Considering how saturated the 'previous life' trope is in kdrama right now, this drama is like a breath of fresh air.
I don't vilify either the ML or FL. Truth was, they were incompatible when they were younger. He was always positive, she was always negative. She was a loner when it came to handling issues, he wasn't. They were both busy working on their own dreams that they both didn't go that extra mile for their partner. They were both young and immature. The ML didn't help reduce the FL's workload by helping out around the house. The FL didn't support the ML's dream, as crazy as it was at the time.
They could have met in the happy middle, but they didn't, because they were young and immature.
Now that we see them older, I think it makes sense that the realist and the dreamer give it another shot. The only problem is that the ML is confident in life and knows who he is, but the FL is still floundering.
Popping in to ask... Has Hyo Shim started putting up boundaries against her family yet? I'm surprisingly invested in the story, but too annoyed at the family to continue watching.
The actors tried. They gave it their all. But this... This drama just wasn't good. As of today, for me, this is the worst written, messiest writing I've come across in a drama in 2023, and somehow, it was boring too.
Unpopular opinion: The ending is true to the real world where no real change can happen. Corruption continues. Those who are responsible for crimes will always get away. And the people who will continue to suffer is the innocent. It's a never ending cycle and I understand why people hate it. No one wants to see that in fiction when we live that life everyday.
This drama is perfect in my eyes. One of the few 10/10 I've given this year. It had the perfect mix of slice of life, drama, sadness, heart and love. For me, it could not have been improved in any way.
It's funny to me that his fans insist he keeps doing more action dramas, when he has been very clear about how…
I think his situation is similar to Lee Joon Gi. LJG has wanted to do romance/rom-com dramas for ages, but those scripts don't go his way because of how well he portrays serious roles. Ji Chang Wook has tried rom-coms and they haven't succeeded, except for Suspicious Partner. He has the face for it, but his best performances have been for complex characters. Suspicious Partner fell into that wheel house just like The Sound of Magic, If You Wish Upon Me and Empress Ki.
I think his romance based dramas will do well, if there is a dark element to it. Like Flower of Evil etc. He just doesn't do well in intentional comedy, like Backstreet Rookie and Melting Me Softly.
About the kidnapping thing, can't they just say that while Myung Joon was driving, a girl (Rohee) ran towards…
Lawfully, it's still considered kidnapping because she's a minor and he didn't surrender her to law enforcement or family. It would be different if he was her family member.

Found family will forever be my favourite trope that I will never get sick of, and this drama did that trope justice.
There's never anything new, but it's perfect for people who like this genre.
Dear writer, please don't disappoint me.
I'm glad I waited. This show was solid.
I am here for that healing drama energy. I can't wait to watch Seo Mok Ha live her dream.

Dear TVN, please renew this with a higher budget!
