This is an odd one
A couple of days ago, I watched the film “Call Me Chihiro” and really liked the actress who played the main character. So I searched for more of her work. I saw that this show was already on my Netflix watchlist and decided to watch it.From the jump, I thought the kid was 18-19. Given the show's context, the age gap is risky but not illegal. I didn’t find out the kid was 15 until episodes 2-3. This really irked me. I know the actor playing the character was of age. It’s still fucking weird. If she had a crush, she was ashamed of it, she left, and they met years later. That, whilst still weird, would’ve been more acceptable. I thought that was how it was going to go until that beach scene. I just felt weird watching this whole drama. Everything about the show is great aside from the story, which could’ve been altered.
This show is also so inconsistent, genuinely all over the place. Characters say stuff and declare some change, and then in the next episode, they’ve changed their mind. It also feels like key scenes were cut. Characters talk about things, and it seems like the context of what they’re talking about is in a scene that didn’t make it into the show. Hell, there’s no scene where the woman’s fiancé finds out she’s interested in this school student. It just happens off-screen.
Could’ve been great. But the show’s age gap is just unforgivable, which is a shame because everything else about the show (not story-related) I really enjoyed.

Our Blooming Youth - May not scratch everyone’s itch but it did what it needed to do for me.
I’ve been watching K dramas since January of this year and have watched a total of 51 Dramas (Including this one) (I know it’s bad). I finally hit the K-Drama slump. Since the release of Episode 13 of Good Boy, I haven’t watched a single K-Drama.So you’d think a slow-paced 20-episode historical drama would be the last thing to bring me back, but this was brilliant and I honestly wasn’t bored once, and that’s coming from someone who loves 8-12 episode dramas.
It might be because PHS is my favorite Korean actor, but I was engaged with the story too. My only complaint with the drama is that I wish the romance became more of a focus toward the end; however, we got a romantic ending so they didn’t leave us in the dark like some shows do. I also feel that the final fight was rushed. The fight should’ve been longer.
I understand that a lot of people won’t like or maybe even hate this drama. It has all the makings for me not to like it. This just does it for me. The posters advertised it as being a little more romantic, and while it has fewer romantic moments than I thought it would, they pack more of a punch, imo.
Also, PHS and JSN have brilliant chemistry. Out of all the People PHS has worked with. This is the pairing I most want to see do another drama together again.
Enough of my ramblings, loved this.

Our Unwritten Seoul
grounded, real, and heavy. Our unwritten Seoul is easily the Best Drama this year alongside When Life Gives you Tangerines.A show that knows what it is and doesn’t try to force some sort of side plot that has no effect on the story being told. It says what it wants to say perfectly. The cast is brilliant. PBY is always a standout in anything she chooses to be in. Jinyoung was also good. Though I preferred the other ML played by Ryu Kyung-soo. Unpopular opinion but I just liked his character more and wished we had more time with him.
There’s an unexpected comfort in this drama that you wouldn’t expect reading the plot. It’s themes are heavy but it’s so true to life that you just can’t help to keep watching. That being said, I can only watch these types of dramas when I’m in the right mood. preparation needs to be made because I know that this isn’t just another light rom-com that follows the same structure, has the same themes, and most of the time the same ending. There’s hope and an open ending because the story isn’t over. Life doesn’t end when you get where you want. Moreso it begins because you start living for yourself and the people&things you care about.
100% recommend.
