though frankly speaking its more comedy than romance i still love it though.
what i enjoyed:
-The comedy is just great, i was laughing every other episode, and its not very often that a drama makes me laugh out loud, this got it tho!
-the romance is the CUTEST, i didn't have many expectations but their chemistry? oh man their adorable even though it took them many episode to even consider the fact the other liked them, 30 episodes to hold hand and the confession at the last episode, i adored it.
-the cast was adorable. I knew most of the cast except for the ye qi's and chen ziyu's actor, everyone was great but the ml actor in particular? i am in love with this man now, he pulled off the cold aloof ml who misreads all of the fl's actions PERFECTLY i found him endearing hes a great actor, his expressions are amazing!! he made the drama more enjoyable for me!
-the OSTs are bops takes me back to the lit anime openings, the instrumentals are so jpop coded.

what i didn't like:
-33 eps is a bit too much, the last half got a bit draggy as i was like screaming ''JUST KISS ALREADY'' at my screen.
-the other two couples were fine, but got annoying a few times, i did not care for the third one, the second one were okay they def all had their sweet and funny moments but i was too invested in the main couple to really care.

overall:
great if u want a change of pace and get a good laugh with out of the box humour.
solid 8.5/10, would recommend! its definitely worth rewatching as well

sick & twisted politics and a beautiful story

this definitely exceeded my expectations, this story turned out to be a lot rich and enjoyable then i hoped

-Li rong is a diva. Shes a very complex female character, her actions may annoy you or not make sense at first, but as the story goes on, her character learns and evolves. Being a women in politics, a princess no less, she is incredibly determined, strong and persuasive.
She grew up being taught politics and power was to be prioritized over love, we've been seeing that mindset in the starting episodes, plus being a woman alone in a male dominated field is already hard as it is.
despite it she sees through the lies and games before her, she learns to love pei wenxuan and truly understand his love and his worth.

-Pei wenxuan is such a nice male lead. Cocky, sassy and easy going but surprisingly cunning and clever under the cover. His character also had a lot of layers to him, which made the show so engaging and lively. I just loved him! unlike the 2ml with his capabilities and morals, he was able to not only have Li rong but also fight for his family.
i would say his amazing character was inconsistent at times esp towards the end but all in all hes a treat

-both of them together are the cutest bickering married couple. pei wenxuan's care and love for li rong is seen so clearly, he isnt threatened by her position or dominance, he embraces it, helped her grow, not only in power but as a person too.
and li rong didnt hide her love either, both were given a second chance and used it well, using her power to help him and protect him, it was adorable to see.

-the politics in this one is great!!
they really really show exactly the twisted and dirty politics of the imperial court, every character is evil in a way they would kill others to save their own skin, even our main leads, yet their behaviors and actions are explained, and karma gets them.
if you snooze u might miss some important plot points, so its important to pay attention. The politics grabbed and lost me turn by turn, but it was enjoyable nontheless.

HOWEVER,,
-yes the 2ml is annoying ASF. his character jst felt unnecessary he was a weak villain, consort rou was a better antagonist than him. them constantly pushing 2ml and fl together was annoying as well but if you skip his scenes it'll be alr which is what i did ^^
in conclusion, its a wonderful story that balances romance and politics and is def worth a watch!!
9/10, i can see myself rewatching for peirong bcz they're jst adorable

THE perfect mix of thriller,supernatural and romance! +gripping plot and great acting!

truth be told i started it for haocun and weilong, stayed for them and everything else. <3

What I Loved:

* Chemistry between leads: haocun and weilong were the perfect fit for this! of course the romance isnt the main focus but it is there and is incredible! hongsha and yi wansan are perfect too! these four had me swooning all over!! i jst wished lou ren and mu dai could've had more of their enemies thing before falling into eachother but im still happy with their dynamic now!

* Emotional moments: everyone is an expectational actor, everyone's backstory was so well shown, i felt for each of the members in the phoenix squad, yi wansan and mu dai in particular.

* Suspense or twist: every episode ends on a cliffhanger and leaves you wanting more! the flow of one arc to the next is smooth and easy to follow, you dont need to have ur brain on overtime! everything comes natural and in such a fun way!

Characters & Acting:

haocun's acting (particularly in that one scene in ep 15 omg) is always my favorite, these characters which are so demanding are her forte! i did not know weilong could be such a natural in an action drama but i love it!! and man ao aui peng was the real show stealer for me, his character was my favorit, the best handsome loser comedic relief ever! and his acting is making me wanna check out more of his works! hongsha actress was spectacular too and chubby was amazing too, his and yi wansans funny moments were a cherry on top of this dark drama!

Direction & Production:

people said the CGI and editing was bad and sloopy, i disagree i think it was nice! or as nice as they could've done, the cgi wasn't that noticeable, like in some scenes sure but it did not ruin my experience at all personally so i am satisfied!
-all the outfits (esp MD and YWS's) were chef's kiss
-THE OSTS SLAPPP, the one they play during mu dai and lou rens cute scenes? it has my heart, such a catchy song

Weak Points:

unfortunately the censorship took away episodes worth of content :( i wanted to see more of lou rens backstory, more gruesome relic killings and obviously, more episodes, but im content with what i got!
-but OH, the second last ''villainous'', she took the fun out of LR's arc so much, her acting was quite terrible and cringe, in contrast with the other antagonists in the drama that had minor roles but were absolutely mind blowing. the leopards the only thing i hate abt this show

Final Thoughts:
this drama was such a fun ride! a 9.5/10 from me! would 100000% recommend
If you love thriller mystery dramas with a touch of romance , this one's for you. I’ll be thinking about these characters for a long time!

omfg this exceeded all of my expectations and is one of the most beautifully done cdramas i have seen in 2025 so far.

-wen yifan? my love,my shayla oh my GODDD MY SHAYLAAAA. I love the way this story voices SA victims wen yifan is not alone and neither are the other innocent souls, seeing her grow stronger and braver and crack out of a dark place was inspiring and honestly beautiful to see.
she is ALSO breathtakingly GORGEOUSSS like sang yan my bro, i get it, i really do.
-the OST, I, much like everyone else is jamming to it as we speak i ADOREEE IT.
-sang yan? a man who yearns is a man who earns and sang yan proved that periodt. His love language is acts of service and it can be seen so clearly all throughout the drama i loved it.

one thing to add tho, i know most people's problems with this is that it seemed ''unrealistic'', such as sang yan being so deeply in love with her and yifan SEEMINGLY not ''reciprocating'' the same amount of feelings back.
but i call CAPP, they love each other in their own unique ways, while sang yans love can be seen through his actions, his yearning and his care. i personally think yifan expresses her love with her words, saying she wants to live 6 years more then him and the reason behind it omg girl i love you.
she loved him enough to leave her happiness for his safety and he loved her enough to look and wait for her for YEARS. Thats true love imo. they're perfect for eachother.

i may have had my own doubts when i was in the middle of the whole drama, but the last few episodes blew me away, the story was extremely enjoyable throughout and actually very heavy in contrast to hidden love.

9/10 would 1000000% recommend.

a rollercoaster ride from start to finish

this was such a thrilling watch, i did not expect to be so grabbed by the amazing storyline and acting,
thought in all honesty, its not a perfect drama because it has many plot holes, the ride was a fun one.

yun rui is an amazing actress, the way she played zhenzhen? she lived her character. I cried for her, her pain and anguish, in the drama the ml describes her as a dim star, and that's exactly how she is. A sunshine character in the beginning but her mental breakdown? so realistic, i felt her pain and sadness throughout the drama

the male lead actor is fine, his acting wasn't extraordinary to me, i felt he was a little stiff in the beginning but when we got his pov in ep 15, his acting actually complemented the kind of character the ml is so that was nice.

the plot is great, i dont like what they did with it at the end but given the ban in china and how complex it already is, i think they did their best. I still wanted something else or ATLEAST give us more episodes where the leads in the present interact, which is why i need a second season.

there were some plot holes, but all in all i love the essence of the story, its message, the characters, everything was incredibly enjoyable.
overall, its a worth it drama,9/10.
would def rewatchhh

the perfect way to perfect a revenge story; amazing acting and an even better execution.

i read the manhwa when it first came out, i didn't know it would blow up enough to get a kdrama adaptation and now we have jdrama one, i didnt see the kr ver but this one? takes the cake

let me start off with everything i loved about it, this will be a lil comparison to the webtoon.

-the FL, they did an amazing job picking her out, fuka koshiba DELIVEREDDD, i loved how the first few episodes were her getting herself back, enjoying what she couldn't in her first life, before getting her revenge

-the ML, they gave him an actual personality in this remake, in the webtoon his character was flat, he only showed up when the fl needed his help and jst to be an eye candy, here? thanks to takeru Satao, not only was his character a treat to see but also genuinely enjoyable,he had his passions, hobbies and a sense of humour, i loved it.

-reina, the actress played her perfectly HELLO?!, she didn't annoy me one bit bcz she played her character so well, not as a green tea bitch but as genuinely mentally troubled character, they gave actual REASONS (not justification) for her behaviors,the last scene of her and misa in the last episode was beautiful as well

-tomoya, again, they didn't make him one dimensional, his character was more than an annoying ex.

-the revenge was carried out perfectly, not overbearing or too in your face, it was simple and felt natural and oh so satisfying.

-the ending, i was getting skeptical when it wasn't going the way it ended in the webtoon, only to realize they made it 100 times better.

what i didn't like:
-i already knew the story so the show except for the last 2 episodes were lackluster for me, except for misas ''makeover'' parts bcz fuka koshiba ATEEEE

solid 9/10, its way better if you want a genuinely good revenge story, this drama is like poetry to me, way better than any makjang childish revenge story, WATCH ITTTT
