Title Heartbeat
I'm enjoying King the Land, See You In My 19th Life and Heartbeat. They are all excellent rom com/romantic dramas.…
That constantly slamming something they hate is bizarre to me. Life is too short. Make a negative comment, if you really feel strongly about it, then move onto something you do like is my mantra. Can't imagine spending days trying to destroy a drama others enjoy. Especially as they are never going to change anyone's minds. :)

I'm loving it, and he loved playing the part. He's proud of what he did, as he should be. The show is very entertaining.

Watched only 5 episodes . Dropped it and not worth watching all . Plot is not interested at all .
The manwha is the same. It came highly recommended from a friend, but I struggled to get through the first 14 chapters (there are more than 200 -- Yikes!) as every character is annoying, the FL is an idiot, the art style is ugly and everyone has long conversations about nothing that just go on and on.

Worst thing I've read in a long time, so I came here to see what the drama rating was. Yep, pretty much the same :)

Title See You in My 19th Life Spoiler
they also have a habit where the female lead never answer question about her age, which is consistence until you…
I think you're missing the point of the plot. :)

When she died in the car crash, all she knew was that she wanted to meet him again in her next life (and sorry, I don't remember if that has been explained yet in the drama, but it is a very relevant part of the webtoon, which is explained later when he finds out what she said to him as she was dying -- he couldn't hear her because of the ringing in his ears).

She wants to meet him again because, out of all of her lives, being with him made her the happiest -- their souls just "clicked", if you will. And souls don't have an age. (Remember, he has also been reincarnated many times, as has everyone. The only difference is most of us don't remember our former lives).

(And btw, her feelings will make more sense when he finally finds out what is in the box that she gave him for his birthday on the day she died).

So, when she is in her 19th life and 9 years old, she searched him out, met him and knew when she did that she still had the same feelings for him, even though he was now (physically) almost a decade older than her.

So at that point, it is "still adult Yoon Joo Won now as 9 year old Ban Ji Eum" checking to see if she feels the same way about him, now he is 18 years old and with an 18-year-old personality. And yes, she does.

That's why she is so deliriously happy in that scene as she asks him "Marry me, I'll grow up well", because she knows her feelings for him haven't changed.

Again, it has NOTHING to do with physical age, but everything to do with their emotional connection. She loved him at the age of 12, as he loved her when he was 9 years old when he told her he wanted to marry her when they grew up.

Then, when she met him again as adults -- she's 24, he's now 33, both of them are emotionally mature, and she immediately knew again that her feelings hadn't changed.

So no, it isn't her in love with a 9-year-old child, it is an adult vs an adult when it comes to their feelings, but also the same feelings they both had for each other when they were children.

In other words, it's a "soul connection" thing where age is completely irrelevant. As it should be. Especially as far as she remembers, she is almost 1,000 years old :)

True :) I actually ended up liking her character by the time the drama ended. Loved the drama too. One of my faves :)

I have never understood why so many people get hung up on age, unless it's just a sign the person commenting is young, so doesn't have much life experience?

An obsession with the so-called "age gap" is bizarre to me.

I have dated men up to 20 years older than me, and men 13 years younger than me, as well as men around the same age. I have also met men who were 20 years older than me who were ridiculously emotionally immature, and men 20 years younger than me who were as emotionally mature/more mature than I was at the time.

Makes no difference once you're in a relationship, and makes no difference to the feelings you have for that person or the feelings they have for you.

I always think about the Korean actor Teo Yoo, whose wife is 11 years older than him. He met her when he was in his 20s and said he knew within the first 2 weeks of meeting her he was going to marry her. They have now been married for 16 years and he still talks about her in interviews like she is a Goddess incarnate - and she is the same about him :)

Love is love. Age has nothing to do with it.

Really enjoying this so far. I binge-read the webtoon last week, and the writer/director have done a very good job both sticking to the webtoon's plot (with a few additional scenes) and adapting it so it is easily understandable for TV. All 4 leads are superb in it too.

I'm not gonna act like I have a lot to say and a whole thoughtful review to write. I just love this drama soooo…
Agreed. It's not really anything "new", but it's a sweet, fun, fast watch with superb performances from both leads, plus most of the rest of the cast. Enjoying this immensely as it's just the relaxing watch I needed right now :)

Lol calm down you ain't being forced to watch it or anything.....😂If you feel so bad for the struggling writers…
This. I never understand people wasting even a second of their finite life commenting and commenting and commenting about a drama, with the sole aim of destroying everyone else's enjoyment of it.

I hate something, I might comment once then move on. Life's too short to waste on stupidity. :)

Personally, this is one of the best romantic dramas I've seen in a while. Beautifully written, superb acting from both main leads, the child actors are phenomenal -- all of them -- and I'm so happy to see Cha Chung Hwa in another role. She never disappoints.

Male lead can act..his role is just meant to be more calm and you can see a few parts that highlight his emotions…
Yep. He's excellent in the part. Expected though, as he was equally superb in Her Private Life.

I dont think we will have Lee Rang go to his IG page :(
All he says in his IG account is that he has said "Goodbye" to Lee Rang for the time being because he doesn't know if there will be another season or not. If there is a Season 3 (nothing has been announced) it sounds like he would be very happy to be involved.

Recommend you do, or there will be quite a lot of the back story you won't really understand. You can always watch it on double-speed if you don't enjoy it, although for me it's one of my favorite dramas.

Best final episode of a drama I have seen in a long time. High action from almost minute one right up until the end. And a very satisfying wrap up of every plot point. Beautifully written, acted and filmed. Easily one of the best dramas of 2023. Even with over six months of the year still to go :)
