not worth your time
I started and stopped this series several times and finally committed to watching it. I wish I could get my time back. The premise and basic story line of the impact of social media on society is powerful. There are too many characters and none are fully developed. The script is all over the place, especially in the final 2 episodes. I believe the actors could have done more with a better script. Contrary to other critical reviews, I don’t think any of the actors were bad. I do think they were given an incomplete script that didn’t give characters, especially the main ones, enough definition. Who is Seo Ari and why should we care? Why doesn’t she know that rich people do drugs if she was rich herself? What happened to the food vlogging? Who died because of her? The script stops and starts and goes in 1000 directions without finishing a story. Was this review helpful to you?

Don’t believe the hype
The good: The concept of twins switching roles when one gets burned out. The evolution of the friendship between the ML’s and FL’s mothers and their discovery of their common past experiences. The first few episodes that establish the differences between the twins over the years. The bad: the twins are not consistently portrayed by PBY (whose work I usually love) and they each become whiny cowards until the last episode. Mi-Rae’s love interest-what in the world? And 1000 fragments of the story that just don’t make logical sense. Why does the ML have burn scars? What was Mi-Rae’s childhood illness and how did it disappear? Why is the ML losing his hearing in his healthy ear if his hearing loss was caused in an accident? There are so many whys and what did I just see.
What started as an intelligent, compelling drama descended into mediocrity and disappointment for me.

classic but weaker than I expected
Boys Over Flowers might be the drama I looked forward to watching the most. All of the actors/actresses were great EXCEPT the female female lead. there were plot holes but the story was cute. The lead female character ruined the drama for me. she was crass, loud, rude and constantly has her mouth full of food. There was nothing that would attract anyone to her. with different casting and a few tweaks to the script, I would have loved it. the lead actress and her character really killed it. The writers should have given her some manners and some attractive qualities. An actress with more talent should have been cast in the lead who could have at least given the character some warmth. Her kissing scenes were so bad it was painful to watch. Was this review helpful to you?
