That's cause when the countdown ends, it'll be 15th Oct in South Korea and since it's a South Korean show the countdown is according to the KST (Korea Standard Time). I live in India so when the countdown ends, it'll be 14th Oct, 08:30 pm here in India because of the different time zones as we follow IST (Indian Standard Time).
I too thought that the last few seconds of the last episode seemed like a sort of trailer to the special episode. I hope the special episode is the continuation of the last few seconds and not just the bts.

This series has one of the most beautiful love story I've ever watched. (I've watched it twice in the past 6 months, and would definitely watch it again in the future). I suggest you watch the show first and then read the book. This show is a must watch. And The Untamed has some of the best OSTs, I'm sure you'll love it!!
