Our Blooming Youth - May not scratch everyone’s itch but it did what it needed to do for me.
I’ve been watching K dramas since January of this year and have watched a total of 51 Dramas (Including this one) (I know it’s bad). I finally hit the K-Drama slump. Since the release of Episode 13 of Good Boy, I haven’t watched a single K-Drama.
So you’d think a slow-paced 20-episode historical drama would be the last thing to bring me back, but this was brilliant and I honestly wasn’t bored once, and that’s coming from someone who loves 8-12 episode dramas.
It might be because PHS is my favorite Korean actor, but I was engaged with the story too. My only complaint with the drama is that I wish the romance became more of a focus toward the end; however, we got a romantic ending so they didn’t leave us in the dark like some shows do. I also feel that the final fight was rushed. The fight should’ve been longer.
I understand that a lot of people won’t like or maybe even hate this drama. It has all the makings for me not to like it. This just does it for me. The posters advertised it as being a little more romantic, and while it has fewer romantic moments than I thought it would, they pack more of a punch, imo.
Also, PHS and JSN have brilliant chemistry. Out of all the People PHS has worked with. This is the pairing I most want to see do another drama together again.
Enough of my ramblings, loved this.
