I 100% agree with this, but there is a limit to acceptance, when someone's main criticism is that other "better"…
Instead of responding to negativity, it's better to focus on what you enjoy. People will have their opinions, but engaging with hate usually doesn’t change anything. It’s better celebrate what you love and move on.
You perfectly summed up what I feel about this drama! I share the same sentiments with you, Seokryu is the most…
Thank you so much I'm glad we're on the same page about Seokryu. I completely agree that her love is shown more through her actions than words, and that makes her such a deep and relatable character. It’s easy to miss those quieter gestures, but they really do carry a lot of meaning. I’ve always felt that her love for Seunghyo was there all along too, and it’s nice to see someone else notice those subtle yet heartfelt moments. It’s definitely not one-sided when you look at it from that perspective.
Lovely comment! I find Seok Ryu really relatable as well, I didn't figure out what I wanted to do with my life…
Thank you for sharing your story it's really inspiring to hear how you found your way later in life. It’s a great reminder that everyone’s path is unique, and that it's never too late to figure things out. That really resonates with Seokryu's journey, too.
As for her POV, I completely agree. I think Seokryu's been very clear through her actions and the way she handles situations, even if she’s not always verbalizing everything. For me, that subtlety is part of what makes her character interesting.
Hi, if you see this, I just want to say that you should always stand by what you write. I understand everyone has their own opinions, but you definitely don’t deserve to be attacked on this site. After reading your review, I can tell it comes from a balanced perspective, with both what you liked and your fair critiques. I honestly can't believe you’re still being attacked because of this, I’ve decided to watch a different drama instead of this one, though I’m unsure if it’ll be worth my time.
I feel disappointed by some of the comments here, as it seems that a few fans are unwilling to accept differing opinions. I checked other drama pages, and I've seen people call the drama overrated or explain why they couldn't get into it.
It’s frustrating when fans bring up personal sob stories, but we need to accept that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. While some may be trolls on MDL, critics and honest reviewers shouldn’t be attacked for sharing their thoughts. The top reviewer, for instance, should be respected even if you don’t agree with their perspective.
I also love Moeum’s character, her personality, and friendship with both Seokryu and Seung Hyo. She’s easily one of my favorites here
As for the mothers, their relationship as best friends with clashing ego shows that their friendship is more complex than simple rivalry, and I’m sure by the end, they’ll be hugging and crying after all this fighting. I like the Lavender Group women, each with a different lifestyle, but they still manage to get along. It really captures that close-knit, everyday feeling.
Lastly, I have to mention the OST. It’s been great overall, though there was one scene where I felt the background music was a bit off. But aside from that, I’ve really enjoyed how the soundtrack adds to the emotional tone of the drama.
Relationships are fragile treasures. They can falter for various reasons, and often, misunderstandings can drive a wedge between people. That's why Seokryu's relationship feels different she's experienced those past fears, and it clearly influences how she approaches this new connection. Apologies if this comment is a bit long; I feel like I have way too much to say.
Bae Seokryu has been a realistic and relatable character for me, and I’m glad to see her pursuing her dreams rather than focusing solely on love. She has her own way of loving Seung Hyo, and even before they started dating, they showed her perspective of being there for him. Now that they’re together, we see him being there for her.
I watched an interview where the leads mentioned this wasn’t just a romance drama, and I’m grateful for that because there are valuable lessons woven into the story so far. The tension between Seokryu and her brother, Dong Jin, is especially compelling. Seokryu always felt like Dong Jin was the favorite, which drove her to work hard and be independent so she wouldn’t burden her parents. Meanwhile, Dong Jin felt inferior because their parents placed all their expectations on Seokryu, leaving him feeling overlooked. His attempts to impress them, even when they failed, were driven by his need for validation. I found this sibling dynamic relatable, as it highlights how easily misunderstandings can shape relationships.
The characters’ flaws make them feel authentic, and I appreciate that the writer gave each one, even the parents, their own storyline. I’ve enjoyed seeing the different portrayals of marriage from both parents and how they add to the overall depth of the drama. While the writing isn’t perfect and I know many people were hoping for a simple rom-com I’ve really appreciated what we’ve gotten. The decision to delay the romance between Seokryu and Seung Hyo made sense because it gave proper closure to the exes’ stories, and for once, we didn’t get exes who were villains or overly problematic people.
Seokryu’s way of loving Seung Hyo might seem less expressive, but I believe the drama has done a good job showing how both characters are there for each other in their own ways. The chemistry between the leads has been natural. I’m actually glad they didn’t fully execute their playful banter.
