go watch statistics. it dropped in 1 day, on the 21st of july. Do you really think all those 1 rates will delete this drama' achievements? Or other flops or flats will be suddently hits if the ratings here will go down? HL is in Netflix TOP10 in 15 countries today. There is no chinese drama with such performance overseas. The rest is poetry...and little hateful ppl behind their comps

"camera and lighting" ...AvenueX dixit! Well, there are so many Kdrama/cdrama reviewers with over 1 M following who praise this drama on twitter, instagram, tiktok etc. Why would someone be stuck with a review of an influencer with 100 k following? There are chinese film critics, magazines, gov media platforms where you can find plenty of good reviews. If there was something wrong ...they would talk about. But they didnt...

I just asked with all my sincerity what do you mean by it "has set a too high bar". I assume what I write and I wouldnt say anything if you wouldnt come in HL comments area to say this is meh, that is meah, coz WIFTY "has set a too high bar". Actually, why would you expect from HL drama fans? To not answer? Now you say you didnt compare dramas. Seriously? If you wouldnt write that post scriptum, I wouldnt say anything, coz we are all different, we have different tastes. Please, dont play victim now

then what means in your opinion "it has set a bar too high"? I am curious, coz HL is better written, better directed, the acting is better, the editing is better, the chemistry on-off camera is better, the prod doesnt look cheap. So what bar you are talking about? the pacing?

If WIFTY would be aired 3 months before or after HL, nobody would hype it like that.

what do you mean by slow:) would you like to see more action?:) (this drama is about emotions, chars development) How can it be slow, if it describes a love story development (admiration- crash-puppy love- true love) of 8 years in only 25 eps? Please, go watch trailers (25 ep in 10 mins. Pretty fast, a?)

I liked more HL. It's better written, better directed, the acting is better. HL cp hit me different, the chemistry is just wow, they both are so good looking! No other ppl stories, no wasted screen time. The garderobe used in HL is cool. The editing is good. But what makes this drama so diff, are the details: beginning with his car number (which means SZ, I love you), the name of every chapter (a song which reflects SZ's emotions), the way he bought her slippers with lil strawberries pattern just coz she loves strawberries, she wore for his graduation a baby blue dress with white colar and he has a baby blue shirt with white colar for her graduation... and so much more). You will laugh and cry, it is sweet, you will remember your first crush, leads are good at making you feel their emotions. Osts are good, as well.
This is the first drama I saw with tons of prod placements that are not obvious and annoying. After I rewatched it I could notice them, coz I read about them and I tried to figure where they were in drama.
The prod team really invested time and efforts to make it good, they used money properly, prod doesnt look cheap even they were short of money. They all worked hard for this drama, specially ZLS (after the former director left, and drama lost some investments)
I rated WIFTY with 7 and HL with 10. I also liked WIFTY, but maybe I wouldnt watch it if there werent ppl who posted in comment section of HL about how much better WIFTY is. Well, it isnt better. But this is just my own opinion,

Douban score is low coz there are tons of 1 star. They started to rated it from 2022. Why would a normal person rate a drama with 1 before it was aired? Everybody can go check them and make their own judgement.
