Given up on this one. Waiting months between episodes for subbing will only ruin the drama for me. I'll pick it up again if it ever gets an official subber. Shame, this one really had good potential. I wish Japan invested more in international viewers.

They aren't allowed to make dramas based on BL novels. When they do and it goes through censorship (probably because someone payed a bribe...) it's immediately taken off air when someone snitches.
I don't get what Takasugi Mahiro is doing here, it's a waste of his charisma. The ML in this drama is just there as a decoration, he has no purpose. They should have taken a mediocre actor and freed him to do something that requires real talent.
Is it misogynistic? Her ex is, that's the point. But the ML shows her there is another option.
I agree with a lot of what you wrote, and let's face it, all these dramas are like that, so no surprises there. But in this drama world, I think it has as much to do with social standing and wealth as it has to do with with gender. That's why the rich SFL is a twisted mirror image of our FL. Still very cliche, but it's beer like this since Blanche Ingram and Jane Eyre.

My guess is that they were shipped in China too, so they had to give one of them a beard if they wanted season two to pass censorship.
