Read through it again and imagine what you would think if you were the average MDL person looking for a good drama: you don't necessarily know anything about gyaru, and the word isn't even mentioned,
The synopsis should explain things like you did, but it doesn't, all it does is make her seem like a shallow teenager and she isn't that at all.

It was a good decision for them to go for a modern one this time to avoid any comparison with Tora. Now we only have to hope that this isn't as shallow as it seems, they make her sound like a party girl.
