He is a good actor. You can't ignore his presence on screen, no matter how subtle it is. His characters almost always leave an impression on you. He mostly plays supporting characters, but none of them feel like cannon fodders, his portrayal of them is too good, they feel almost real. He is one if the few actors you will praise for acting before their beauty, looks, makeup and costumes

Such a great show, what's up with the ratings. Personally I can't be satisfied enough. No non sense here. Every character is so well played. Till a person is not dead, 6 feet under the ground, people like you, are rarely satisfied. One has to die for you to believe, he/she really suffered, was in pain, suffering and agony.

It was first time I saw someone looking like well deserved of the good reputation (in the drama) one has widespread. If there were fairies, they would look like her. Every time I see her onscreen, I get goosebumps, like how elegant and beautiful one can be, she has a cold ❄️ type of beauty, like the one untainted by worldliness

She is so elegant and beautiful in Guardians of the dafeng, the I had to literally pause and rewatch her scenes, her jewellery, dressing, hairstyle and makeup is done meticulously and she definitely be fits the reputation she has in the drama. I was smitten by her, she looks like carved out of jade

I love the fact that Xu Qi'an stood up for women that are completely strangers to him, and on top of that are from a convicted family, same as he stood up for his own cousin, safeguarded her and went to jail and suffered the consequences.
For own daughters and sisters, many can stand up, even for cousins, some can but it's hard to see someone extending the same courtesy to a passerby, even in dramas, a fictional story

They were guilty officials, so no one was willing to associate with them, and they couldn't provide any benefit and on the other hand, the perpetrators have solid backing and societal norms and rules favour them. Look how xu qi an ended up.

Yeah I also noticed that small detail about Huaiqing that they slipped in sneakily, her hugging her sister with all female maids hugging both of them and she just let lin'an's stealing of her identity go. It makes me think Huaiqing thinks of Lin'an like a child, not a competition and absolutely not as an enemy. But how outstanding Huaiqing has been, people have forced Lin'an into a useless competition. Lin'an has been influenced by other people's opinions too much, mainly because how young she is, and other people also include her own mother and brother. And yes Huaiqing has an excellent system, even her most ordinary subordinates are so quick witted and prudent and how she discovered Xu Qi'an so early in the show, and she didn't go crazy when knowing that he is an A+ (like how even gold gongs wanted Xu Qi'an and lost their composure), or wanted to build a relationship with him, but still supported him in big matters, behind the scenes. Her motives cannot be understood till now, but it's clear she is planning big, with Yunlu academy and Alchemy Beauro on board, and she is likely not a bad person

They just automatically make me laugh, he is such a humorous character and a shameless one at that, Xu Qi'an takes after him

Scenes of Anji courtyard were recorded so skillfully, the tension buildup, the phone vibrating, round table conference and the end, where they were just lending a helping hand, I was like dizzy for a moment, what happened, it took me a while to realise, and why did they went in the dark of the night, just to sweep the courtyard and deliver goods. The director did such a wonderful job

I think no.1 is one of the princes, either he is crown prince or Huaiqing 's brother. No.1 is too high profile to know many inside stories, but is also too high profile and can't move easily and do things like Xu Qi'an a small copper gong can do, without coming into notice and slipping easily. And he is not old, as he doesn't knows about what is inside the lake despite his status, as older generation like Supervisor, Wei Yuan and Emperor know a lot of things which younger generation doesn't knows despite how high their status is. Chu Caiwei asking her master, the supervisor that who those people are, and what did they steal, but he didn't replied to his own disciple. And how Wei Yuan shup up his foster children, seeing them grasping the heart of the matter

Yeah they were the first thing I noticed in episode 1 😂😂
