It's funny how IQIYI had listed this as a BL LMAO. But this show is really something! The best K-drama Series imo. Tops everything I've watched as of yet. The plot is EPIC! So well-structured and paced. Doesn't leave much time for the. viewer to think or prospect on what will happen next. The power of pacing it right. Satisfied!
I'm glad that they're exploring the body-guard trope for the storyline. Can't handle anymore engineers or university boys ready to jump each other. IMO Gun's acting here is much better than the pathetic excuse his work in LBC was. No offence but it was horrible. I'm glad to see expressions other than constant disgust on his face. I had huge hopes for the action scenes but they seemed quite stiff and unnatural to me (comparing with KP's action sequences, which I felt was a good reference). Idk if it's just me, but I wasn't able to take the actor who played Type's father in this mafia kingpin of a role. I think it's just my mind naturally type-casting him; but it's just too difficult to overlook. Maybe after a few more episodes I'll get used to it. Another thing that was a little off-putting was the production quality and the way the whole story sequence seemed to lack proper connectivity. It felt like the producers had a number of tropes listed out first and the story was structured around those tropes. So it felt a little lacking in depth, plot-wise (IMO). Hopefully things will get better in the latter episodes. Also I hope Sun's character is gay and not "straight to gay".
I'm just going to sit back and watch how Nadao's going to save this ship (if at all they are planning to). Overall, the recent episode was good imo, although it shook us all up from top to bottom (no pun intended), inside and out. The kind of chaos it has managed to cause is testament to the power this series holds as regards eliciting an intended emotion from the audience. Kudos to the cast, crew, production team and everyone else who has worked to make this wonderful series happen.
