Interesting argument - you rated some dramas 10 (like my journey to you) despite the strategy being almost the same too.

A lot of people feel that rating a drama lower will make their favourite actress stand out. It’s ridiculous. Dramas with popular actresses are always rated highly even if the plot is predictable. This drama is top tier and deserves way above 8.

Hey everyone - for people (like me) who can't let go of this drama and find another one on par. Go and watch the new drama The Double. Story is different but it's honestly so so good with a similar vibe and chemistry. The second ML in SOKP is now the ML and he is so much better (more charismatic and grey which we love!!).

WOW this drama is a perfect 10 so far. I love evertyhing! Finally a drama on par with Story of Kunning Palace. The wait is pure torture.

Why can’t Chinese directors be original and produce original content instead of ripping off from Korean dramas. It’s literally Flower of Evil with a historical twist. Sigh…

The ML of Legend of Shen Li was never popular (even during Princess Agents) and is not the typical idol type either, so I do wonder which strings some of these leads pull. I assume they have powerful sponsors or parents.

This is one of the few well done slow burn romance dramas. Once the ML confesses get ready to be swept off your feet. No holding back and very satisfying skinship

I think the « smart female lead » tag is misleading here. « Strong female lead » is more apt as she is very strong while still being vulnerable. It makes her more human IMO. I could not connect with the FL of SOM as I didn’t feel her character was realistic (and the drama was boring to me personally) so I can see why you wouldn’t like this FL is you compare both. The ML is so exceptionally smart that he really makes everyone else come across as dumb. But I think this drama is more focused on showing the human and dark sides of human nature and karma. As well as the characters’ growth.

The cast was absolutely stellar. Not a single boring character or bad acting.

Did you miss the part where she stabbed him and he literally thinks she tried to kill him and is responsible for destroying his whole kingdom? How delusional are YOU? The ML must coddle a woman even when he believes he was wronged? If I was in his shoes I would have killed her long ago. He clearly can tell that something went wrong in the past hence why he has now stopped being violent towards her.
