To be fair half of the drama took place in the 90s lol so it fits!
Whenever someone was in danger they had that horrible piano music playing irrespective of the timeline. I felt like the music fit daytime soaps more than this drama.
I liked it. Acting was great. Production was great. The directing was a little 90s kdrama romcom, and the music was definitely from the Boys Over Flowers era, but the actors carried this.
It was sad, but I felt nothing. - I think this has something to do with the music, which I thought was off putting and didn't blend well with the overall vibe of the drama.
Looking forward to watching the Taiwanese version, since a lot of people said it has more soul.
Hats off to Nam Si Heon for being one of the best (if not the best) green flag boyfriend I've ever seen in kdrama.
I saw a clip of a man and women on a sofa and it looked like she was trying to seduce him but then he grabbed…
He beat her with the tumbler until she was bloody and then threw his watch as payment. There's no romantic relationship in this drama for there to be cheating. There is sexual assault in this drama though.
Just an opinion (please don't hate) 🙏🏼While I loved Jeon Yeo Been in Vincenzo, and here in this drama as…
I think I know what you mean. I love JYB. She was amazing in Be Melodramatic. To me, she suits mature characters with subtle nuances and to play a high school student, there has to be a level of childlike innocence depicted. As good an actor she is, you could see the maturity behind her eyes. I feel while Jeon Yeo Been played the older version better, Ahn Hyo Seop played the younger version better.
Rowoon really be winning me over with his versatility. From dramas like Tomorrow to the small but amazing role in A Time Called You, to this... The energy he brings to every role is different. He always has chemistry with his co-stars and that's honestly amazing.
taxi driver 2 was not this good but it was okay and enjoyable. Uncanny counter 2 was bad.
I hated Taxi Driver Season 2. Uncanny Counter was better, quality wise. The editing was horrible. The plot lines were all over the place. Most didn't make sense. The bad directing was on another level, rarely seen in kdrama where you had visuals not matching (Eg:- the CCTV footage) or the characters teleporting. People forgave a lot because they like the characters.
I used to recommend Taxi Driver to people, but now I tell them to stop at Season 1. The quality drop is immense, for me.
After all those flashback episodes I wanted to ask yall - do you really consider Dooshik as the main character?…
I would say this is one of those instances where storytelling takes precedence over everything else. Like shows like Modern Family or movies like The Lord of the Rings, this is an ensemble cast where there is no main actor and no character is more important than another. If anything, everyone holds equal importance.
This goes against the usual Kdrama method of one or two characters as main and the rest are supporting.
The Taiwanese version almost lost me at episode 1, It was badly over acted by those playing characters in the…
I get it. By principle, I don't watch remakes unless I haven't watched the original (like here) or reviewers have said it's an improvement on the original. I can't help but compare it. I've tried remakes of shows I've enjoyed and end up dropping them because the essence is very rarely the same.
Thanks for the tip regarding the Taiwanese version. I'm planning on watching it after this, so it's good to know that I need to give it a few episodes to enjoy it.
Not gonna to lie... Even though I haven't watched the Taiwanese version, this drama felt like a dud during the first four episodes and I contemplated dropping it.
Episode 5 turned it around for me. I'm now invested.
There's just way to many big actors in it. I like it because they lend a weight to those characters but it feels…
It's actually a good thing that there are so many big actors in this. Even if it is a small role, when all the actors are of the same caliber, it raises the quality of the drama. Otherwise, it would be similar to that of most other kdramas where you have good actors for the mains, decent actors for the secondary and people casted mostly for their looks for the rest. (I will never get over Sisyphus: The Myth where all the agents were played by models lol)
Think about movies like Oppenheimer. All the actors were well known, great actors, even if they showed up for one sentence. It made the movie a heavy weight in acting ability. Same can be said for Moving.
the main cast has three of my favorite actors and it seems it has a lot of positive comments, but somehow the…
The trailer is awful tbh. I think it might have been released before they finished post-production. I watched the trailer after watching the first four episodes because I was trying to sell the show to a friend and the vibe is completely different.
This is one of those times I tell people to start the show without watching the trailer because the trailer is made by someone who didn't know what the show was really about.
This has to be one of the most wholesome parent-child love stories I've ever watched (save for Reply 1988). So many kdramas show abusive or toxic parents so it's a breath of fresh air to see good parents doing their best.
The production, the cinematography and the acting is amazing.
I can't believe I've been sleeping on this.

It just didn't suit the drama, in my opinion.
Colour me impressed.

Great Season 2!!!
