I just want to say that this drama is not worth wasting time. the actors are wrongly picked and dont even match…
Mimi aren't you guilty of the same sin? asserting that someones opinion about a drama, that he made after watching 2 episodes, is unreliable, while you didn't see any episode yet?
Unbelievable! this drama set a new record for me, I couldn't get past half an our, exactly the scene about money, supposed to be "funny", they went so far as to add fake laughter! not sticking to the manhwa is one thing, but then the choice of actors like Shin Se Kyung who is incapable of making an innocent smile, she maybe not bad at acting, but frankly, she is only suited for playing miserable or hateful characters, anything but comedy. And there is the choppy script too...
So Seo Hyun in this is an ersatz for Park Ming Young in City Hunter...
And why make it 50 episodes of 1hr 15 min each if you are going to fill it with flashbacks?
20 episodes is enough for me, I tried hard, but can't stop yawning while watching this, the few times it…
A grudge? I didn't know that she even existed before this drama...
Maybe it's the opposite, some people project their own personalities onto the female lead character so much that they feel threatened of their dream shattering with the slightest criticism towards her.
So far, so good!
Jo Seung Woo is an amazing actor, he completely immersed himself in the role unlike other actors like Jang Hyuk who can't free themselves from their recognizable mannerisms playing a similar role.
And for those who recommend Dr. frost as a similar drama, please stop! your a defaming Stranger!
20 episodes is enough for me, I tried hard, but can't stop yawning while watching this, the few times it was unpredictable, the plot turned to be ridiculous. Above all I don't find the female lead likable, I can't quite put my finger on it, is her character incongruous in some way? or her acting can't convey it adequately? either way I'm dropping this
I have seen Two Weeks and I Hear Your Voice, and those shows were amazing to me imo, how good is Defendant compare…
Can't hold a candle to Two Weeks! even I Hear Your Voice is better in my opinion, since the story is more consistent notwithstanding the protagonist's psychic powers, besides you don't have to endure watching Ji Sub crying, something he isn't good at and does a lot in the first episodes, looking like a constipated guy taking a painful dump.
Wouldn't be suitable to add comedy genre to this show's description? specially episode 13...
I was talking about scenes like the one when an escaped inmate reports his buddy and himself by phone, they believe him! announce it on TV without checking with the authorities yet somehow they are able to use pictures of them in their prison uniforms! no agency caries an inspection of the concerned penitentiary! and nobody updates the newscast on the fact that there is one more fugitive!
This reminds me once again how Japanese screenwriters lack the ability to balance drama and humor, if we could…
I disagree, knowing Japanese wouldn't change a thing, because you see, when you modify the words at your leisure it's no longer a pun, unlike your examples from Love Shuffle, "itadakimanguusu" and "itadakimandoriru" are not correct phrases that suggests a second meaning besides the intended, they are just unrelated words fused with no meaning, that not witty at all, even kids are more creative when inventing funny sounding words.

usagi I didn't mean that it should be dark, but a bit balanced.
As you say there are plenty other legal dramas that I didn't watch, but I chose this one because according to the synopsis it tackles a particular social dilemma.
Would you recommend me a balanced jdrama you think of? now that could stop me from making more sweeping generalizations.

Well, I think "Itadakimasu" means something similar to "Bon appétit" which I believe is the cultural context here, Selty, can you explain to me what are other cultural elements I'm missing so I can get the pun in "itadakimanguusu" and "itadakimandoriru"?
As manga Ajin is a brilliant work.
As anime it got the unfortunate luck of being picked by the worst studios: Polygon Pictures.
As a life-action movie: Please stop butchering works of art!
