I adore how the ML remains sassy no matter what. He is sooo good at being petty and sassy. Even messing around with a freaking demon who becomes speechless LOL. It’s so entertaining and unexpected

It is a lot more credible IMO than making someone who cultivated for so long and had achieved the pinnacle of enlightenment to suddenly become full blown evil. It would make the ML weak actually. I love how they made him rogue but grey rather than evil.

I think his core wasn’t affected by the demons (that’s why the demon said he is a rare talent) so he is technically not evil. He has just lost his memory so he forgot the principles and education he received from his master. But he hasn’t lost empathy or compassion. He just doesn’t have the same values.

I don't consider dating another adult to be a scandal - only crazy teenage fans are bothered. I meant real scandals - drugs, illegal stuff, being rude, etc. He has none of that so far and it seems to bother people.

I really admire those who can watch Zhang Linghe dramas without being dazzled by his beauty.
I am always in awe. He doesn't have that idol type of beauty but more that classic, sophisticated beauty that is rare. He is extremely attractive and charismatic.

I can tell you exactly what it is. The people I've seen rate this ridiculously low are all female fans of other famous young actors (e.g. Dylan, etc.). They just can't stand the ML lead becoming so popular. They have literally nothing to complain: he acts well, he is versatile, hardworking, handsome, young, nice and no scandal. It kills them.

Everytime a lead actor (FL or ML) start getting recognition and become popular, you have some crazy fans of other lead actors getting insecure and coming on pages to trash the actors and the drama without any solid argument. You can generally tell by looking at their drama list and ratings - they will give a 10 to any drama their fave acts in and start giving random 1 ratings to a decent drama.
