I'm surprised to say that this drama was a complete WTF-what is going on? - mess almost through-out except for the ending. They somehow managed to wrap it up nicely and in a very interesting way. I liked how it was so bittersweet. The acting was phenomenal and the message the drama wanted to portray got delivered. I just wished the story as a whole wasn't so overly mysteriously-confusing only to be solved in the last minute. it did have problems with the pacing but I do give it a 8.5 for a satisfying and very well wrapped up ending. I also liked how in the end everyone was kind of the bad guy. Song Yoon Ah was definitely the main star in this. The ending definitely made my eyes get all watery. I loved the scene where she said to the presidental candidate "look at this, it almost looks like we are a happy couple" when he hugged her as they were about to die. It just hit me. Such a bittersweet moment. Her life sure is tragic, but the tragic thing is that she didn't have the strength to get away from it, instead she just let herself be driven by her own greed.
Anyone please tell me how is the ending? Is it happy one or a tragedy or a sad or separation? how is the "Romance"…
Depending on who you cheered for, it has a sad or happy ending. The ending is a happy one for Je Ha and Anna. However it is a bittersweet or sad ending for almost everyone else pretty much.
4 episodes left and I have no idea how everyone's story will wrap up in FOUR FREAKING EPISODES.
I feel like tons of stuff has happened...but nothing has happened xD does that make sense? They just keep beating around the bush without the plot being draggy...I've neevr felt that Before. It's so strange. Like stuff is happening but.....it doesn't really advance the plot. They are still in the same spot. I still don't know who is the main villain and how the entangled mess could be solved. Who is the victim? Who is to blame? 4 episode definitely won't be enough to fix something 13 hours couldn't even grasp. I still feel as long as I felt during the first few episodes. I guess the only thing that has advanced is the romance between Je Ha and Anna...and let me not get into that X_X I don't really understand why he fell for her...ugh -.-* Just my personal opinion. I do like them together, but I Think it's more that I like Ji Chang Wook and Yoona together, rather than Je Ha and Anna...
Let me start off by saying that I really enjoyed and loved this drama. production value was top notch. OST...I'll…
Hm...I don't Think a season 2 would do it any justice. It would just be Another modern triangle drama. Or so I've Heard that Bu Bu Jing Xin season 2 was, correct me if I'm wrong xO. I Think this ending was good. Not every drama can have a happy ending . It was fitting for the story, but I doesn't change the fact that I did feel sorry for Wang So pretty much through-out the entire drama ^^*
As for the ending, I both liked it and felt like it wasn't enough...um...I liked how she Went back to "our" time and how Ji Mong approached her about the fate thing and also how she remembered everyone at the museum and how she realized that the time travel wasn't in vain, she did end up changing So's history. He will not be rememebred a s a bloody monarch, she changed him so she succeeded, despite her love-Life being tragic...(she has partly herself to blame for that though...but let's not get into that). However the ending with So and how he "somehow" found out that she might be from Another World...um..that was weird, I wanted her to tell it to him straight even if he wouldn't believe her at first. I wanted her to tell him the truth! X_X the ending was kind of open....um...so will they meet again? The scar-thing was cool, I don't understand the purpose but it was cool.
As for Woohee's "reincarnation" um...at first I thought she had gotten togethet with Wook..wtf? xD I feel like the Bok Soon - daughther thingy was kind of confusing. I guess it was because they wanted to wrap it all up in the last two episodes but there wasn't enough time. In the end it was a great drama! Almost a perfect masterpiece. It will stay with me but yeah....it did have some small flaws :s I have to also mention that I liked how Wang Won got a small side-story with Chae Ryung, it kind of made his character a bit more important than just being "the right hand man of Yo". Also, I felt bad for Yo, I liked him. In the end he was just as pitiful as So. Mom was a bitch ...ugh she only cared about Jung in the end and used her two other sons D'X
Also, the whole "it was your fault" - Yeonhwa to Soo felt...weird...I understand that it was the perfect way to top her angst as she already felt guilty for causing some stuff, so to her hear that too would make her decide to leave..but Yeonhwa dear....you have no right to blame Soo...did you forget that it was your Words who influenced Wook the most? It's almost as if she tried to put all the blame on Soo to make hersefl feel better for what has happened to her family. I liked Yeonhwa through-out the drama. She was pitiful yet hateful. But that scene didn’t really make much sense to me…
I liked how Hae Soo died, and also the scenes that followed. Seeing So cry over her urn was heartbreaking. The daughter thing was cool too; and also how So finally forgave Jung and lifted his exile. That was sweet. I guess he realized he couldn't hate him anyone and wanted to thank him for being there for Soo and for taking care of his daughter. I still don't get why Soo never wrote to So about the truth. That she was from the future and all...like...why keep it hidden? I understand it's easier said than done, but ....just tell him xD He would've called her crazy but at least he would've known the truth.
Let me start off by saying that I really enjoyed and loved this drama. production value was top notch. OST...I'll be buying the physical OST. Acting..stellar. No complaints there. However....I felt perhaps this is one of those rare cases where a drama should've been longer. 20 eps wasn't enough. The novel was quite long, chinese verson had 38 eps (that was a bit too much and I felt that that version dragged) but a perfect 25-ish eps would've done this drama justice. In the end, the last two episodes kind of felt rushed and some stuff left me hanging like: ....huh?
Woohee's sudden death. Um...why? I didn't see the point. it was so sudden and almost just shoved there just to make Baek Ah abandon the king. because....we needed more angst? Because So would be left all alone in the palace? When Ji Mong left it was the cherry to to the cake. He was truly alone then. Woohee's death I feel like served no other purpose but to suddenly shock people and also make Baeh Ah miserable (which is unforgivable D'X I liked him a lot. poor guy.
by the middle of ep 19 I just knew that this drama's name was Scarlet Heart: Angst. I already knew the ending would be angsty and bittersweet, if not even super tragic. So I was prepared for her death. It was inevitable however some stuff felt forced and..out of place. Like, I didn’t mind the sudden “Jung got Yo’s approval to marry Soo” – thing since he did say he had a way to get her out of the palace. But the way how it was handled was just…huh? And also, when So found out about Soo and Wook’s past romance…I understand it was just the last drop but..yeah….and also how they kind of portrayed Soo was the victim. It was she who left him first. So was right “he didn’t abandon her, she abandoned him” with her indecessiveness. I felt so sorry for him. I understand that this wasn’t the love she wanted. She loves him, she still loved him until her death but she couldn’t handle the palace life. She should’ve just said THAT. Not acted as if she didn’t love him anymore. Ofc he felt abandoned…I can’t blame him because I interpreted it like that too. Her longing for him afterwards and wondering if he was still angry at her…um…whut? You left him first. Why are you suddenly acting as if he drove you out of the palace? Wook..um...the scene where he hugged her and was all smiley ...I just wanted her to punch him in the face. He doesn't deserve her forgiveness. did she forget how he turned his back on her? I don't find his sudden act of kindness is enough. Even if he did help her leave the palace...by making So miserable. I guessit was more an Eye for an Eye against So than to actually genuinely wanting to help Soo.....he was a schemer until the end -.-*
can someone pls tell me whose child bok soon is? is there a story behind it or is it just pure coincidence?
Thank god for this theory! At first i freaked out thinking Woohee somehow got together with Wook...wtf?? ._. Or I thought it was Baek ah's daugther...but then again why would Woohee leave rer at Wook's place? The most logical thing is that she is her reincarnation.
I like this drama a lot, it's both a Life lesson and it's funny. However, I do have to say It is a bit annoying to see Bok Shil work so hard and forgive Louie time after time when he is just making so many mistakes. Sure it took a while and now he has manned up and realized the Worth of Money, but I honestly don't know why she didn't kick him out after the 4th or 5th mistake X_X gosh...he should consider himself lucky. She was really being borderline-stupid-kind towards him....but yeah, I guess she is just geniuinely a nice person. I like that a lot. But that also made some scenes frustrating to watch. With that said, Seo In Guk has such a puppy face x'D <3 It's hard not to forgive him haha but yeah....some scenes I wonder if someone irl would've kept Louie under their wing. I would have had a serious talk with him.
I'm so confused what's happening anymore. So far the drama seems very...lacklustre, to say the least?
I find it interesting yet confusing as hell. It's cool how you dont know who the true villain is...you love-hate everyone but we are slowly reaching the end and I still fel like some parts are just as confusing as at the beginning of the drama...
I've been wondering this for a while now ....but is chief Kim lesbian? :s she seems to be very very attached to the madam even going against Je Ha, as if she is jealous or overprotective of the madam. Correct me if I'm wrong, maybe it's just very deep loyalty but the way she looks at her and all kind of gives off some sort of admuration and love xD I wish madam could get Je Ha to notice her. I ship them :s I like Anna but....Je Ha x Madam FTW xD <3
OMG i love the teacher who makes impressions of famous drama characters x'D he cracks me up! Hahahahaa He'll be on the list of my favorite drama characters of all time x'D Especially his impression of Lee Je Hoon from Signal was so on point x'D I'm dying hahaha
"I was only trying to survive."
-3rd Prince, Wang Yo
So sad yet Epic character development how he realized tragically enough that he was just like So. In the end he was just used. Queen Yo has some serious issues....favorim to the extreme..in the end she only cared about Jung........that's fucked up DX poor her children. And when Yo realized it and she tried to make up excuses I wanted to slap her so damn hard. Like...stop lying woman! In the end she used Yo to get rid of all the enemies and secure Jung as the perfect King on the throne. She used and threw away her son...that's....sick X_X
This drama for sure knows how to use minor details to its advantage! It's so well developed *_* maaaaan just the small almost insignificant (or so i guess I thought) details actually ended up playing a big role: Soo Always hitting her chest, <- foreshadowing and cleverly done, her sickness wasn't throwing in our face out of the blue it was Always there I just personally, and I guess I'm not the only one never paid mch attention to notice it. Char Ryoung and Won' interraction. If I'm not mistaken they did throw Eyes at each other in the early episodes. I just ever noticed it until now when I Think back...AND THE MOST EPIC DETAIL THAT THEY USED was the scar wrist thing. Maaan I thought it was just a good plot device at the time, the only way for Soo to escape the King. But maaaan I love how they made use of it later. Wook...I have a love-hate relationship with that man. I want to slap him so damn hard but at te same time I kind of feel sorry for him. I felt more sorry for Yo though, and he was a bigger villain per say. However I loved th character development Yo got, how he realized he was just like So, in his mothers eyes. He just got fake love and got used. Poor guy...he had a very tragic Life. I can't hate him. In the end his Life was vey pitiful until the end.
HELP! Maybe i missed it but... what is the relation of the 'evil' chairman to the grandma???
If there is no straight line in family ties to inherit usually it either goes to Charity or to the person who the chairwoman Thinks is the most fitting. I guess the evil chairman worked all his Life for her and therefore is the most likely candidate to inherit it, if Louie is gone.
As for Woohee's "reincarnation" um...at first I thought she had gotten togethet with Wook..wtf? xD I feel like the Bok Soon - daughther thingy was kind of confusing.
