Unwavering Motivation & Perseverance + The Ultimate Cheat Code to Power.

Where to start? Hmm, honestly... This drama made me contemplate so much. It is very enjoyable during the 1st half of it (even when a lot of things are questionable) then during the episode 30+ the drama started to get a little all over the place for me; and even the remaining episodes made me feel like they're just doing things just to satisfy the viewers without any proper presentation and scaling of how things happened. It was more of "Surpirise! This character suddenly got super powerful now" yet still having so much hard time dealing with less powerful enemies. Lol~

Let me just enumerate the things I like and Dislike about this drama to sum it all up and let me start with...

×× Likes
→ The characters and the actors. Almost all of them satisfies me and really impresses me a lot specially Xiao Yan, Yao Chen and Ice King. They're like the backbone of this dramas enterntainment for me. Special mention to Poison Fairy and Xun Er.

→ Costume's looking good. I love that they didn't go extreme with the design and color pallete. It was more of the neutral and primary colors and that really helps me watch the drama with ease and comfort.

→ The quirky and comical vibe of the drama enriches the entire show for me. It was made more enjoyable and interesting to watch.

→ The Fighting Scenes execution were all interesting as well and always made me go wild specially when Xiao Yan's doing his flying and flame shits. Amost most of it were well-done aside from some little glitches visible at times.

××Dislikes

→ The plot build up and story flow just doesn't make sense 30% of the time. It made me question what the hell is going on with this drama and even bored me during the 2nd half of it.

→ The non-sensical power scaling of the characters. Like HELL! I was so confused whether the ML is already more powerful than his enemies or not. He's clearly overpowering the most feared main villain but is getting badly nerf by its underlings. Also, some of the fights that should've been handled pretty easily can take so much manpower and effort even when they can clearly finish it in 1 powerful blow. Like common!!

→ Another thing is the way they dragged the story by focusing on some irrelevant stuff instead of making improvements and producing more ideas for the most important fights and scenes.

Nonetheless this drama helped me go through my boredom and truly served some greatness as well. I would still recommend it and will probably watch the S2 (even with different Cast) once it comes out.

Story - 9.0, It's still good despite all the flaws I've listed above. Although it has some questionable moments I can still say that It never disappoint me to the point of dropping it. I just felt like they could've focuses more on improving its plot, twist and building the story itself.

Acting/Cast - 10, Acting of both the Main Leads and Side characters were all extremely good to the point where I even ask myself how can they do that? How can they alter from one expression and emotion into another and how do they manage to let it all out without feeling awkward. The actors/actresses in this drama are really phenomenal. An amazing set of artists.

Music - 9.0, I started to enjoy the Music when I recognized Xiao Zhan's Voice. Hahaha~ Honestly, this drama has a Minimal use of BGMs and most of them are like trailer instrumentals which is decent. It's good overall and never bothered me.

Rewatch Value - 9.0, Something I would watch again IF I wanna watch Wu Lei and his cutie Teenager acting. Aside from that this drama's really enjoyable to watch and wouldn't bore anyone if you don't go too in-depth with the story progression.

Overall - 9.5, I feel like this is the most appropriate score for this drama. It was a fantastic production with a great set of actors and actresses and will surely entertain anyone one way or another..

Absurd & Outrageous Comedic Scenes Paired with Ridiculous yet Cringe-Worthy Story line~!!

GAYNESS OVERLOAD!!

I don't know. I just cannot. I'm still in a great daze right now trying to digest everything while attempting to write this review 1minute after I finish the drama.

2 words to precisely describe this drama is 'Ridiculously Insane'. Honestly, It has so much ups and downs and I have mixed feelings about it. At one point I feel so stressed, frustrated and irritated watching this drama then minutes after I'll find myself dying out of mere comedy and insanity.

This drama served so much unexpected laughter and out of context scenarios but somehow was able to both damage and strengthen my opinion over it as a whole. This is CRAZY I must say. It's on a tier of its own, unrivaled.

1st, let's talk about how they overly sexualized women at the first half of the drama. Even when it's done by the FL, those scenes still felt wrong yet it was saved by it's comedic touches.

2nd, the Modern-Ancient scenes of this drama is so cringy I almost puke watching them but then was saved by the witty, hilarious and strong approach of the FL.

3rd, the clothing! Ghad! It fslt so wrong yet I'm satisfied by it. This drama has the most indecent, revealing yet stylish costume of all Period dramas I've ever watched. Kudos for that.

4th, considering the fact that It's a low budget drama; It was able to deliver so well in various areas specially on the acting, Visuals, Cinematopraphy and lastly Costume. The only let down is its all over the place scenes, writing anf story itself.

Nonetheless, It was FINE!? IF you're looking for a drama with Outrageous and Ridiculous Scenes and Story then this is for you.

Story - 8, I would love to give it a higher mark but the ending could've been more interesting and light. It is an open ended story that's unsure of its sequel. Story itself felt so dramatic and heavy at a scene then will immediately shift to crazy and ridiculous comedic scenes. I felt retarded and insane following the mood of this production like 100% of the time.

Acting/Cast - 10, The Actors/Actresses of this drama is on a different level of excellent character portrayal. Each of their scenes were performed spectacularly and with so much concentration and passion. I can see the hardships they went through to deliver and to fulfill the expectation for their respective characters.

Music - 9, I almost failed to appreciate the songs because I was so distracted by the entire mess this production is serving but they redeemed themselves and was able to flex their Music out at the last 10 episodes of the drama.

Rewatch Value - 7, This drama is Perfect ONLY at first watch. Rewatching might actually irritate anyone since most of the time the sequences are so out of the topic and unrelateable. Absurd.

Overall - 8.5, Okay! I kinda gave an extra points cause I love and enjoy it as a whole. It may have its ups and downs but It was able to serve its purpose which is to entertain and to make its audiences laugh. Like I mentioned on my Bio. I'm a reasonable guy; As long as I enjoyed it, I will certainly give it proper acknowledgement and appreciation.

TOP LEVEL Foodology and a combination of Greatness, Women Empowerment and Witty-Harmony in 1 show.

Oh God! I'm super in love with this show; so please!! do bear with me cause I'm about to list down all of them as much as possible. Hehe~

1st, Lemme start how smooth, serene and harmonious this production is compared to all the dramas out there. It do provide the right amount of issues, tricks and problems but is always getting resolved within the same episode and even in a justifiable witty way. No excessive conspiracy that harm the Protagonists and even serves righteousness by dealing with them properly.

2nd, Women Empowerment. Like damn!! Dramas these days just don't provide proper exposure to how capable and flexibe women is and this drama showcased that in every way and form possible. The amount of justice and appreciation Women has received from this show is even greater than the last 20 dramas I watched combined and that speaks Volume and intelligence.

3rd, Superior Foodology. I never watched an episode without my mouth gaping open because of the exquisite and delicious cuisines they featured in this drama. As someone who has some knowledge and is interested in cooking it truly caught my interest and made me so curious to try those I think I can cook by myself. I know I won't achieve the surreal and almost perfect dishes on the show but I just want to try it nonetheless. Hahaha~

4th, Characters & Cast. How can all of them be this lovely and interesting on their own unique ways? This production surely gathered the best talents there is and put it under this Mellow yet fantastic drama that created such excellent balance and was able to cater to my palate perfectly.

5th, Overall Production & Script. I'm absolutely amazed and astonished on how well made and planned everything is. From the story line to unprecented events and conflicts to it's good little touch of romance; everything felt so well written and produced. Gotta give credits towards the set of great people behind it. They did an impeccable Job with this. What a Masterpiece!

Story - 10, No discussions needed. An absolute drama and can be considered as a Big Precious Pearl in a vast sea that you don't often witness with your bare eyes.

Artist/Cast - 10, Excellent selection of Artists. They all performed so well and I'm overly satisfied. A drama where I love almost 99% of it's characters and cast.

Music - 10, A great serve of Mellow Ballad that perfectly fits and compliments the show and scenes they're played and used for. I love the songs a lot too. <3

Rewatch - 10, Believe me or not I'm ready to watch it again today. That's how crazily good it is. This drama touched me so much that I'm not willing to move on. Forever engraved in me!

Overall - 10, OFCOURSE! Like duh? It is even a question? At this point IF you read through my commentary and probably saw my countless shower of compliments nothing will surely go wrong. I was never even once dissatisfied of anything. This is like a heavens gift for me for the New Year. Pouring all my love and appreciation for this drama. <3

BEAUTIFUL~!! Chaotic yet Fascinatingly Heartwarming and satisfying. <3

I don't know where to start. This drama's probably the longest for me to finish but also one of fhe most worth while of all.

Lemme start it by giving my earnest feedback; It all started as a very mysterious and adorable that gradually ended with so much schemes and fighting (Which I love as well). The thing here is that as time passes by you'll start to hate the supposedly 'Good People' due to their over judgement and hypocrisy and that very reason made me felt that bitter hate and distate. Thankfully this drama do provide justice and 'redemption' so almost all of those issue dissipated eventually when it neared its finale.

Secondly, I love how this drama served us different variety of feelings and emotions. It truly entails and showcases different ways and path of life and thought us/me how to look on the brighter side although it may look ridiculous. I feel like this production delivered in every aspect it possibly touched and has successfully handled them accordingly.

Of course, 'NO' drama is perfect and all of them mostly has flaws and broken holes but I feel like this story deserves to be place on a different level; separating it from the rest of it's origin. It is that impactful to me and it has successfully secured a great place in my heart.

Story - 10, The story is a continuous roller coaster of events that can make you feel differently each time but it surely is with a purpose. A well written drama with great plotd and overly irritating Minor 'Supposedly' Protagonist and Main Antagonists. It also overflows with love and tenderness coming from various individuals and their relationship towards the people around them. So much lesson to learn and way of life to appreciate and adapt to.

Acting/Cast - 10, SPECTACULAR!! i love all of the artists in this production. All of them truly delivered and expressed the greatest extent of emotions and actions their characters should present and I can't ask for more. I'm truly moved and triggered. Hahaha~ Special mention to Liu XueYi, as this is the first drama of him that made me hate him to core. Also wanna shower some love and appreciation towards the main leads and the minor leads. They're all splendid.

Music - 10, No discussions needed. Music is Perfect from the first Track till the end. Each and every Music touched and moved me to their own rhythm and melody. I enjoyed it the most among all of the OSTs of over 60+ dramas I watched this year.

Rewatch Value - 10, Solid 10. Highly RECOMMEND! Everything about this drama is spectacular and lovely in it's own way and deserved nothing but recognition, love and support. I would watch it a gazzilion times if needed.

Overall - 10, Any scores lower than 10 is absurd. This drama may not be perfect but there's no such thing as perfect drama and this one is like a cut from a very expensive and royal piece of clothing. Must treasure and protect.

A Pure, Charming & Heartwarming Family Drama with such Realistic Plots~!!

Honestly, dramas like this should be place on their own category. It's very unique, easy to watch and mostly presented in a such realistic-Innocent way.

First, I wanna commend how they avoid using cliche and overly used drama plots. Watching this and always getting fascinated on how they took the story in the most unexpected yet realistic way impresses me a lot.

Second, The characters are simply sooo well-compatible with each other, be it visually or character wise. 1st Lead Couple is so cute & adorable while 2nd Couple showed the most silly and naughty scenes and Finally, the 3rd Couple who may lack exposure yet got their shine at the finale made the drama even more interesting and enjoyable to watch cause there's no one left behind.

and Oh, Third, The star of this drama which is Xiaobao. OMG! This kid brought so much Flavor, color and spice to this production. It won't be as interesting & fun to watch without his cuteness & lovely role.

Story - 10, As mentioned above I'm extremely satisified and was even proud on how they managed to incorporate realistic scenes without touching the cliche plots. A very enjoyable and worth to watch drama.

Acting/Cast - 10, Perfect! They're just so compatible and very pleasing to the eye. I even love the bromance of He Qiaoyan & Ning Fang and also adore YiYue, Rouwei and XiaoAn's friendship. They are so fun and comfortable to watch. Acting is impressive as well. 💯

Music - 10, The playful tone of the Opening theme/Main BGM made me love the Music in this drama in general. Be it the insert instrumentals or the ballad used for dramatic scenes felt so right. <3

Rewatch Value - 10, Obviously! I won't accept any slander to this drama, honestly. This is my cup of tea and I truly enjoyed it. People may have different taste but I assure them they'll fall in love with it.

Overall - 10, DESERVED! I don't even understand people who give this a drama a lower rating. Like I mentioned, dramas should be categorized in accordance to their genre and quality itself. and surprisingly this drama is exceptionally well created and well produced and so does made it different and unique even from its supposed category.

Enchanting & Enticing production that will fill you w/ great laughter & Happiness. Highly Recommend!

Ahh~!! Where to start? I'm disappointed that it has ended since I had so much fun watching and laughing with this production. How I wish to have more episodes of them taking care of their kids while being chaotic. I felt robbed that they didn't have any kids for the entire 36 episodes.

This drama has brought me excitement, irritation, sadness and pain but more so smile and laughter. It's unique story is maybe identical to other dramas out there but it has its own identity that sets it far different with others as well. It may not have the best plot and drama elements but it can surely cater to variety of people. I must say that it will be suitable for anyone who enjoys Chinese Period/costume drama generally.

Looking at how this drama was created you'll immediately know that it has a great budget backing it up and it was not wasted any one bit. From the location, production, artists, music and other elements that contributed to make this drama as it is now, I have nothing but high praises. It is well produced and lived up to my expectations indeed.

SPECIAL MENTION!!! The passionate, soft and tender kisses always ended me with nothing but jealousy. How can they be so in love? Ghadd!!! Be it shallow and torrid kisses they always made me left awestruck!

Story - 10, I initially thought of giving it a 9.5 since I felt like something is missing and felt that my satisfaction wasn't met entirely but the Final Episode did its magic and filled those empty spaces with great pleasure and satisfaction. This story had so much potential dramatic scene wise but they didn't completely dwell into that and focuses more on the fun and romance side of this drama and that made it extra special and unique.

Acting/Cast -10, FITTED PERFECTLY!! From Li Qian & MingYue's love-hate and passionate moments to YunSi & Aimaila's unfortunate and tragic fate to JinYu and Kanle's naughty and playful romance and to Li Qian, JinYu and Sikong's friendship everything just fell according to how they should be and It never felt lacking. Acting is an absolute Top Tier. God knows how I enjoyed and love the characters and actor of this drama.

Music - 10, I never read the English translations of the BGMs while it's playing but the Music of this drama is in a completely different level. The music are enticing and hypnotizing that I ended up going back and forth with each scenes just to make sure that i'm reading and understanding them wholeheartedly.

Rewatch Value - 10, I would definitely rewatch it IF given that I don't have anything to watch anymore. Cause this is such a precious production and I want to miss and enjoy it as much as possible every single time.

Overall - 10, It's Glory deserve every single piece of acknowledgement. I really hope that people who are contemplating to watch this drama can read and discover my review so that it can help them decide. Cause this drama truly brought so much fun moments and memories to me. A phenomenal and unique drama that can effortlessly put a big smile and let out hearty laughter's to everyone.

An interesting drama that is overwhelming with colors and varieties. P.S. Watch out for KISSES!!

I ended this drama with the words "好可爱/ Hao Kei Ai"~!! Their Little Soldier look so cute and fluffy.

This drama may not be the most strategic, complex and well funded but it do live up to peoples satisfaction with its best.

Honestly, up until the last couple of episodes I'm still feeling annoyed at some cliche twist but it all went well and those things are the 'common elements' of a drama so I just accepted it. Anyways, despite all those scenarios I still wouldn't take credits off of this production for such silly reasons.

I'm lost for actual words and phrases so let me just enumerate the things I like and dislike about this drama.

✖ Dislikes...
- It's more of the disappointment I have with some plot that supposedly the MAIN HINT for the dramas development but ended up being unexplained and useless; and I'm talking about the Phoenix Flower. I mean, Why? Why?
- I'm really irritated during those times Chu Xiuming is being unreasonable and immature same goes with Shen Jin's lack of retaliation and self-worth during those moments she's trying to show his feelings to CXM. Like, Why Miss? You're better than that.
- I HATE the 2nd & 4th Shen Sisters. Those 2 bitches seriously got nothing to do but to go around being toxic and envious.

✖ Likes
- I love how common yet original the story is. They obviously followed the norms but they made it sweeter and more playful.
- The kissing scenes. Like there is so much of them that I always felt like floating over cotton candy's. Hahaha
- Story development of this drama is something I commend. The pace of how things worked out just felt so right and I never felt it was purposely slowed down or rushed.
- Character development and such felt so nice as well and I love how they cover and showed us their share of happy endings.
- The Final Episode.. I hope it was longer... It really hit me when all of the important character went to the General's Manor to witness SJ unexpected Delivery of her child; that scene felt so conventional and warmth my heart so much.

Story - 10, I would admit that it's not the BEST but it surely deserved this perfect rating as this drama satisfies me with it's own colors and varieties. I just can't think of a reason why this production deserve a lesser point or two when i absolutely enjoyed it.

Acting/Cast - 10, Well executed and they really played the colors of their characters pretty well. Aside from the Main Leads the Supporting Character couples made this drama extra special. They're indeed a sight to see.

Music - 10, Honestly? I only heard 1 song the entire drama duration LOL. Maybe i'm just so engrossed with the drama itself that I didn't notice all of the sounds used for each scenes. Hahaha~! It only means that they never bothered me and instead made me more comfortable watching those moments as well.

Rewatch Value - 9, Up till this point i'm still contemplating whether to give it a perfect 10 or not but i still ended up giving it a 9, not because I'm dissatisfied or something but more of 'contented'. This is the type of drama that feels right just by watching it once but will surely recommend it to other people.

Overall - 10, Definitely a Perfect 10. It's a one of kind drama that will make you feel different emotions just by watching it. It offers a wide variety of feelings that is very comfortable and relatively easy to watch.

An interesting drama that shows how great yet restricted and loving Women are.

Where do I even start?! Hmm, actually I'm contemplating whether to give it a 9.5 or 10 cause there're some part that I felt upset about but then I realized that this is a drama and that is its plot twist. So the moment i get my emotional involved only means I'm sold. Hahaha~! Definitely a 10, Story wise.

×× Dislikes
→ I hate how Kyoko even thought of keeping his relationship with his husband after he cheated. Like, I know she almost forced him to marry her but cheating is cheating. Sooner or later he will do it again. Sighs.
→ I symphatized a lot with Yuri but i'm kinda irritated on how she's bearing with his authoritative husband.
→ I hate how Women need to go through such pain and stress and act as if nothing has happened! They deserved the BEST!
→ I HATE how SHORT this drama is, I need MORE!

×× Likes
→ I just love the passion and kindness inside Nami. Someone who's very determined to change herself and to seek for peace and normal life.
→ I enjoyed the moments when she's with her Friends learning new things and it made me excited to see what she's up next.
→ Fighting Scenes! It's not the smoothest and cleanest but she DELIVERED! Some of it maybe corny or ridiculous to others but as I drown deep into J-Dramas, I simply understand their unique way of making their own masterpieces.
→ Nami's interesting way of cutting the vegetables and how she cut it perfectly when she confronted her husband. That gave me the "Bitch she's real mad" feeling.

Story - 10, I enjoyed it a lot. I was swayed and got myself excitedly anticipating for each coming scenes. I love how they highlighted Housewives/Women's concern as a whole and how Men shouldn't be trusted in any possible way. (I'm a guy btw)

Acting/Cast - 10, They delivered and it was fun watching them act. It was able to sent me warmth and place a refreshing smile ony face. I hate all the guys (their Characters) though. Hahaha.

Music - 10, That one sound they always play when something's about to happen just set the scenes for me. I guess i didn't notice the other BGMs if there is? but i'm satisfied.

Rewatch Value - 10, No questions needed to be ask. Release a sequel and i shall rewatch it right away. Hihi

Overall - 10, Well deserved! This drama made me think IF giving a 10 is okay? then I started re-evaluating the entirety of the drama itself and found myself uttelry satisfied. I realized that every drama has its own flavor and taste. The genre doesn't lining up to my usual standard doesn't mean it should be a level lower but it's more of ME finding another genre I'm starting to get into.

There's always a 2nd Chance in LOVE~!!

This drama gave me that emotions I longed to for quite a while now. I've always appreciate drama pieces which tackles Couple misunderstandings such as divorce and break-ups because seeing the characters growing and maturing always satisfies my crave.

I love how the Main Lead handle theirselves up after they experienced hurdles and misjudgement with their marriage. It was a new feeling seeing the characters trying to start over after their marriage failed. The hesitations, worries and guilt they felt made it emotional but the appreciation, time and love they used to have kept on becoming the greatest tool for them to start all over again.

Learning to appreciate your spouse; not just his good qualities but also his flaws and mishaps requires so much emotion and this drama delivers all that. I saw various emotions and maturity on both sides that it move me to tears several times. Some of it were painful but realizing, rebuilding and rekindling their once passionate love is the sweetest.

Story - 10, Story like this just where couples try to rekindle their love always moves me. This story is the best! I love how they handle the situations rationally and didn't ended up hurting each more while expressing their love to each other.

Acting/Cast - 10, They're all good. What can I say? Song Jihyo and Choi Jinhyuk did an amazing job expressing their characters and i received it greatly. The 2nd leads and the other couples are good too.

Music - 10, When it comes to K-drama OSTs, You can always trust! I was crying while Choi Jinhyuk was seeing that Ballad song ughh. T.T

Rewatch Value - 10, One of my favorite among all dramas I have watched! It's definitely on TOP of my list and will watch whenever I needed some good advices when it comes to making huge marriage decisions.

Overall - 10, Well deserved. I love how it is mature enough to handle great decisions and for that I must say that I was sold! This piece do have some flaws but it was overshadowed by how good the plot and dialogues are.

1 of the BEST~!! A Loving and Lively Family relationship. + Women Empowerment ♔

EXCEPTIONAL~!! Let me start this with such heavy remark to make it even more easier for people to decide on selecting this Series.

Probably the BEST drama I've ever encountered this year in the Chinese Drama Land. It contains not only the spontaneous, exciting and naughty sides but also represents Women's worth, power, grace and capabilities. It was so well made that I have indulged myself on each of it's episodes making me almost forget that I was watching a 40min+ drama. The scenes were always so fun that it made me felt like it's only taking me 5-10mins to finish each episodes; I was even disappoonted whenver I see the ending credits and such. Hahaha!

There's so much I like about this drama in which I won't dare to specify but I want to say that this drama production as a whole is indeed a PERFECTION~!!

Story - 10, It's well created and written that I barely notice any mishaps and even made me praise and love it more everytime an episode passes by. I also love how the entire Ban Family almost didn't lose anyone (aside from the Grand Princess) and was given such beautiful, satisfying and Happy endings. The scenes were not Heavy but instead is full of Fun, thrill and Excitement.

Acting/Cast - 10, No Words needed. They're perfectly in-sync with their characters and even made me love them so much. Oh, God! This drama gave me so much hearty laugh and adoration towards the artists. I am a big fan of Neo Hou and I watched it because of him but I also started it Bcoz Guan Xiao Tong is here (I'm a big fan of Luhan) I was never fond of her but this drama just gave me so much of her and she impressed me greatly to the point where I love and finally approved her as she is.

Music - 10, Great choice of music. It do fits the scenes specially the Song they're using on the Main Leads Romantic and intimate scenes. Ballad can never go wrong!!

Rewatch Value - 10, A drama i wouldn't be tired watching over and over again. Probably the 2nd Chinese Drama after The Word of Honor. It's actually on par with it. Both exceptionally outstanding.

Overall - 10, IF you read my review do I even need to explain. It is a MASTERPIECE that doesn't require any explanations. Just watch and fall in love with it.

Let me start my review by giving out praises to the Main Leads! They acted so well and embodied their characters to the greatest heights. I have nothing but admiration and praises to both of them.

Something I like about this series is how comfortable it is to watch and how cute the story is. + The fact that the Main Leads acted their way out to excellence in this drama and made it more eye-candy to me.

One thing that made me quite bored!? and restless about this drama is it's pacing and some of it's plot twist. Well this issues are being used in almost every drama so I guess it was highlighted in this story simply because the drama seemed too peaceful to me for almost 90% of it's entirety nonetheless everything is Good aside from the cringy scenes from the 2nd Couple. Hahaha!

Story - 9.0, Story is good and is focused in 1 Major Issue to resolve; it's just that it was dragged till the very end that it felt quite boring at some point. They could've resolve it an episode or two early then give us a Wedding Scene or so.

Acting/Cast - 10, This is Mainly for the Main Leads performances. Gia acted her life here, she's definitely a Cat in this drama. There's no faults in her acting. God!! I love her and she resembles Yamamoto Ayaka from NMB48 a lot and that made me love her so much more. Male Lead is Good too, you can see and feel their dedication and focused with their character portrayal.

Music - 10, Music are pleasing to ear and I'm listening to them on repeat using spotify. Perfect choice of Music!

Rewatch Value - 9.0, Watching this once is Enough and will probably remain memorable to me. Something I would recommend to people looking for peaceful and cute drama who love Cats.

Overall - 9.5, Deserved!! I didn't give it a perfect mark due to some Plot/Story issues mentioned above but it's definitely a worth to watch Series.

Age is just a number in the end your determination and passion will define your future~!!

Sasuga J-Drama!!! I never expect it to be this unique and good yet they proved again how they're ONE TOP when it comes to producing Piece-of-Life themed stories. J-drama's are always the best when it comes to portraying peoples life experiences; and you can always count on them and expect them to deliver no matter what.

I watched this drama since Sakaguchi Kentaro's the lead and wasn't expecting a lot from it (Although i checked the reviews first and that even motivates me to start watching it). From the 1st episode itself I can't just resist to not watch the next episodes as it provides a clear idea of how the story will go and I can't do nothing but feel excited about it.

Thinking about it now this is probably the 1st drama with 10 episodes that I was able to finished in 1 sitting. The story itself just caught my attention and god knows how deeply touched and moved I am by the Mother Love this drama presented.

Story - 9.5, Story is very unique and it tackles a lot of things specially how people tends to change as they grow older. Something I love about this story is how it somehow highlighted that "Age shouldn't be the determining factor to ones future or success". It sends me so much motivation and lessons that eventually reminded me that we're on our own pace.

Acting/Cast - 9.5, It should've been a 10 but I felt like something is missing one way or another. Nonetheless, the actors/actresses were great! What I love the most are their clever and funny portrayal of their specific characters.

Music - 8, It was good. Although, I find the Ending Music to be a little dark but looking back now it do represents the story itself since that was also a preview of the next episode.

Rewatch Value - 9.5, I would definitely re-watch it most specifically when I feel like i'm losing all my confidence and motivations to move forward.

Overall - 9.5, It was indeed a worth while and memorable drama everyone should watch so that we can be reminded that "We should never rush things out, time may change but as long as you got the will there is a way".

What do y'all mean Mediocre? This is a Gem!

I honestly started watching this drama because of Choi Sooyoung and was quite surprise on how many people left reviews with the word "Mediocre" so i'm hear to rip that off.

This drama actually started rough for me, during those moments i kept asking "I need a 2nd lead" & "This drama lacks a 2nd leading man to console the Female Lead" but after few more episodes it all comes to me as to why the writer made it that way. It's simply because the Female Lead is a grown up woman who thinks rational and can decide for her own and that's her charming point that sets her apart from other FL out there.

I must agree the ML is a bit toxic at first but you just gotta hang in there and see how he turns out to be the nicest and most compassionate of them all. This drama doesn't follow the norms of the current trendy drama of 2020-2021 and that's the main reason why I love how this drama was delayed till this year, since it was able to give off such different vibe and made me nostalgic of how dramas were created 3-5 years ago.

Story - 8.5, The story is very unique that will remind you of how dramas were usually created back then. It helps me open my mind to various ways of how people can deal with tons of situations in a mature & rational way.

Acting/Cast - 10, Definitely!! The set of Artist of this drama made me feel so much and they all deserved an applause or two for that.

Music - 9.5, I may not have notice the Music and BGMs at first since I was too engrossed to the story but it will definitely hit you hard when you're at the middle part of the drama. Every song suits the scenes well.

Rewatch Value - 8, This is the kind of drama that i may not watch for months or so, unless I need to remind myself on how to deal and cope up with situations in a rational way. It has that significant Rewatch Value.

Overall - 9, Definitely a MUST watch specially to those people who needs inspiration and is on a pinch situation where it's hard to find motivation to remain positive and optimistic.

Please let me know how do you find my review. Hope it helps. =)

Underwhelming & overhyped Female Detective saved by her ever-capable Husband | Light ON! *Grins*

"No matter how trivial the detail, or how close the suspect is to you, do not be afraid to doubt them. Be brave and seek verification. Trust could also be a drive for investigation." - Chen Wen (Yan Xing's Master)

More than anything else, what truly baffled me about this story was Yan Xing’s (FL) investigation and problem-solving skills. Although she was highly regarded and praised for her expertise, her performance during those cases was either weak or mediocre at best. I don’t think she ever resolved a single case on her own; most of the time, she succeeded only with the help of those around her—whether it was her Master, her friends or most often, her husband, Shen Du.

Her overall capabilities as an investigator and coroner are average and simply do not live up to her reputation. Watching her receive constant praise for her "excellent skills" felt ridiculous because she wouldn't have solved those cases without her support system. Not to mention, the amount of time it usually took her to reach a conclusion was far from impressive.

On top of that, she lacks social awareness—a crucial trait for any investigator. She is often clueless about her surroundings. It is bad enough that her investigative skills are only at an intermediate level, but they are further hindered by her lack of social connections and situational consciousness. This brings to mind a comment from the Director of the Ministry of Justice below:

"The wives of other high-ranking officials are adept at dealing with people to learn secrets that may be useful for their husbands. Who else would be silly enough to bury their head in files and stay in the morgue all day long?" - Director of the Ministry of Justice

That said, I’m giving 90% of the credit to Shen Du. He does most of the heavy lifting and keeps Yan Xing safe 99.99% of the time. Without his impenetrable protection, our FL would have been dead the second she was targeted by the enemies she offended. He really is a true knight in shining armor!

The plot was interconnected nicely, which helped brew the main conflict of the story. I particularly liked that the focus of the minor cases was related to the main conflict; they didn't deviate into unrelated cases, which helped keep the storyline's buildup on track. Although the plot was well-woven, I have some reservations about a few specific elements:

• Is the sudden off-screening or exclusion of important events. It happened several times; while it didn’t negatively impact the overall plot, it leaves me wondering what actually occurred during those scenes, as the story jumps straight to the resolution while omitting the climax. It was strange because even though the plan had been laid out, we were somehow left behind the scenes—completely unaware of the process and only shown the end result. This really bothered me because those scenes are vital to the plot. Cutting them out left me totally confused, thinking: "What the hell just happened?" (I'm referring to the ending of Gannandao Arc)

• The act of keeping some information hidden in order to use for the climax of the story—I'm referring to Pan Chi discovering that it was Lai Luo Zhi who tricked Saintess Daisi but never mentioned it on his letter to Yan Xing—which didn't get utilize anyways. Like, what's the point of revealing it ahead of time if they're not gonna use? The leads even have to know the truth through Jin Cang (Yan Xing's Musician uncle). What a waste!

• When It took her 14 episodes to realize her husband had night blindness, despite all the clues and their house being excessively lit. Surely that goes beyond just being afraid of the dark. I don't know why it took her so long to figure it out.

• The out of blue sickness of Empress Dowager. It happened all of a sudden that I didn't know if she was just acting because she was emotionally unstable, poisoned or forced by Lai Luo Zhi, or is devising a plan to catch the Lai Luo Zhu. It was hard to determine what was happening with her because she was being extra melancholy those times. I am glad it ended satisfyingly though.

• When Shen Du tricks Yan Xing into another wedding, but this time with a proper Wedding ceremony after she continuously rejects his reconciliation attempts. I find it inconsiderate of him especially after he disregards her threat to cut ties with him if he faced the Empress Dowager alone. I honestly feel like he should have groveled more and exerted more personal effort to win her back. One reason I feel this way is that they off-screened so many of the "winning her back" and "constantly rejecting him" scenes. /Sighs/

Lastly, I was frustrated at first that we were more than halfway through the story and the leads still weren't vocal about their feelings. But then, episode 25 finally happened. Although it took a while to get there, it was worth the wait. I loved the tension and the sincerity of their emotions during the hot spring scene, though the 'amateur-coded' kiss was a bit of a letdown.

P.S. The greatest plot twist of this drama was how genuinely innocent Prince Xian and Grand Princess Runing were. The show did a great job insinuating malice in their actions, only for it to be revealed that they had nothing to do with anything all this time. Job well done!

Story - 9.0, I honestly find the plot build-up to be great. My main issue with the story is the baseless reputation and feats attributed to Yan Xing. She has some skills, I admit, but she is definitely not at the 'expert level' the drama proclaims her to be. It might have worked if they had allowed her to grow over the course of the show, instead of having Shen Du back her up in every single situation. Additionally, I’m dumbfounded by the way they handled certain information; they off-screened, skipped, or omitted several scenes that were crucial to the story.

Acting/Cast - 9.0, I should be satisfied for the mere reason that I discovered Deng Enxi through this show and enjoyed her performance very much. However, I just can't swallow the cringeyness I felt watching some of the supporting cast, namely Xiao Yan and Song Fangyuan. I understand that this is an idol drama, but their performances are simply annoying to watch. It honestly may be their characters' lack of depth that drags them onto my bad side. How I wish they were written a little better. P.S. I just wanna mention how I love Deng Enxi's eyes—viibrant and indulgent.

Music - 9.0, While the soundtrack as a whole was not particularly memorable, I found the insert themes to be quite moving, particularly the music used during the more sentimental moments.

Rewatch Value - 7.0, While I enjoyed the series, it lacks rewatch value for me personally. However, I’d still recommend it, especially for those who follow Ding Yuxi’s work.

Overall - 9.0, The plot is clear, compact, and flows well. While the show over-hypes Yan Xing’s skills and some scenes feel omitted, the rest of the drama is solid and worth watching.

A Tapestry of Pigment and Thread | How to drive the FL to the end of her wits, multiple times!

"You're a gentleman, a good person, but kindness without a sharp edge can't fend off the sharp swords aimed at you." - Ji Yingying to Ji Yaoting

Looking back now, I struggled a lot to finish this drama because of 3 major aspects: the Plot, the conflicts in the story and the antagonists.

1. Plot - I felt so bored and irritated during the first five episodes due to the direction the story was taking. It followed the typical drama trope of the "oppressed heroine," which I'm totally cool with. However, the lasting distaste that ruined my mood was caused not by the antagonists who kept scheming against Ji Yingying (FL), but by her own family members who kept dragging her down because of their weakness, incompetence, and inability to assess the overall situation with better judgment. I'm actually glad that her brother (Ji Yaoting) almost immediately learned his lessons and started showing growth. In contrast, her mother remained stuck in her little bubble, believing that the situation would be alright as long as they stayed subservient. What's more irritating is that she remained that way until the second half of the story, which hindered Ji Yingying's progress and even became the instrument for the unnecessary and completely preventable conflict (Yang Jinglan's desperate homecoming) to occur.

2. Conflicts - Most of the conflicts in the story were totally preventable. What was more frustrating was that they felt forced just to engineer conflicts and emotional scenes. Some good examples are:

• Episode 23-34 - Yan Jinglan's desperate homecoming would have never happened if Ji Xushi (JYY's mother) hadn't been weak-minded and unnecessarily cautious. My biggest issue with her is that she doesn't know how to assess the overall situation properly and remains traumatized by the tragedy of the past. She tries so hard to avoid danger but doesn't realize that her enemies will relentlessly loom around them unless they have either utterly defeated or killed her daughter (Ji Yingying).

• Episode 30 - Sheng Dalang’s death could have been prevented if he and Sang Shisi had stayed within the group instead of running off to wander around, completely unguarded and incapable of fending for themselves. They created their own demise, period. The escort group with Yang Jinglan is fighting the bandits. So, I don't understand why they had to run in the first place when they were safer there than anywhere else. Geez!

• Episode 25 - The scene where Ji Yaoting questions the groom (Yang Jinglan) to allow him entry to the Ji abode, even though they are already married. LOL! Note that Yang Jinglan saved Ji Yingying from far worse suffering at the hands of the Yang family by snatching her from his second brother (Yang Jinglin). Additionally, I just don't find Ji Yaoting suitable/qualified to perform such a tradition. His sister would have suffered less if only he had been a reliable man in the first place. Gosh!

3. Antagonists - I guess I am just frustrated with how the entirety of the story was spent dealing with one major enemy, Niu Jin. He is cunning and may look formidable, but he is full of shortcomings. I just can't accept that he remained the biggest antagonist of this show despite all of his flaws and countless reasons to topple him down. He's one great enemy, but having him till the end became so tiring over time, especially when you consider all the chances they had to defeat him but failed to do so. This was either because they were underprepared/oblivious of his schemes or simply because he outsmarted them most of the time. Having Niu Wu Niang or Bai Sheng as the main antagonist would have been better compared to him.

This drama would have been perfectly fine with 32 episodes. 35 was reasonable, 37 was going overboard, and 40 was totally unnecessary.

I was 36 episodes in, but all I wished was for it to end. By episode 37, I completely lost interest and started thinking, "How wonderful would it be if this were the 39th episode already." By episode 38, I just wanted it to end but I persisted anyway because I still wanted to see through its ending. The halfway point of episode 39 was its saving grace; that was when I gained hope and started praying for a satisfying ending. By episode 40, I was just happy that it was finally the last episode. I found the ending lacking, but I'm just glad that it was concluded happily.

The supporting male leads in this show are the most self-righteous, lovesick men I have seen in a long time. Bai Sheng started promising—I had high hopes for him as a contender for a good second male lead—but as the story progressed, he became increasingly loathsome and possessive. The only good thing he did was to sacrifice himself to keep Ji Yingying safe. This man was obsessive, self-righteous, and overly self-pitying about his objectives and situation. He's the type of character you grow to hate as the story progresses. On the other hand, I'm rather grateful that Zhao Xiu Yuan eventually redeemed himself after taking a wicked path. I almost lost hope in him, but the scriptwriter eventually had a change of heart and gave him a chance for redemption.

In conclusion, I realized that I'd rather watch women scheme out of jealousy than watch men do it. Men's reasons have been the most unreasonable and unhinged I have ever seen. They tend to be extremely destructive and merciless for some of the most self-righteous and hell-bent reasons. At least, women do it with a sensible and much deeper reason. As for men, they gaslight their reasons to make them justifiable.

Lastly, while I've previously mentioned seemingly negative aspects of "Yang Jinglan's desperate homecoming," this is, in fact, the show's most iconic scene. His determination and devotion for Ji Yingying are powerfully demonstrated in the fight sequences, highlighting his most charismatic and attractive qualities. I absolutely love how he crashed the wedding and defied the entire Yang household—not just to stop the ceremony, but to claim it as his own. What an admirable man!

"When all else fails, seek your husband." - Yang Jinglan

Story - 8.0, The story would have been better if it hadn't over-utilized Ji Xushi's trauma and overcautiousness against Ji Yingying. It was upsetting that she was constantly being held back by pressure and restrictions placed by her own timid mother. I hope that screenwriters, directors, and producers can stop incorporating such worn-out techniques just to create hindrances and conflicts for the leads. It's frustrating when you see the people around her become the anchor that drags her down instead of a support system that keeps her moving forward. Additionally, I wish we had gotten a real influential and powerful antagonist and not just a power-hungry general that is usually easily dealt with in most dramas.

Acting/Cast - 9.5, The main leads were fantastic! I picked this show because of Tan Song Yun, but I ended up so impressed and captivated by Zheng Ye Cheng. This is my third drama of his, but it's the first time I truly appreciate his heartthrob charm and appeal. There is something about his killer smile and expressive, tantalizing eyes that made me so drawn to him in this show.

Music - 7.0, The songs in this drama felt almost non-existent to me. I'm not sure if I was just not paying attention or if they were simply not impactful at all. The only tune I can remember was the one played during Yang Jinglan's fight scenes on Episodes 23-24. Aside from that, I can't recall any other music.

Rewatch Value - 5.0, I'm sorry, but no. I honestly don't think I can watch it again. My entire watch experience does not allow me to feel the usual excitement and entertainment I have when watching a typical drama. I can't even recommend this for Pete's sake!

Overall - 8.0, This is that one drama I regret watching, yet at the same time felt grateful because I got to rediscover and see Zheng Ye Cheng in a different light. Aside from that, I am so done and would just want to move on to a next show that will excite the hell out of me.
