It's also because different dramas attract different people with different standards, so if you'd like it should be interpreted as "people who like Filipino dramas think this is as good as the audience of she was pretty" and there's nothing wrong with it. MDL is not rotten tomatoes for dramas, you know. Also the amount of people watching and voting is also completely different.

unfortunately i comment as a displeased audience member 😕 this drama didn't reach my expectations. my fav drama of all the times is empress ki, so a badass queen and ji changwook are my fav things in this plot. but after 2 episodes i couldn't get behind it. the unnecessary sex scenes are part of the reason i didn't enjoy it, but also i hate the fast pace and the cut to scenes made. they definitely had to shorten it many times to fit the format and i hate it, cuz now it just look super vague without enough elements to provoke the next action. idk....
i haven't watched many. i was just curious about the rowon playing a gay character. but i think bl obsession comes all the way back to the bl manhwas and yaoi manga fans.
